@Piluka think I saw someone else due the 9th also! 😀

It's great to see everyone's scan pics. Hard to believe how good they are given the tiny sizes! Hope everyone's starting to feel better 😊

5431go · 05/08/2024 20:59

You too @jaybeez

superj21 · 05/08/2024 21:31

Hahaha @Piluka aw that sounds very cute, if a little stubborn 😂

Hopefully2ndtimemummy · 05/08/2024 22:02

Congrats to all on the good news!! I’m 12+2 I think and scan not until Mon 12th- feels like forever! Hoping scan goes well and if yes then will arrange nipt. Feeling nervous but defo feeling less nauseous since week 10 which is a relief!

superj21 · 06/08/2024 06:29

Question for those who have gone private for NIPT. Is it not offered to you on the NHS? I'm not sure if this is an England v Scotland difference but they did my NIPT yesterday just after my scan - but this was arranged at my booking appointment so it wasn't because of any issues with the NT test. Or is there other benefits from an earlier / private NIPT? Do they test for more than Downs, Edwards and Patau ?

QuantumPanic · 06/08/2024 07:15

@superj21 Are you sure it was the NIPT? Blood is taken to look for levels of HCG and papp-a as part of the combined test. I believe (but could be wrong!) that Scotland also only offer NIPT on the NHS if you get a higher chance result on the combined test. (This is what happens in England.)

Maybe your trust is doing some kind of pilot?

There are several different companies that offer NIPT and some will screen for additional conditions. Not sure which company's platform the NHS uses!

A number of Scottish screening programmes can help identify whether a woman and her baby may have rare but serious conditions. Learn more about them.

superj21 · 06/08/2024 07:25

@QuantumPanic oh I could well be wrong! At my booking apt they asked if I wanted screening for Downs, Edward's and Patau and after my scan yesterday they sent me to phlebotomy to get that done. I'd already had my general bloods done for infections, blood count, etc. so I assumed this further testing was NIPT but it looks like from that link that it is another type of screening:

Testing for Edwards' syndrome (T18) and Patau's syndrome (T13), as an additional option within the existing first-line blood screening test for Down's syndrome (T21)

Clearly I should be asking more questions 😂. I was told from these tests I would be told if I'm high or low risk.

Thats just the standard screening you've had done, you'll get a letter if low risk within a couple of weeks (mine was about 10 days) or they will be in contact sooner if high risk.

NIPT looks more deeply into chromosome and any issues there I think.

superj21 · 06/08/2024 09:19

That makes more sense @elb1504 😁!

elb1504 · 06/08/2024 10:12

Anyone that's had other babies when did you feel movements? I'm convinced I can feel the tiny flutters on same one side but its very early (15 weeks) so not sure if I'm making it up!

Last pregnancy I had an anterior placenta so didn't feel anything for ages, not sure of placenta location this time but wonder if I'm just going mad haha!

herewegoagain123456 · 06/08/2024 10:13

Well I finally have my booking appointment on Friday, and booked a private scan for Sunday just to check on things.

I'm proper freaking out this pregnancy, I have 2 older ones and doing it all over again is sending me into a panic!

Glad everyone's scans are going well 😍
I don't think I'll get that private test unless it comes back high risk. Knowing my luck ATM it will. But will cross that bridge when it comes to it.

Is anyone still going to the gym through pregnancy?
I am so weak! 🤣

Do you remember last time when did you feel the movements/flutters with anterior placenta?

Lidlisthebusiness · 06/08/2024 10:47

@elb1504 15 weeks is definitely reasonablentonfeel movements, especially if you've already had a baby. I think they generally say between 16 and 20 weeks, so you could be right!

@herewegoagain123456 I've had a break from the gym because of everything else I have going on, but I'll be getting back on it soon hopefully. It'll be interesting to see where I'm at when I finally get back to it!

elb1504 · 06/08/2024 11:34

@Lemonbalm8 I think it was around 20 weeks or just over.

@herewegoagain123456 I'm just starting to feel better to exercise, did a short run this morning and will be trying to continue light weights but decided to try not to pressure myself to do it if I don't feel like it thats fine.

@Lidlisthebusiness Hmm I'm sure it is something it reminds me of what I felt last time but thought it was too early, always in a similar position too.

EastLondonCoffeeFiend · 06/08/2024 11:35

congrats to everyone for their scans recently! ❤️

@herewegoagain123456 I tried the gym a couple of times and felt EXHAUSTED even when taking it much easier than I used to. I’m now on pregnancy yoga and swimming instead haha. Maybe I tried retry the gym now I’ve got a bit more energy back though?

herewegoagain123456 · 06/08/2024 11:55

I have managed to keep going every morning at 6am, but each time I go I get a little weaker 🤣

I've stopped being sick in-between sets though which is nice 🤣

Thank you for letting me know. I had anterior placenta with my son, couldn't feel much until 30 weeks. And I have one now, hopefully it will be earlier as it was worrying to not feel many movements 💚

Wow you're amazing. I've become a couch/bed potato since 6 weeks (maybe I've always been?) I have been spotting quite a bit in this pregnancy, hoping to start yoga/swimming in few weeks, something light.

OrangeSlices998 · 06/08/2024 15:27

This is my 3rd pregnancy and each time I’ve sworn I’ll be active and not eat my feelings and lie down lots… it’s yet to happen! I’m so tired and have been nauseous constantly since 5 weeks, I can’t even imagine running which is a shame as I loved exercise pre pregnancy! Might try and get in a swim this week.

apple67cherry · 06/08/2024 15:54

Hi everyone! Had 13+2 scan today, alls well 🥰

Today I had a phone call from the hospital. I'm a high risk for DS because of blood's result. Baby apparently normal measures. We've given several options and we decided to go for Amnio as it's a Yes/No result. Has anyone of you had this before. I am petrified and honestly I didn't know what to do as everything had something "bad". Anyway, I'll have the procedure on the 22nd so by the 27th we should know the results. I'm feeling very sad and down... I only needed to "vent it" somehow.

Meanwhile, I wish all of you good results (screenings and NIPT) and happy pregnancies. 😊 Xxxx

I'm so sorry @Piluka . I hope the results come favourably and as soon as possible. Big hugs to you.

UrbanSquirrel · 06/08/2024 17:20

@Piluka I have responded on the new thread but in brief I'm so so sorry to hear that things are up in the air... What a shock this must be, but don't lose hope yet 🤗

To everyone else: we're now out of space here, so please continue on the new thread linked below xxx

Does anyone else feel like they’ve gone back flatter since 12 weeks? My bloat seems so much less and I look slim again. It’s really worrying me
