I noticed the other thread was full and have started a new one.

Lovely to hear of everyone’s 20 week scans. Thanks to those of you who gave me a list of baby essentials, very helpful!

Hope you’re all doing well!

@CB2805 I'm also the same, she said everything yesterday looked fine, but I don't know if they would tell me much if they seen something wrong or not. She showed us the 4 chambers of the heart, and some of the other organs etc.
It's totally natural to worry I think! The next 2 weeks will fly by 🥰

CB2805 · 22/02/2024 13:48

@User491 oh so glad scan showed everything is fine❤️ what type of scan did you book? I’m honestly ready to cave as well and book a private one but most of the ones that I had already are like oh there is twin 1 there is twin 2 lovely movement and heartbeat bye now🤣

also well done for holding off the temptation of finding genders, the second a sonographer said would you like to know I was yes please😭

Nocoffeenotalkie · 22/02/2024 13:52

Just out of interest. How many girls Vs boys do we have now?
I feel like we have had a real flurry of girls recently.

@AimeeLou84 I have quite a bump but am also anxiously waiting for the 20 weeks scan. I don't really feel movement and also have a posterior placenta (it's also my second so I had hoped I'd clearly recognise movement now) the whole not being able to see for yourself part it's worrisome. It's been lovely if we could just take a peek when we needed reassurance wouldn't it!

AimeeLou84 · 22/02/2024 14:00

@Nocoffeenotalkie Omg yes. I was tempted to book another private for Saturday but they say to keep scans 2 weeks apart. I just want to know she’s all good in there.
Which I hadn’t mentioned No symptoms though, now got headache and diarrhoea 🫣🤣

Jess725 · 22/02/2024 15:09

@ExpectantEs

awww thank you! 💖 It is crazy that intuition leads in these scenarios!

Please keep us updated on your twinning mommy daughter outfits! I'm really getting into it too 😆❤️

ceruleansky · 22/02/2024 17:41

I've experienced discomfort since I went for a walk today. I don't know what it is. It got worse after I ate. Does anyone else feel their tummy just expanding a lot (the part below the navel is my small bump and the part above the navel gets huge after meals) and getting really TIGHT after eating? I feel it especially before bed.
I had all kinds of aches below my tummy today. Also a really weird pain just to the right of my navel but can't figure out what causes it.
I think I'll skip my walk tomorrow. 😞

wannabe123 · 22/02/2024 17:57

@Nocoffeenotalkie a thread I was on when I was pregnant with my 3 year old created a list of everyone with their due dates and either 🩵🩷💛 (yellow being a surprise) definitely think it would be useful to keep up with everyone haha! I think we've got quite a few twinning due dates too. Not sure I have the brain space to organise though 😂

AimeeLou84 · 22/02/2024 18:55

@ceruleansky So this is my issue and panic. It’s my first baby I’m 19+1 and my tummy below my navel is just a small bump (but I did have a bit of a belly before). But the bit above my navel is where it’s grown a tad and at night it’s rock solid but by morning gone down. I just look like I’ve had a good pig out and not pregnant. Have you felt baby yet? I haven’t an panicking

Morningcoffeeaddict · 22/02/2024 19:59

Hi everyone and thanks for creating the thread! Lovely reading all these scan and gender updates!

@wannabe123 - the thread I was on with my three year old someone did that too. It was lovely, but I also lack the brain space to organise it! Brain fog has been awful for me!

@ceruleansky - yes on the tight tummy. I’m constantly rubbing it just because it feels like it’s stretching and all the skin is too tight a lot if the time. I’ve got a bump cream I’ve been rubbing on in the evening which is nice although I’m sure they’re a placebo

plantlover34 · 22/02/2024 23:44

Hello everyone, this is my first time posting here! Due 9th July

I just had my 20 week scan today, I am really relieved that everything is looking healthy because I haven't felt any kicks yet, as I see a few pp also have not!

I kinda had my heart set on a girl, but there it was on the ultrasound screen, a big old willy. Is anyone else very happy or a little miffed after finding out the gender? I think I'll get over it in a few days, trying to focus on the positives!

ceruleansky · 23/02/2024 02:03

@AimeeLou84
Yes it's the same!! So it's normal then, I guess? I've felt baby fluttering about. And clear kicks/punches 2 days ago in the middle of my stomach, just below the navel.

@Morningcoffeeaddict
Same here! I don't know why it gets that way at night.. very uncomfortable and feels unnatural. I'm sure it will help with stretch marks, my skin around my chest has also been getting dry. I oil my torso twice a day.

wannabe123 · 23/02/2024 06:56

@plantlover34 I really wanted a girl too but am having a boy. I felt a bit of sadness as we will be done at 2 children but then I thought about how 2 sons are going to be best friends and instead of matching with my daughter, my sons can just match with each other!

Morningcoffeeaddict · 23/02/2024 07:06

@ceruleansky - yes my skin is really dry too! Had a massage last night and the therapist commented on it (I’ve been going to her for ages not a random stranger raising it) so it can’t be just in my head!

@wannabe123 thats a lovely way of looking at it. We find out on Tuesday (although suspect it’s a second boy) and would love it if they grow up close. When DH was stressing about the age gap one of his customers said her husband and his bro are 4 years apart and talk multiple times a day still as men in their 40s - we’d love it if our kids grow up the same.

BananaHammock23 · 23/02/2024 07:23

@plantlover34 did the sonographer confirm the gender or are you just going by what you saw? Could it have been the cord or something?

I think it's natural to be disappointed if it doesn't go the way you'd hoped. This is the main reason we're not finding out what gender the baby is! I know when they're here I'll be so relieved they're here and safe I won't care what they are. But if I was to find out now and it wasn't a girl (I already hsve DS3) I'd feel differently!

plantlover34 · 23/02/2024 07:26

@wannabe123 that is a really lovely way of thinking about it, thank you, also congratulations!

I'm also imagining all of the active things he will want to do as he is growing up (I hope!) - camping and cycling and paddle boarding, etc. which girls can do too ofc but it's helping me get on board!

plantlover34 · 23/02/2024 07:31

@BananaHammock23 yeah, both the student and supervisor both said boy and they both sounded very sure!

Ooh that is amazing finding out at the birth! Will you buy gender neutral clothes for the first month or so (or longer) just to be prepared for both?

User491 · 23/02/2024 10:09

@CB2805 it was just a normal ultrasound well Being check appointment with a 4d glimpse. Does your clinic offer them? I didn't expect her to go through showing us all the organs etc so it was quite interesting!
It's just so temping to keep having them isn't it 🥰
Haha I honestly can't believe I did say just tell me what they are 😆

@ceruleansky I have difference of days, Wednesday I was so uncomfortable, I literally felt so many aches/pains and on a night I'm so bloated it's crazy. Then feel loads better today, it's so weird. I think it must just be everything stretching etc.
just take each day as it comes and see how you feel 🙂

CB2805 · 23/02/2024 11:22

@User491 oh now that makes sense, you having your scans in your clinic? I had a transfer abroad so I stick to private companies available out there but I can’t say I can trust them really?
I know right? It’s addictive😭 but me and my partner just decided to stick and wait for our NHS scan for now.

Nocoffeenotalkie · 23/02/2024 11:25

@Morningcoffeeaddict and @wannabe123 we could put our own due dates and genders and other could add to it?

Nocoffenotalkie due date 22nd July (but not allowed past 39 weeks - 15th July) 🩷

Morningcoffeeaddict · 23/02/2024 11:31

That’s a good idea, adding to it:

@Nocoffeenotalkie - due date 22nd July (but not allowed past 39 weeks - 15th July) 🩷
Morningcoffeeaddict - due 23rd July (also not passing 39w - 16th July) 💛

Bali200 · 23/02/2024 11:55

Yess @Jess725 I think me you and @ExpectantEs are all due on the 8th and are all expecting girls! 💗💗💗 So funny about the dreams, I dreamt the night before my 20 week scan that the private scan was wrong and I was going to be told it was actually a boy at the nhs one 🤣 but it didn’t happen though!

User491 · 23/02/2024 12:09

@CB2805 yeh It's just a private clinic that's local to me that I went for the private scan and got 4d, not the clinic I had the IVF through,
Yeh it will honestly fly by, only a week on Wednesday for us both 🥰

ceruleansky · 23/02/2024 12:41

Just stepped on the scale and I've gained 9 pounds!! I'm only 17 weeks. I don't know if I've really been eating that much. 😕

@Morningcoffeeaddict
Yeah true, the dry skin kinda makes my nipple burn? It's something I've never felt in all my 32 years. I think pregnancy is just varying different kinds of pain and discomfort for 9 months. 😅

@User491
I understand what you mean, I also have some good days but the off days are once every 2 days I guess. And if I plan to do something like clean or reaarange stuff, that's when I get sick. 🤣

CB2805 · 23/02/2024 12:55

@ceruleansky 9pounds I think it’s not that bad tbh for 17weeks. I’m 19weeks and gained 24pounds already it’s shocking!! My diet haven’t changed that much either besides adding another meal as I feel sick if I haven’t eaten for too long.
my body is not enjoying the weight gain, I’m quite petite and never in my life had so much weight on!

CB2805 · 23/02/2024 12:58

@User491 just a week from Wednesday🫶🏻 that was a nice way to put it, it feels like less waiting🤭
