Hello!

I know there are quite a few threads like this, but thought I’d start a new one for those of us going through this just now šŸ™‚

I found out about my MMC at what should have been 7.5 weeks (no growth since 5). Had to have a D&C as my body wouldn’t let go. That was back in mid-April.

I’ve had one period since then and it now looks like I’m pregnant again! Can’t believe we’ve been so luckily to fall again so quickly.

Got a vfl yesterday at 10dpo and the line is a bit darker today at 11dpo. Pic attached has 11dpo at the top and 10dpo bottom. What a shock when I saw that line!

Anyway, I’m already feeling nervous about everything so I thought I’d make a space for people in a similar position to join. Maybe we can help to calm each others’ nerves a bit šŸ’œ

I'm spotting again šŸ˜ž I thought that was over, it's like a sudden reminder of what could go wrong.

CosmicLove · 23/07/2024 08:42

Oh @Lemonbalm8 I feel you. I've also been on and off spotting again for the past 5 days and it's gut wrenching each time I wipe. I think you had a confirmed SCH so a little spotting is probably expected in that case. I know it doesn't take that worry away but try to tell yourself the reassuring things that you would say to any of us in your shoes and remember you had a healthy scan just yesterday with an active little baby and a strong heartbeat. Sending love šŸ’› xx

Thank you lovely.
Yes exactly, my heart stops at every bathroom visit. Hopefully it's the usual, and nothing new. Yesterday at the scan they didn't mention sch, though I had also forgotten about it, so I guess they weren't looking for it. Another 10 days of waiting...

CosmicLove · 23/07/2024 10:39

@Lemonbalm8 it's so hard isn't it. My spotting was gone completely yesterday and now it's back again today a bit heavier. Still relatively light but it's the fear of it progressing. We fly home tomorrow and then scan first thing Thursday. It can't come quickly enough šŸ™

Sorry to hear you're also spotting. I feel like we have been both spotting since the start! Hope Thurs scan goes smoothly. We need to remember that it's happened from the beginning and we had some good scans so hopefully it's the same old reason whatever that may be. One of my closest friends had a tiny sch that caused her spotting and bleeding until the birth at 40+2 weeks. Hopefully we won't have that long, but it just shows some pregnancies have a bit more spotting and it's all ok. Can't stop worrying though!

CosmicLove · 23/07/2024 12:59

I know you're right! I had my first spotting at 3+6! It's definitely a worry but as you say, we've both had good scans despite spotting so need to try and stay positive. I'm so anxious though - I can't even express how badly I want it all to be okay. Only 42 ish hours to wait!

CosmicLove · 23/07/2024 13:00

Forgot to tag you @Lemonbalm8 šŸ˜‰

Very upset ladies. I've just had a call from EPU saying that the sonographer who was going to be doing my scan on Thursday is sick and they're e

CosmicLove · 23/07/2024 16:27

Sorry DD pressed my phone before finishing! EPU having to reschedule my Thursday scan. They offered me tomorrow morning but I'm flying back from Spain at midday and the next available appointment they have is Monday šŸ˜” I explained I'd been spotting since Thursday and was incredibly anxious to have a scan ASAP but she said nothing they can do. I've just taken Monday as I don't really have a choice but I am so gutted 😢

Lemonbalm8 · 23/07/2024 18:42

@CosmicLove sorry to hear that you have to wait even longer! Hopefully the wait means you'll also see much more next Monday.
I'm still spotting through the day, I am just so teary all of today, the first trimester is relentless worry after worry

jellyfish2 · 23/07/2024 18:45

@CosmicLove I'm sorry they've cancelled your scan, you'll have been so looking forward to it. Like lemonbalm says, you should be able to see more on Monday though so when clearer 🄰

@Lemonbalm8 is the spotting still really light? Are you on progesterone? When will you get another scan?

Lemonbalm8 · 23/07/2024 18:57

@jellyfish2 my next scan is end of next week. Yes I'm on progesterone and it's quite a bit of spotting today but hopefully will calm down over night.

jellyfish2 · 23/07/2024 19:20

@Lemonbalm8 I really hope it does, hopefully the next week goes in quickly until your scan. Would they scan you earlier since the spotting is continuing?

MrsB2019x · 23/07/2024 21:18

Sorry to hear you’re both spotting again, you just don’t get a break do you :(

@CosmicLove for your own peace of mind do you think you could book a last minute private scan? Just to save the agony of waiting until Monday

@Lemonbalm8 Apparently progesterone can cause spotting because it irritates the cervix, if you’re on cyclogest it can be taken up the back passage which apparently helps..? Not sure how you feel about it though, I wouldn’t fancy it šŸ˜‚

MrsB2019x · 23/07/2024 21:18

After yesterday’s mess with the booking appointment they called me back today and
booked me in for Monday. Glad something else is getting ticked off the list!

CosmicLove · 23/07/2024 21:27

@MrsB2019x it was my initial thought but I'm so scared to get bad news at a private scan. I found out my twins were nearly 2 weeks behind at a private place and I'm so nervous to go back to that situation again. It maybe sounds silly but if there's a problem, I'd rather find out under the care of EPU. So after a lot of thinking this afternoon, I think I'm just going to wait till Monday. I'll be 9+3 that day, which is exactly the date I was when my bleeding began to lose them in April. I hope it's not a bad sign.

Great you have booking appointment organised now. Mine is also Monday so it'll be a busy day! Xx

(Clears throat...)
(Sings to the tune of jingle bells...)
Rectally,
Rectally,
Rectal all the way!

In all seriousness it is so much easier, quicker, and less messy even leaving aside the bonus of not irritating your cervix. Strongly recommend.

Well that’s Christmas ruined 🤣🤣

Hi @MrsB2019x! Lovely to see you over here 😊

I’m so sorry to hear about your story - 2 losses is so tough. I have everything crossed that this is the one for you!

Your 15dpo test is looking great and amazing about the digital! šŸ˜€

Gosh yeah I can imagine the anxiety around having a scan as early as 5 weeks with the possibility they won’t be able to see anything. Hopefully they’ll be able to see a yolk sac at that stage at least. We’re all here for you!

I'm debating when I do hopefully register this pregnancy whether I tell a white lie about when my LMP was. I ovulated on CD19 and I know they base early dating on your LMP. So if I give my real LMP I’ll already be 5 days behind what they’ll see. The idea of hearing that again fills me full of fear, especially if it is truly because of late ovulation this time. I really don’t want the added stress.

So I might shift my LMP forward 4 days so that it lines up with being 2 weeks before I ovulated. It’s so silly that they strictly base early dating on ovulation happening on CD14 which is never the case for me! Does that sound crazy? šŸ˜…

Edited

I never thought about this! My cycles were regular and textbook until my MMC earlier this year. Now I ovulate quite late and my luteal phase is short.

This makes so much more sense. The whole 'you're pregnant before you've even ovulated' thing is also weird.

I know I've joined late so hi šŸ‘‹everyone. I definitely can't read through all the updates since the beginning of the thread but I was glad to see some positive updates after so much sadness, stress, and worry! Sending hope and strength to everyone still trying!

MrsB2019x · 24/07/2024 06:43

9 weeks today and woken up feeling great. I’ve felt good the last two days. Why can’t I just enjoy feeling good, it’s making me worried after feeling so shit earlier in the week!!

jellyfish2 · 24/07/2024 07:22

@CosmicLove that's why I'm hesitant about going for a private scan. At least last time it was during my 12 week scan and it all got dealt with quickly. I think I'm just going to hold off til my 12 wk (where I'll actually be 10) based on ovulation. 6+1 today and getting the nauseous feeling.

It's such a long wait isn't it! It's been more than 2 weeks since my last scan so a few more days won't hurt I guess. Xx

Oh my loves, just catching up so sorry I’ve had a crazy work week and not had a minute to come on and reply properly but I’m absolutely living for this thread and everyone’s updates.

@CosmicLove and @Lemonbalm8 thinking of you both so much having to deal with this constant spotting what an absolute nightmare šŸ˜”@CosmicLove so sorry your bloody scans been cancelled too I feel like you just can’t catch a break. I absolutely feel you on the not wanting to go private - I also had a private scan where they said all was well and it wasn’t and I’ve always wondered if it was at the EPU if they would have spotted something, but hey ho. But that’s also why I’m waiting for my 12 week scan so I feel you. Definitely nothing to worry about it being the same day as your previous bleeding, that’s just your anxious mind being mean to you. Keep talking to us until Monday and we can keep you positive.

@Persipan well I wasn’t expecting to get jingle bells stuck in my head today but thank you for this absolute musical gift 🤣

not much to report here. I’m 7W5D and v much getting to the point of where it all started to go wrong the first time but telling myself I’ve had a healthy baby since then. I’ve had quite bad MS which I’m absolutely thrilled about, still taking my BBT each morning like a mad woman and it’s still high, and eating every 2 hours or so, so the weight gain is gonna be unreal but IDGAF. Sending love to you all!

jellyfish2 · 24/07/2024 12:41

Has anyone experienced blurred vision? I had ten mins of blurred vision which was quite concerning. I remember having this in my last pregnancy with the MMC which has made me panic and think the worst. I had something to eat and it's gone, not sure if blood sugars could cause it or something else?

Beks96 · 24/07/2024 12:49

Im so sorry I've been quiet, I had convinced myself it was all over for us and didn't have anything positive to say at all, didn't want to trigger anyone and had had enough of it all.

@Lemonbalm8 & @CosmicLove I'm really sorry that you've been spotting, I am too as well and it's not nice as it's a constant visual reminder. It's horrible but is not always a correlation to what we first think. @CosmicLove I'm really sorry that they've cancelled your scan, I hope the time passes quickly for youā¤ļø

I have just been to the EPU and there's a healthy heartbeat and all looking 'perfect', no trace of bleeding in the uterus. They said I'm measuring 7+1 but my app says 8. I am trying not to overthink it too much as I do ovulate late but I'm still worrying. They reassured me and said they're not concerned at all. It brought us a bit of relief for now, but can't shake the anxiety.

One of the nurses mentioned maybe being prescribed cyclogest and I said yes. But I just don't know what to expect with it, has anyone used it before? Would it be better to insert in the 'back bum'?
