Hi all! I'm 4 weeks exactly today, due date is 4th August ☺️ This will (hopefully) be DC2!

How is everyone feeling? I've got sore boobs, mild cramps and waves of nausea that I didn't get until week 6 with my DD so I guess it's starting early, lucky me 🥳

@EMJL I second being exhausted! Don't remember being this tired with my first, but I've fallen asleep in front of the telly a couple of times this week already!

I've just put a request in to book my midwife appointment, but I have a feeling I'll be told to get in touch again closer to the 8 week mark.

My DH is being very protective/nurturing atm which is really nice.

Sunny1986 · 04/12/2023 08:53

Just started a new August thread as could spot this one!! Hello all!! Tentatively joining - just got my bfp and this will be my 2nd baby. We have a 2 year old boy and vvvvvery tentatively excited for number 2. I had a miscarriage (8 weeks) last Christmas so I am really nervous 😬

Sunny1986 · 04/12/2023 08:54

Oh and DD by LMP would be 7 August

EMJL · 04/12/2023 09:59

@fr4zzledmum oh absolutely! A couple of nights I've put my son to bed and have curled up on the sofa with a blanket, next thing I know my partner is waking me up at 10 telling me to go to bed 😂

I haven't yet referred to the midwives, I'm 4 weeks today. Was thinking of doing it next week, but I have put a request for higher dose of folic acid from the GP this morning as I have a higher BMI.

Still feels very surreal and I'm trying not to get to ahead of myself yet after my chemical at 5 weeks in October.

Isitisit · 04/12/2023 10:12

Hey all.

4 weeks 4 days here, hoping for a first baby.
I started bleeding at this time with my miscarriage so am trying to keep myself distracted.

Ive self referred and was called the very next day to schedule my booking appt and an early scan due to type 1 diabetes.

Hope everyone is feeling well!

SunSparkle · 04/12/2023 11:12

@Isitisit how many weeks do they scan you when you have diabetes? Is it regular scans?

SunSparkle · 04/12/2023 11:13

I'm on prophylactic medication for Hyperemesis in the hope we can keep it under control this time. I had it in both my previous pregnancies. My sickness normally kicks in at 5.5 to 6 weeks and I'm 5 weeks today. I've been trying to enjoy eating all the foods that I know will be off the menu very soon so tons of spicy things and rich foods.

fr4zzledmum · 04/12/2023 11:24

@EMJL same for me, I've just been given a prescription for higher folic acid from my GP, got to pick it up later!

Been given the midwife's number so will try them later (when I'm by myself in the office).

EMJL · 04/12/2023 11:33

@fr4zzledmum I'm picking mine up after work too! My area say you can self refer from 4 weeks but I think I'll give it another week or so just to be sure!

Looking forward to sharing this journey! I might look into setting up a Due in August 24 Facebook page if anyone would be interested? I was in a group when pregnant with my son and we all still are involved 2 and a half years later.

SnookyPook · 04/12/2023 11:37

@EMJL I'm still in a group from my son too. I'd love to join but probably will do so after 12wk scan. 💕

EMJL · 04/12/2023 12:01

@SnookyPook definitely! I'll wait until after Christmas time and then think about setting up a group 💕

Keen for this! My November 2021 baby Facebook group is still very active and it's such a safe space 💕

EMJL · 04/12/2023 13:02

@Sunny1986 exactly this! I've had so much advice and support from the lovely ladies in my May 2021 group and we're all still going strong!

I'll definitely look into setting something up in the new year xxx

Isitisit · 04/12/2023 15:29

@SunSparkle They do an early scan in the EPU at 6/7 weeks. Having stable blood sugar in the first trimester makes the biggest difference so they try and get on top of it asap.

I’m up for a fb group in Jan!

Sunny1986 · 04/12/2023 16:07

I was telling myself I'd wait a week or so until I can get hold of a clear blue digital but I've just registered the pregnancy on my maternity teams website. Eeeek!

CharTT33 · 04/12/2023 16:35

@SunSparkle i would love to join after my 12 week scan xxx

etaketak1991 · 04/12/2023 17:16

@EMJL Yes that sounds like a great idea ☺️

I am SO bloaty today, fortunately can hide it under a big jumper 😂
@warmbutteredtoast I'm 5+1 and have been nauseous since ovulation 🤢 I've recently found I have one moment in the morning while I get rapid heartbeat, shakes, urge to throw up - then it passes and I'm generally fine for the rest of the day. Joys!!

I’d love a fb group in Jan too! Would be lovely to have a supportive group of friends to go on this journey with. All ok here I think - still have mild period like cramps and paranoid that I’m going to start bleeding after the MMC in 2021 (exactly the same dates as this pregnancy which is a bit weird and woo!) I’ve registered on our maternity online portal thing so hopefully will hear about blood tests etc. Told my boss today too, she’s lovely and I wanted her to know in case anything goes wrong again this time. Hope everyone else is ok xx

Prettyinred · 04/12/2023 17:38

One of my symptoms is the change in my sleeping patterns. I’m absolutely exhausted all the time but find it hard to fall asleep and waking up super early most mornings. Normally I can easily go back to sleep if I wake up early but can’t seem to do this now.
I'm definitely not a morning person.

Bugs22mk · 04/12/2023 17:55

Hi everyone,
I found out I was pregnant a few days ago so I am 4 weeks with my first.
None of my friends of siblings have children so would love to join as it’s all very new to me! :)

graceinc22 · 04/12/2023 18:11

Feel so tired today, really flagging in working this afternoon. Part of me thinks it’s psychological and I shouldn’t really be this tired only 4 weeks in. 😂

CurlyWurly1991 · 04/12/2023 19:02

Having waves of exhaustion here too. Feel ok in the morning but by 5/6 or earlier I’m done for the day. Also getting some mood swings that are unusual …. I had a tough first trimester with my first with unrelenting nausea that probably kicked in around 5w. Hoping to avoid it with b6, ginger supplements and eating protein regularly throughout the day.
I’ve booked a flu jab for tomorrow and covid-19 and for next week. Feel a bit uncomfortable about getting jabs at this point simply because it’s such early days in the pregnancy but am assured they are totally safe. I haven’t had either vaccine this winter and am mixing a lot with people, and I really don’t want to get these viruses so trying to be proactive …

fr4zzledmum · 04/12/2023 19:04

I think I might be having a chemical pregnancy 🫤 Just been to the toilet and wiped to see red on the paper (nothing in the toilet and no clots yet - looked like how I'd usually see as my period began).

Hoping it's maybe implantation related but I really doubt it as I'm 4+3 today.

I haven't mentioned anything to DH yet.

etaketak1991 · 04/12/2023 19:12

@fr4zzledmum Spotting isn't unusual this early on. Keeping all my fingers crossed for you 🤞 ❤️

@fr4zzledmum its never what anyone wants to see when they go to the loo. Sending love and keeping everything crossed that it is just a bit of spotting.
