I noticed the other thread was full and have started a new one.

Lovely to hear of everyone’s 20 week scans. Thanks to those of you who gave me a list of baby essentials, very helpful!

Hope you’re all doing well!

Hi All. I’m also due in July (I’m 19 weeks today). My anxiety is so bad and I wondered if you could share your current pregnancies. I barely have a bump and what I do have is more to the top and hasn’t got any bigger in last 2 weeks. My 20 week scan is next week but I haven’t felt baby move yet, I’m worried she’s not breathing and tbh I don’t feel pregnant. No cramps, No cravings, No sickness. It’s also my first baby. Is this all normal? X

In a very similar boat to you! I’d probably say no symptoms is not always a bad thing. Some people have said they don’t feel baby movements till 21 weeks plus anyway. Whether your placenta is anterior or posterior can make a difference too.

@Cattattack Thank you for replying! At my 12 week scan they mentioned posterior so maybe that’s why

Just checking in here! Haven't been very active on the last thread.

I'm coming up to 21 weeks now and finally starting to feel less anxious after my 20 week scan. They couldn't measure soemthing to do with baby's ankles so I have to go back in two weeks for a rescan - I'm sure everything is fine though.

Oh goodness!! I went to reply to someone on the thread which is now full. They asked if I knew boy or girl from todays scan, the suspense 🤣

Thank you for starting the new thread 🥰

btw, I’m having a girl!

Thanks for starting the new thread! I had my 20 week scan last week but had to go back on Monday as they couldn't see everything, all is fine though :) my husband was busy so my dad took me, it was nice to him to get to see his new grandson!

Nothing much to report, just awake with DS as usual occasionally in the night. (He's back asleep, at least.)

I am starting to feel more regular movements, so that's nice! I notice it mainly at night when I'm getting settled into bed. I remember from last time I tended to feel more movements after eating anything or drinking cold things and in the evenings.

I have an appointment with the colposcopy department later today to check on cervix. I've been under their care for what feels like years now, following an abnormal smear test. They have done biopsies in the past, and once did a procedure to remove some abnormal cells, but this time I think is for checking on the length of the cervix.

Morning all. Thanks foe the new thread.
DS woke up at 4am teething and unwell now I am wide awake! Pregnancy insomnia is annoying.
I have my scan start of March. Lots of emotions.
I been feeling baby at night mainly not every day though. I've had a few hard "kicks".
@justanotherlaura probably positional I hear the midwife complain that the babies are not cooperating and it is normal to have rescans.
@AimeeLou84 is this your first? Normal totally normal not to feel anything until 24weeks. It varies and the midwife wouldnt be concerned. But you could call up amd they may reassure you all is ok. Having no symptoms is not a bad thing some women don't. Did you bring it up at your 16week apt? Posterior means at the back. And Anterior placenta at the front would cushion movements.

@justanotherlaura & @Jess725 congrats on finding out what your having. Lovely to have someone with you. I will be going alone. During COVID they allowed DH so first time doing this alone. Might be prep for me having the baby alone to.

@Bluebonnet3 oooo good luck with the apt. Hope all is well. But good thing they are keeping an eye on you still.

@MixedCouple Morning. Yea it’s my first. I did bring up at 16 week appointment and she said it’s totally normal. I booked a private scan and saw her and heard heartbeat but that was over 3 weeks ago. My belly isn’t getting any bigger and tbh I don’t look pregnant. It’s worrying me that something has happened but I’m not sure where to go or what to do. I have my 20 week scan Wednesday

Hey just checking in. Thanks for the new thread

20 week scan was fine so also feeling quite relieved.

@AimeeLou84 I'd wait for your 20 week scan and just try to keep busy - hard though that is. As the others have said, it really is fine not to be feeling anything at this point with your first. Also with my first, I didn't really get a proper bump until quite late on. Annoying as it is, you can't really control what's happening in there. Was chatting to my sonographer to see if they did anymore routine scans and she said that we've become too reliant on them and sometimes we just need to trust in nature a bit more.

@Savvy21 Thanks hun. I think it’s because my tummy isn’t growing and I’ve got no symptoms now, first trimester was so hard. Feeling sick, absolutely shattered and going off foods. Now it just feels too easy

wannabe123 · 22/02/2024 06:44

@AimeeLou84 I didn't feel any kicks with my first but literally the night after my 20 week scan I felt them. It was like once I knew where baby was my body felt them. It's an awful wait but try to keep busy.

Thanks for making the new thread @Oatmilktea I can’t believe we’ve filled another one already! Ahh @Jess725 it was me that asked you, been waiting in suspense over here 😂 so glad that everything went well and a little girl is lovely news, same here💗🙌🏼

I know it’s difficult not to worry @AimeeLou84 but it’s quite normal not to have any symptoms at this stage. I would say my only real symptom now is heartburn and I started feeling movement over the last week or so, (I’m 20+3 now) but they’re so tiny at this stage that it’s really hard to tell whether it’s the baby at first! I only tend to feel her when I’m lay in bed and concentrating, when I’m busy and on the go I don’t feel the movement as it’s so gentle.

I’m currently on holiday and getting a bit embarrassed of the stares at my stomach, I think people are trying to work out if I’m pregnant or got a beer belly 🙃🙃🙃

Thank you for the new thread!

I did have to reply to some folks but can't tag them until they post..😅

How's everyone doing? I had a little burst of energy today even though I didn't sleep well last night. My mum is going to stay with us for the last week of the month because my husband has to work late and didn't want me to be alone. So I've been cleaning all morning when I take breaks from work.

Also I jumped on the scale today and I've already gained 7 pounds 😅 I checked a calculator and it said it's nothing out of the ordinary but this is the fastest I've gained weight in the span of 4 months.. except maybe covid. I've started going on evening walks though. Not for my weight, just to get some air. Going to start dumbbell exercises because my arms are getting loooose

Second baby, anterior placenta - I have been feeling some kicks since about 15-16 weeks, but it's only become more reliable this week (18 weeks). Especially first thing in the morning, and often after I have eaten. Same as some others: one day I will feel the baby quite frequently, and then nothing for 2 days! At this stage you really have to focus as well, and figure out the difference between regular digestion lol; I wouldn't feel anything while walking around or doing dishes. It worries me a lot, but then I remember that (hopefully) I am going to be fed up with it in a month or two haha.

With my first baby, posterior placenta, I started feeling movement around 16 weeks as well, so quite comparable actually. To me it mostly feels like sort of elbowing, skin-poking, stretching, and rolling... I have no idea what people mean by flutters!

Don't feel any 'symptoms' now either, apart from some enduring nausa when I am out of breath or take out the bins ha. Last pregnancy it scared me so much when I finally started to feel better around 16-17 weeks (noooot 12 weeks btw!). But now I am relieved to have a break!

Batteries on my scales are dead, and I have no plans to replace them lol.

I too have felt baby, thought I was going mad but defo felt her rolling over, so a big movement only at around 12 weeks (posterior placenta, although NHS 12 week scan said anterior, confirmed posterior at private scan) then nothing for a while. then since about 15 weeks it's been getting stronger, had a couple days where I haven't felt her which was terrifying, but 17+5 now and last night she was on one 😂

I have read a lot of threads though where movement doesn't start until 20+ weeks, so I don't think it's anything to worry about just yet!

Hi All,

Just got back from my scan, everything is healthy and feel very reassured. I'm having a baby girl 💕💓💞 Which means all of the dreams I've been having about baby girls were correct! I'm super excited, I even cried tears of joy. Baby girl was drinking and stretching and kicking.

Also, just on the topic of no symptoms - I still haven't had any symptoms throughout the whole pregnancy. My baby girl does kick quite a lot now though.

My belly only really starting to look 'pregnant' this week at 20weeks. I can still hide it.

My resting heart rate is much higher than before though!

Hope everyone else's upcoming scans go well ❤️❤️

Another girl! Amazing news on the healthy bub! My family told me I was having a boy even though I was convinced very early on I was having a girl so I just started to believe everyone was right, even had baby boy dreams! Very shocked to learn yesterday I am having a girl 💖
Enjoy your day celebrating the excitement!!!!!! 😍

@Jess725 thank you!

Awwww congratulations on your girl too! 💓
Your intuition was correct even though the dreams were boys 🥰 Hope everything else is well!

I took the morning off work & I've now spent all morning on tiktok looking at matching mum and daughter outfits lol
I would've been equally happy with a boy, but knowing it's a girl helps my imagination a bit more

so happy to read about so many good 20w scans! How exciting we hit our halfway!!!
My scan is in 2w time and I really can’t wait now!

is it normal to feel anxious for the scan? I’m petrified out of nowhere that they will find something that’s not right😭

Thanks for the new thread!

So lovely to hear all these updates 🥰

I caved and went for a private scan yesterday as they had a cancellation and I couldn't resist!
Both babies totally fine 🥰 I can only feel one moving but the other twin has an anterior placenta. Twin 1 is on the bottom and twin 2 is sat on top.. makes sense now for what I can feel.. I thought they were side by side 😂
We got a glimpse in 4d it was amazing to see 🥰
Defo going to keep the genders a surprise ❤️

Defo starting to get a bit of a bump now ☺️ the exhaustion the last 2 days has been awful, had quite a bit of aches and pains so think it's everything stretching more.. I'm thinking I really need to focus a bit more on what I'm eating too; last week I had meal prepped my lunches with more fruit and veg and I felt loads better. Perhaps the convenience food this week is not helping with the tiredness either 😅😂
