Hello!

I know there are quite a few threads like this, but thought I’d start a new one for those of us going through this just now šŸ™‚

I found out about my MMC at what should have been 7.5 weeks (no growth since 5). Had to have a D&C as my body wouldn’t let go. That was back in mid-April.

I’ve had one period since then and it now looks like I’m pregnant again! Can’t believe we’ve been so luckily to fall again so quickly.

Got a vfl yesterday at 10dpo and the line is a bit darker today at 11dpo. Pic attached has 11dpo at the top and 10dpo bottom. What a shock when I saw that line!

Anyway, I’m already feeling nervous about everything so I thought I’d make a space for people in a similar position to join. Maybe we can help to calm each others’ nerves a bit šŸ’œ

Welcome @Bubbles19818 and congrats! Your line progression looks great. I don’t know what MFI is but sorry you have that hanging over your head šŸ˜” do you think you’ll book an early scan too?

@purplecolouroffunk These were my tests for my ectopic so they were decent! Didn't really progress but they were strong-ish lines to start with so I wasn’t fussed at the time 😐 The pain started a couple of days after my BFP and ramped up really quickly

@CosmicLove Sorry you’re feeling anxious šŸ˜” if it helps mine was the same on Wednesday when AF was due, super crampy and spotting. You’re not out until you know you’re out. But it’s so hard to stay optimistic when you’ve been through loss before! Hoping for the best outcome for you x

Thank you šŸ™ are you still having the spotting now? Your line today looked good - is it getting darker each day for you, despite spotting? Xx

MrsB2019x · 21/06/2024 19:27

@CosmicLove Yeah still spotting now, it’s not getting any worse but not getting any better either? I had a patch of dark pink on Tuesday but it’s just been brown ever since (sorry for tmi!!!)

Tests seem to be getting darker now despite the spotting and having barely any progression to begin with. These are the tests from Weds/Thurs/today (14/15/16dpo). People say spotting is normal but it’s so anxiety inducing that even progressing tests aren’t giving me that much reassurance 🄓

Have you got pics of your tests?

@MrsB2019x nothing is tmi for me don't worry! I'm similar, a little pink but mostly brown. This was Tuesday to Thursday tests

@MrsB2019x it really is so anxiety inducing! Are you still having cramps or have they gone? Xx

@CosmicLove Today’s is definitely looking darker than yesterday’s šŸ˜€

Thank you. I'll test again tomorrow and see how it's looking, if af doesn't come on fully overnight. It's so light - I don't even need to wear anything. It's just there when I wipe. I'm still very crampy. @MrsB2019x are your cramps continuing? Xx

purplecolouroffunk · 22/06/2024 09:17

@CosmicLove so sorry you’re not feeling great about things. I definitely think your line from yesterday is looking darker though! How are you doing today? How is your cramping? Definitely a good sign that AF hasn’t arrived. šŸ’œ

@MrsB2019x your line from yesterday is looking great! I intentionally didn’t bring any tests away with me this weekend, but already can’t wait to test again when I get home on Monday šŸ˜‚

I’ve been getting some little cramps every now and then, but more like twinges. Trying to move on from worrying about an ectopic and assuming everything is okay unless I hear otherwise.

Maybe a bit early but is anyone planning on going for an early scan? I had spotting last time so was able to go to the EPU, but always thought I’d probably book a private scan around 7-8 weeks when I fell again.

CosmicLove · 22/06/2024 09:34

Thanks @purplecolouroffunk I still have very light spotting (brown) this morning but no sign of full blown af yet which I'm clinging onto! Cramps feel like they've settled a bit too. If my lines continue to darken each day, I'll probably call EPU on Monday. I don't think they'll scan me till 6 weeks but it might give me some peace of mind even just to speak to someone. Here is my line from today. It's still not a dye stealer but I think it's slightly darker than yesterday. What do you think?

Hope you have a lovely time in London. A good way to keep your mind busy! Are you doing some fun things while you're there? Xx

MrsB2019x · 22/06/2024 11:07

@purplecolouroffunk We’ve got a scan booked for Wednesday at 5 weeks with EPU, hopefully they will book us in another one a couple of weeks after to check progression but if not I’ll definitely book one at 9 weeks or so. Our MMC baby passed at 8.5 weeks so I’d like to check in around that time 😬 are you planning to have one?

@CosmicLove That line is looking darker again šŸ˜„

Bubbles19818 · 22/06/2024 11:31

Thank you all for your lovely welcome.

@CosmicLove - I’m sorry you’re feeling so anxious. I do think your lines are getting darker and cramping and spotting are both so normal, but I know how hard it is to quieten those doubts and fears. Definitely call the EPU, I think anything you can do to make you feel better at a time like this is worth doing!

@Savingformat i don’t know where you live, but I live in London so there are loads of places that offer private blood tests. I’ve gone to one of the early scan pregnancy places as they had a deal on two tests 48hrs apart to check HCG levels are rising correctly. Still anxiously waiting on the the first test result and have my second test tomorrow morning.

@MrsB2019x - I’m sorry to hear about your ectopic. That must have been so scary. Your latest tests look great though & fingers crossed for your scan next week. We’re def going to do early scans and the EPU did say we could come in at 6 weeks when I was there for my miscarriage for an early reassurance scan. Just not sure when to go in as don’t want to go in too early and see nothing and then be more worried. I’ve had early scans in all my pregnancies and the last one I knew at 6 weeks it wasn’t going to end well as the scan was showing a few days behind and the heart beat was 90. I felt so rubbish between the next scan and not sure I can put myself through that again, but also will need reassurance. It’s so tricky!

MFI is male factor infertility - my husband has high levels of DNA fragmentation in his sperm which makes miscarriage high risk. Really wish I didn’t know this as def not helping the anxiety, but equally he does have some good sperm so hoping a goodun made it to the egg this time.

@purplecolouroffunk hope you have a fun and suitably distracting weekend in London.

Here's my line progression on Boots early tests from 5-10dp5dt (at 10 minutes after testing), for the curious.

I also have been away in London for a couple of days - pro tip for anyone in the same position, maybe don't keep your positive pregnancy tests right at the top of your bag if visiting museums/galleries, or you, too, may inadvertently fling one at the bemused bag check guard in Tate Modern šŸ˜‚

Thank you Ladies ā¤ļø unfortunately it's become a bit more than spotting for me in the past couple of hours. A bit pink and now more red. So I think it's been a chemical for me. I will see how things progress over the weekend.

@Savingformat and anyone else who has had a chemical - how quickly did your lines begin to fade once you began bleeding?

I think this is definitely looking a bit darker again! Good idea to call the EPU. They wouldn’t scan me til 6 weeks last time which was a bit of a horrible wait, but hopefully you’ll be able to do that too.

Thank you. We went to see Swan Lake last night which was just incredible! Not good for all my emotions šŸ˜‚

Oh that’s great that you have a 5 week scan booked. That mustn’t be too long away? Can totally understand why you’d want to have one around 8-9 weeks.

I’m really not sure what we’ll do. I was fully expecting my spotting not to stop but it did about 10dpo, so I’m not sure I’ll be able to go to the EPU unless it comes back.

We were thinking about booking a private scan for 8 weeks or something, so that it’s a bit later there would be less ambiguity about dating etc, but that feels soo long away. If something is wrong I’d much rather know sooner. But then they warn you about going too early. I also hate the idea of getting bad news at one of those private places - would much rather it was the NHS. Hard to know what to do!

Oh @CosmicLove I’m sorry to hear about your bleeding. If it helps at all, in my last pregnancy I had spotting/bleeding from about 2dpo right up until shortly before they found the MMC. It was even so red at 9/10dpo that I’d discounted myself out and just assumed my period was early - so don’t count yourself out!

I know my last story didn’t end well, but it doesn’t seem that the bleeding was indicative of anything cause my body very much wanted to hold on!

Take it easy if you can - we’re here for you šŸ’œ

Lemonbalm8 · 22/06/2024 23:32

Hello šŸ‘‹šŸ»
I found out I'm pregnant about a week ago. Thankful to have found this thread. I know there is nothing I can do to change the outcome, but I feel so alone during this time.

I had 3 losses last year but have a little boy from before that who is 3.

I've been doing line progression but stopped yesterday as I didn't want to add to my anxiety.

Wish everyone best of luck! šŸ¤žšŸ»

I booked a scan at nearly 7 weeks. I hope for the best.
The only thing is I've literally had no symptoms, unless you count the headache on dpo 9 which prompted me to test. This worries me a lot as even with MCs I had symptoms.

MrsB2019x · 23/06/2024 08:06

@Lemonbalm8 I have zero symptoms too, no sore boobs, nothing! It’s making me pretty anxious too. I’m stopping line progression too now. Just got a digital left to hopefully get my 3+ next week. How many weeks are you?

CosmicLove · 23/06/2024 08:15

Morning ladies, a wee update from me. My pink spotting stayed light all afternoon yesterday and eventually stopped in the evening. I'm still feeling quite crampy and have some lower back twinges but I think my line is a tiny bit darker today. I'll attach. Still preparing for the worst but keeping everything crossed šŸ¤žšŸ™

Good news @CosmicLove and I think that line today is darker too, especially if you compare it with your test from 2 days ago it’s loads darker! šŸ¤ž
