Hello!

I know there are quite a few threads like this, but thought I’d start a new one for those of us going through this just now šŸ™‚

I found out about my MMC at what should have been 7.5 weeks (no growth since 5). Had to have a D&C as my body wouldn’t let go. That was back in mid-April.

I’ve had one period since then and it now looks like I’m pregnant again! Can’t believe we’ve been so luckily to fall again so quickly.

Got a vfl yesterday at 10dpo and the line is a bit darker today at 11dpo. Pic attached has 11dpo at the top and 10dpo bottom. What a shock when I saw that line!

Anyway, I’m already feeling nervous about everything so I thought I’d make a space for people in a similar position to join. Maybe we can help to calm each others’ nerves a bit šŸ’œ

Hi @purplecolouroffunk im sorry to hear about your previous loss. I had a chemical last month, although not as stressful as your loss. I am now 4+4 and also nervous so would love to keep you company 🌈

Savingformat · 19/06/2024 20:15

@purplecolouroffunk and congratulations on your new pregnancy! X

CosmicLove · 19/06/2024 20:25

Hi again @purplecolouroffunk so sad to read your full story. My experience was similar and also mid-April. I found out at a scan when should've been 7+5 that I was only measuring 6 weeks. I was supposed to go back from rescan after 2 weeks to confirm no growth, in case it was just that my dates were out, but unfortunately I never made it and started bleeding at what would've been 9+3. Unfortunately I bled so much I had to have surgical evacuation and a blood transfusion. It was a twin pregnancy and I've really struggled to come to terms with losing what could have been.

However I've now had vfl today and yesterday so I'm hoping beyond hope that this one sticks and all goes well.

Huge congratulations to both you and @Savingformat! Fingers crossed for us all. Are either of you having any symptoms yet?

When is af due for you @purplecolouroffunk?

Sending love and positivity ā¤ļø

Savingformat · 19/06/2024 20:39

@CosmicLove I’m so sorry to hear your loss, that sounds like a very difficult ordeal to go through, are you seeking any support?

aww wow, a huge congratulations on your BFP, I will keep everything crossed for you that this is a sticky bean šŸ¤ž

I will be due 24th feb if I’m lucky to progress. What about you? Xx

purplecolouroffunk · 19/06/2024 20:42

Hi @Savingformat! I’m so sorry to hear about your loss too. A chemical is absolutely stressful. So glad to hear that you’re pregnant again too - congratulations!

How are you feeling about everything?

I think we can definitely keep each other company here 😊

Hello again @CosmicLove!

God I’m so so sorry to read your story. Losing twins must be even more tough, and then the physical ordeal that you went through too. You’re super tough for getting through that šŸ’œ

It’s funny that we are on a very similar timeline too. I can 100% sympathise with that feeling of what could have been. It really took me a while to stop feeling angry about that. One of the worst things I found about the whole thing was when my hormones started to level out, I was having crazy mood swings and it was horrible.

I’m so worried about having tested a bit early and that I ending up having a chemical or something. I can’t quite believe it’s real. My body really wanted to hang on to that pregnancy before, so I’m hoping that’ll be the same this time but with a healthy pregnancy.

AF is due on Saturday for me.

@Savingformat @purplecolouroffunk thank you ladies. It's been a tough time for sure (for all of us by the sounds of things). I'm not seeking support formally but my partner is very supportive and I've confided in my mum a lot, which has helped. I already have an 18mo daughter and she's been amazing for making me get on with things and keeping my mind busy. I honestly don't know how I would've coped otherwise.

Af due Friday for me and I would be due 28th Feb based on LMP if all goes well. I tested early like this last time and obviously that ended badly. With my DD it was only missing a period that made me test as we weren't actively tracking / trying - just not not trying if that makes sense! My pregnancy with DD was normal and healthy, so it really hit me hard to have the mmc as I never thought for a moment that it would happen. Just hoping that everything goes smoothly this time. I read an article about a big study that had been done and it showed that women were less likely to miscarry, if they conceived within the first 3 months following a miscarriage. So that's positive for us!

I've been having some cramps. Quite bad ones last Friday that made me say to DP "I wonder if my period is going to come early" and then again today. Anyone else having any cramps or twinges? Xx

purplecolouroffunk · 19/06/2024 21:13

@CosmicLove I’m so glad that you’ve got good support and that looking after your daughter helped you. It’s just something you sort of feel like happens to other people isn’t it? My partner and family have incredibly supportive and I feel so thankful for them. This would be my first child.

Oh yes I’ve heard about that article! It did make me feel better. I’m trying not to worry about all the women on Mumsnet who have had multiple MCs. I think there’s just a disproportionate amount of us here cause it’s a place to come for support.

I’ve had next to no symptoms really! The only thing that made me a bit suspicious was that I’ve had a few shooting pains in my nipples which was an unfamiliar feeling. In my last pregnancy my boobs were so sore and huge by about 7dpo but they’re much less sore this time and not as big. I guess every pregnancy is different though!

I’ve had a few cramps on and off over the past week but nothing too painful, just a few twinges and slight ovary pain sometimes. I’m convinced the egg came from my left ovary cause of the ovulation pain šŸ˜‚

I’ll be due 1 March if everything works out šŸ™‚

@purplecolouroffunk I'm glad you've got good support from your partner and his family too. Are you planning to keep testing or just going with the flow? I was planning to wait and get a CB digital to do on Saturday if af definitely doesn't come, but I'm already thinking of testing again in the morning! I wish I could relax a bit more xx

purplecolouroffunk · 19/06/2024 23:24

@CosmicLove I feel exactly the same. I can’t decide whether to keep testing or not. I think I’ll maybe do another one tomorrow and Friday to see how the line goes. And then on Sunday assuming AF doesn’t show I’ll maybe get a non-strip test. We’re going to London at the weekend so I hope that’ll be a good distraction.

I wish I could relax too. The first time round there was just so much excitement cause we had no reason to assume everything wouldn’t be okay.

I flit between feeling certain that things are going to end badly again, to feelings of ā€˜you just have to assume everything will be okay until you know otherwise’.

We also had an offer accepted on a house yesterday which was the same day as my VFL so it’s been a crazy week!

@CosmicLove did you end up telling any family or friends last time you were pregnant?

@CosmicLove did you end up telling any family or friends last time you were pregnant?

Not really. We told our mums, our best friends (another couple) and my auntie. It was quite a relief not to have to tell loads of people or bad news. I think this time, if all goes well, we'll only tell our mums till after screening/scans are done. How about you? Xx

That's exciting about the house! It's all happening ā˜ŗļø I'm also swinging between worst case scenario and thinking everything will be okay. Just trying to tell myself not to worry as it won't change the outcome. Just have to keep healthy and keep hoping. On that note, time to try and get some rest before DD wakes up!

CosmicLove · 20/06/2024 07:42

Morning ladies, me again. I've done another test this morning (wish I hadn't) and unfortunately I don't have any line progression. With af due tomorrow, I would've thought my line would be stronger than this. @Savingformat is this what it was like for you when you had a chemical? I've attached photos of my last 3 days of testing. I don't think it's looking good šŸ˜”

Morning @CosmicLove . I do see line progression on your tests, and your still very early to test so don’t loose hope šŸ¤ž but my line stayed light for 10 days so I knew it wasn’t progressing. Maybe test in a few days once you’ve missed your period. I hope you’re ok 😘

CosmicLove · 20/06/2024 08:06

Thank you @Savingformat how late was your af in the end with the chemical? Xx

Savingformat · 20/06/2024 08:18

@CosmicLove urm, around 1 week late. I was 5 weeks when I started bleeding. Xx

CosmicLove · 20/06/2024 08:28

Okay thank you. I only have one cheapie test left so might do that tomorrow and then wait it out and review on Monday. Such a lot of worry ā˜¹ļø

Yeah we told my parents and partner’s parents, and one of my best friends who has a 7 month year old so had just been through it all.

Had intended to tell a couple of my other good friends (one of which is currently nearly 6 months pregnant) but it all happened so fast that I didn’t get the chance to see them in person to tell them.

Totally agree that it was good not having to tell too many people about the miscarriage. I think we’ll probably tell our parents and my best pal again this time (assuming no early loss).

purplecolouroffunk · 20/06/2024 09:31

@CosmicLove I can see progression in your tests! It might be that it’s still just a bit early and your hCG levels aren’t too high yet. Try not to panic if you can - easier said than done though I know.

Sometimes a second pee of the day test weirdly gives people a better result? You could try your last one later today, and order some more easy@home tests which might arrive tomorrow?

There’s been very little progression for me in my line between yesterday and today (11 vs 12dpo).

@CosmicLove @purplecolouroffunk i agree, second morning wee seems to be the best x

MrsB2019x · 20/06/2024 10:29

Thanks for the invite @purplecolouroffunk , and congrats everyone! šŸ’–

My background is an ectopic in 2020, I had my DD in 2021, and had a MMC in February this year (we went to the 12 week scan to be told baby had stopped growing at 8.5 weeks). I had retained products so had surgery in April to remove those.

Fast forward to now, I tested positive on Sunday at 11dpo, I have been worried about line progression but today’s test was a bit more reassuring and I got 2-3 weeks on a digital too. AF was due yesterday.

Because of my history EPU are scanning me next Wednesday, I’ll only be 5 weeks on the nose so I’m quite anxious they won’t see anything, which won’t help!

If everything goes well I’ll be due 26th Feb, it’s nice to be able to talk to other ladies with a similar due date without the official-ness of joining a due date group šŸ˜‚

Sending lots of positive vibes for rainbow babies 🌈

Hi @MrsB2019x! Lovely to see you over here 😊

I’m so sorry to hear about your story - 2 losses is so tough. I have everything crossed that this is the one for you!

Your 15dpo test is looking great and amazing about the digital! šŸ˜€

Gosh yeah I can imagine the anxiety around having a scan as early as 5 weeks with the possibility they won’t be able to see anything. Hopefully they’ll be able to see a yolk sac at that stage at least. We’re all here for you!

I'm debating when I do hopefully register this pregnancy whether I tell a white lie about when my LMP was. I ovulated on CD19 and I know they base early dating on your LMP. So if I give my real LMP I’ll already be 5 days behind what they’ll see. The idea of hearing that again fills me full of fear, especially if it is truly because of late ovulation this time. I really don’t want the added stress.

So I might shift my LMP forward 4 days so that it lines up with being 2 weeks before I ovulated. It’s so silly that they strictly base early dating on ovulation happening on CD14 which is never the case for me! Does that sound crazy? šŸ˜…

Thank you guys for the reassurance. @purplecolouroffunk your line is looking stronger today for sure. That's a good sign!

@MrsB2019x I'm so sorry for your losses. I can't imagine how hard that must have been to find out at the dating scan, thinking everything would be okay. Congratulations on your recent BFP - your line today is looking like it's progressing well ā¤ļø

CosmicLove · 20/06/2024 12:26

@purplecolouroffunk I took your advice and have done my last cheapie and I think the line looks a little darker than this morning. What do you guys think? The one on the far right is most recent xx
