Hey all!
I’ve just been for an early scan, and got to see little bean and its heartbeat.. what a relief! My Flo app dates me at 7 weeks + 3 days.. and that’s exactly what my scan measured as 🤩. Nice strong healthy heartbeat too. It makes all this horrendous neasea (not sure why it’s called morning sickness - it’s an all day thing 🤢) feel very worth it!! ☺️. Midwife booking appointment is this Friday, so it’s all starting to move now! ☺️. Hope you’re all ok 💕 x

@SJLOU such a lovely picture! So pleased it went well xx

Thanks for the new thread @UrbanSquirrel ! Sorry I’ve been rubbish at posting - just trying to struggle through the first trimester with my 3yo 🫣 9+2 today and the nausea has seemed to be worse the last 3 or 4 days. Got my booking appointment on Tuesday so that’s exciting!

congrats and welcome to all the people who have had their BFP’s 🥰

xx

That’s fantastic news! Congratulations, you must be on cloud 9 😄 is that the first scan you had?

Hope1986 · 30/06/2024 21:17

May I just ask if anyone has little sharp twinges at all? Not super pain just a niggly little pain every so often 🙂

UrbanSquirrel · 30/06/2024 21:30

@mamataylor Hello again 👋🏻 It sounds as though you've been utterly frantic, but wonderful to hear that all is going well. Good luck for the booking appointment! You and I are date twins - though I think in reality I'm a few days behind 9+2, due to later ovulation. I was reading today that the baby in week 9 is either the size of an olive or a strawberry, which is confusing because I'm sure that strawberries are a bit bigger than olives... 🤔😂

@Hope1986 Yes to the twinges! Sharp very brief stabs in the groin area when I sneeze or cough or move too quickly. Seems to be pretty textbook round ligament pain and nothing to worry about - just the body stretching ready for the fun and games ahead 🤗

To clarify, @mamataylor, I mean going well in the sense that it's all ticking over as it should, not in the sense that you've been struggling with that horrible nausea, which is not nice, and I hope it gets better for you very soon!

@SJLOU what a lovely picture! congrats!

Hoping for a better one when I go on Thursday 🤞🏼 EPU gave me one estimated at 6w2d (should have been 7w3d by dates) and you can’t see much 😅 to be fair I wasn’t expecting a picture at all though!

Shortcake06 · 01/07/2024 08:01

Hello everyone. Loving reading everyone’s updates 💕
Sorry I have been quiet, I have been abroad and then running after my 4 year old! I’m now 6+1. Starting to have some gnarly nausea and food aversions!
I just booked an early scan for when I am 8 weeks and already feeling nervous. From peoples experience is a scan at this stage normally abdominal or not?
@SJLOU what a lovely scan picture! 😍
@Lemonbell Im so pleased to hear about your scan going well!

Hope1986 · 01/07/2024 09:00

I’m really struggling. I have a scan next week but I have made an appointment to get my bloods done today for HCG levels. Hopefully this might help me.

Haha I knew what you meant! 😂 I had an early scan at 7 weeks and was 2 days ahead of my original dates so must have ovulated slightly earlier. It’ll be interesting to see if they say the same at my 12 week scan!
I too would definitely consider a strawberry bigger than an olive 😂 I’ve barely looked at my apps this time!! Is this your first baby?

UrbanSquirrel · 01/07/2024 09:12

@mamataylor Can you tell it's my first?! Ha ha. Yes, it's probably obvious 😉 I'm that girl who's downloaded the apps and has all the books and is probably taking it way too seriously 😂 But, assuming that all goes well this time (please God), we'll be one-and-done, so I'd better make the most of the experience while it lasts 😜

I had my first scan at 7+3 although was measuring 6+3. Trying not to be unsettled at that, as everyone says it's hard to measure at that stage, and I think I probably have been ovulating later than expected (which explains why it's taken us 15 months to get to this point 😂). Should just have used those ovulation sticks, but I didn't even know they existed until
I joined Mumsnet.

We have a follow up scan on Thursday (also private), when I should be 9+6 weeks, and I'm just hoping that everything has grown properly. I have no reason not to think so, but I'm feeling very nervous...

I did exactly the same with my little girl! 🙈 there’s absolutely nothing wrong with doing it and if anything helps you prepare for what’s to come!

yes exactly that! I think that’s why they use the 12 week dating scan to be sure on due dates. They measure so so small in the first weeks. Ah, I never used ovulation sticks either and it took us 10 months this time round with a loss in-between. I was worried I’d become obsessed if I used the sticks 🙃

Sending you all the best for your scan on Thursday, I’m sure all will be perfect 🥰 and you’ll be surprised to see how much bigger baby has got in that short amount of time! I can’t wait to feel movement to help reassure me everything is ok!! X

😔 im also struggling too... Has the joint pain gone away? Mine lasted until Saturday morning and then gone. Now back to symptomless...

WildFinch · 01/07/2024 10:05

@UrbanSquirrel my app compares it to an eyelash at 7 weeks 😆

I had an early scan at EPU this morning after spotting for 10 days. All looked good. Saw a heartbeat. Measuring 6+6 which is slightly less than I had at 7+3 but as my cycles are quite long she didn't seem concerned. She could even tell us the right ovary is the one that ovulated and is now producing hormones to support the pregnancy and that's why I feel more twinges on that side apparently. Amazing!
Just trying to hold on to the feeling of reassurance now and not slip back into anxiety.

Hope everyone else is doing ok xx

DauntedAF · 01/07/2024 10:22

Hey folks

Struggling with tiredness and nausea here too. Had no symptoms on my first but this one is kicking my bum. First scan tomorrow and counting down the hours. Will be 7wks +3 days

Any tips for the nausea

LS888 · 01/07/2024 10:33

I have another scan booked for Friday. I measured smaller than expected at my first scan which she said was at 5/6 weeks but I had counted it as 7 (5 weeks since the ovulation date+2 weeks) so it made me a bit anxious too. I’m hoping on Friday I will have a clearer date. 🤞🏻

UrbanSquirrel · 01/07/2024 10:51

Wow it looks like a stressful week of anticipation for many of us! Fingers crossed that all goes well - and I hope everyone will pop in to let the rest of us know how it goes...

@DauntedAF I'm so sorry to hear about the nausea. No suggestions, I'm afraid, but sending much sympathy.

Pepsix · 01/07/2024 11:07

I have my first scan on Friday too, Flo is telling me I’m 6+4 today so I’ll be just over the 7 weeks for my scan.
Hoping all goes well and I can finally feel like this is real, I’m just a tired mess at the minute so there is definitely something going on in there 😅

superj21 · 01/07/2024 11:10

@WildFinch that's brilliant, glad that everything is looking good - I didn't know they could tell you that much info from a scan!

@DauntedAF I've been prescribed prochlorperazine for the sickness and have found it very effective
