I noticed the other thread was full and have started a new one.

Lovely to hear of everyone’s 20 week scans. Thanks to those of you who gave me a list of baby essentials, very helpful!

Me too! We already have 3 girls so hoping for a boy but I think it will be another girl 😂

I’m undecided about the birth too. Part of me thinks elective c section may be best for me for a few reasons. I’m under consultant led care but they have said I could do either so will just see how things go.

Has anyone done hypnobirthing before? A few people have recommended the Positive Birth Company to me so may look into that.

I actually quite enjoyed the online course from the positive birth company, especially because it was little short videos I could convince my partner to sit down and watch with me. And I also quite like the Facebook group with birth stories it gets you access to. Worth it if you come across a sale.

The most useful thing though are the breathing exercises, which you can find anywhere online/on YouTube. Personally I found the affirmations and meditations absolutely pointless (I am not that sort of person), and following their birth plan template just left me super disappointed when my birth went off the rails.

So this week's new wild pregnancy symptom is vivid dreams. I have the craziest dreams, with people who would never be in the same room together. Something wild always happens in the dream that sets me off and I wake up with an awful headache on my left side (from the front right up to the nape of my neck) and heart palpitations. I'm resting and calm but I can feel my heart in my face.

I did a hypnobirthing/pregnancy yoga class with my first. I found learning about what actually happens to the body during labour really helpful. I ended up having a c-section due to a breech baby so didn't put anything into practice.

I had my 20 week scan on Thursday and everything is fine. Also I’m feeling jr move regularly now so feeling much less anxious. Feels like I can start buying stuff now ☺️

Recap because I joined the last thread late: due July 11th, got DD2.5 already and I know this one’s a boy from the NIPT. Had an mmc last summer, older mum (41 now).

Oh yeah, and was a HG sufferer, but off the meds now and nausea free as of last week - yay!!!!

Had 20 week scan today and all looking good!

@Amberellaella good to hear your HG has settled! I'm still on meds and throwing up daily! So nice to hear there may be light at the end of the tunnel!

Oh no @missmoosh! Have you had any let up at all? I really hope it settles for you soon. x

Carpal tunnel in both my hands is driving me nuts 😭 there's always something 🙄 haven't felt bubs move for a few days but HB still ok on the Doppler so I presume they've moved but really wish I could feel something everyday

I think I'm going through what you mentioned about seeming like you're getting ill. Had a dry throat the past 2 days after I woke up and today it's a full blown infection. So don't ignore the signs I guess.. I did because I would be better after having hot water. I hope you're feeling better..

@Amberellaella i had a few days a couple weeks ago where it stopped, so reduced by one tablet a day. And it came back and hasn't gone since, even with going back up on the meds! Thankfully it's only a couple of times in the morning now!

@ceruleansky mine hasn't progressed into an illness thankfully! Sorry to hear yours has! I think mine is as I'm getting a dry nose over night, so sleeping with my mouth open more. Which is drying it out and just generally messing my sleep up! Hope you feel better soon!

I have dreadful lower back pain. It went when I was changing the bed sheets. Feels a bit like sciatica as it shoots into my left thigh but walking around rolling over etc all incredibly painful. Got a maternity support band from Amazon but it's so painful.
I was signed off work for two weeks with frozen shoulder a month ago. They won't take too kindly to being off with my back. Never had any issues in my first pregnancy. I wonder if this is an age situation (I am 41). So fed up.

@Nocoffeenotalkie I’ve definitely fared worse this pregnancy as well - headaches, back pain, just generally feeling more knackered. I put it down to age (41) and also running around after DD.

I’m just taking time off when I need it anyway - I think it’s illegal for work to have a problem with it if it’s pregnancy related.

That's exactly what's happening to me. Nose has been so dry that there's dry blood. I never ever sleep with my mouth open but DH said he noticed I've been sleeping with it slightly open which I think is drying my throat. I've been nursing it and just trying to ensure it doesn't turn into a cold.

@ceruleansky i keep meaning to pick up some vaseline, as I read that if you pop a bit in your nose it helps stop it getting so dry. However baby brain....i keep forgetting to pick some up 😂

I have Vaseline! But I've certainly never used it IN my nose.. 🤣 it's worth a try!
How are you now? Do you feel the baby yet?

@ceruleansky i am convinced we have some somewhere as well! I just don't know where it is! Hahaa yeah, I think it said put a bit on some cotton bud and gently put a little bit just inside the nostril (wouldn't go too deep!) 😂😂😂
I am doing alright, haven't thrown up today which has been a treat! Yes been feeling her for a couple weeks more clearly, no real pattern yet, and some very quiet days! What about you???
