Hi all! I'm 4 weeks exactly today, due date is 4th August ☺️ This will (hopefully) be DC2!

How is everyone feeling? I've got sore boobs, mild cramps and waves of nausea that I didn't get until week 6 with my DD so I guess it's starting early, lucky me 🥳

Hello!!
I'm jumping on the August train! I'm 5 weeks 3 days now and have my first scan in 2 weeks. So far I've done 2 beta hcg tests just to check if hcg is rising. No symptoms yet, I had severe cramping last week. But I've been fine the last few days.

How is everyone doing?

SunSparkle · 30/11/2023 06:48

@Elg90 were almost the same! I have an almost 3 year old and had a miscarriage in June. I really hope this one sticks for both of us.

fsr111 · 30/11/2023 07:14

Hey guys! Congratulations to so many of you! Hope you don't mind me joining, had a BFP last weekend after 2.5 years of trying and two rounds of IVF. I'm so excited, but also fairly anxious as still such early days. Currently 4 weeks, 6 days, due date is 2 August and this will be DC2 for us. Am exhausted, thirsty, nauseous and boobs are so heavy they feel like they could fall off! Looking forward to chatting with you all! 🥰

dg3131 · 30/11/2023 07:39

Hi, joining this thread. 'm 5 weeks and due 1st august so only just made the cut off 😂 had awful cramping last week but this week feeling completely normal with minimal symptoms. Going to book an early scan for in a few weeks. This will be my second child :) xx

You're the same as me, but I've been crampy this week and it's making me very anxious.
I'm 5 weeks today and due 1st aug too 💙

fr4zzledmum · 30/11/2023 13:20

Hi all, can I join? Tested positive today, after TTC for three months. Due date 9th August 24.

I already have a DD, who is nearly 5.

Honestly, I felt terrified when I saw the result, as I had convinced myself I couldn't fall pregnant again (massive weight gain and possible early PCOS). I suffered quite badly with undiagnosed PND with my daughter, and it's taken me 4.5 years to finally think I might not be 'one and done'.

I'm so anxious already about another bout of PND, but I recently opened up to DH about the true extent of it, so I have a wider safety net now. I'll be raising with the midwife too.

Pixiedust138 · 28/11/2023 11:57

What symptoms is everyone having at the moment?

I'm only 4 weeks tomorrow so early days yet, and so far nothing.

If I remember rightly though, I don't think I had any symptoms and nausea until I was around 6-7 weeks with my DD.

fr4zzledmum · 30/11/2023 13:25

@Pixiedust138
Has anyone thought about when they will announce since it’s so close to Christmas? We have so many family get togethers coming up and I don’t know how I’m going to hide it 🙈

I'll only just be 8 weeks at the end of December, so I don't think I'll be making a Christmas announcement. I also want my daughter to know first and don't want to risk telling her too soon in case the worst happens. So I reckon we won't be telling anyone until after the 12-week scan (it's going to be a long wait!).

I was just saying the same to my DH - not sure how I'll get away with explaining no alcohol. I'm genuinely thinking of emptying a bottle of wine and filling it with non alcoholic wine.

SunSparkle · 30/11/2023 20:39

For those worried about Christmas drinking, last time I said I’d been put on medication for stomach issues I’d been having and most people bought it. The stomach issues were hyperemesis but they didn’t know that then.

also last Christmas I had Covid just before and didn’t drink a drop over Christmas as I was so knackered still. So maybe say you’re just getting over covid and can’t handle the booze! Covid is bound to be rife at Christmas so will make sense to people.

etaketak1991 · 01/12/2023 08:08

I've worked out that the bad nausea I was having was caused by the pregnacare plus vitamins I've been taking! I didn't take them last night, just folic acid on its own, and although I still have the usual stomach cramps, the nausea and diarrhea has gone 😂 Regretting buying 6 packs when they were on offer on Amazon! Google says its likely the omega 3 tablet that's making me poorly, so I'll just try the vitamin tablet tonight with dinner and see if I'm still ill with it. Has anyone else noticed this?

SunSparkle · 01/12/2023 08:48

I have never been able to stomach pregnancy vitamins. they make me feel horrendous. So I just take separate supplements instead. The iron in Pregnacare in particular is well known for causing stomach issues - I take Iron Bisglycinate instead as it's much gentler and better absorbed.

dindot · 01/12/2023 16:01

@etaketak1991 I take those vitamins and have found that taking them just before I go to bed helps as I'm asleep while my body is breaking them down.

In my first pregnancy, I was taking them in the morning and feeling nauseous for hours afterwards but once I forgot and took them at night and noticed I felt better the next day.

ElizaGolightly · 01/12/2023 16:05

Hi! Congrats to everyone, hoping we all have a sticky ones! Tested this morning and got my BFP. I've been very tired, sore boobs and some pain which is similar to previous pregnancies so thinking it's just stretching.
I have a girl who has just turned 2 and am due August 5th. Bit worried as I miscarried last year at 9 weeks. I've already decided I want an early scan at 8 weeks as then I'll have a positive experience with this little bean to keep the anxiety at bay round the 9 week mark.

I've no idea how I'm going to manage to host Christmas without them guessing as I'm not a big drinker but I'm usually an avid goats' cheese fan so that'll be a big giveaway!

etaketak1991 · 01/12/2023 16:10

@SunSparkle Ah, that's a good call! If the vitamin tablets on their own are still upsetting my stomach, I'll return what I can and try it the individual way.

@dindot I was already taking them with dinner (about 7:30pm) so was hoping they wouldn't affect me so much! Turns out the nausea hasn't completely gone (made a strong appearance at midday toddler group), but I do think they were making it worse, especially in the morning.

etaketak1991 · 01/12/2023 16:13

@ElizaGolightly Congratulations on the BFP! I forgot about unpasteurised cheese 😩 And cured meats!! I think that's definitely going to be harder to cover up. Good luck!

Hi ladies,

Hope you don't mind me joining! I got my BFP this morning for baby no2. I already have a 2.5 yr old DS.

I had a chemical pregnancy at the beginning of October so being cautious and trying not to get my hopes up too much.

Expected due date is 12th August 🥰

Happy to have others to share this journey with!

Slowcookertea · 01/12/2023 19:17

Just going to jump on here too!

I am due on August 4th, I’m currently 4 weeks 5 days I think.

I’m going to get an early scan on NYE (I’ll be 9 weeks then!) and if it’s good news, tell my family when we get together in the first week of January! It will still be early but it’s the only time we’ll be all together.

Over Christmas, I’ll be driving some grandparents around which helps the no drinking - my issue will be the cheese 😭 cheese is one of my favourite things about Christmas and my family know it 😂

Good luck everyone going forward, really excited to start to see early scans from people 🥰

CharTT33 · 01/12/2023 20:56

Hey ladies,

so glad I found this thread! I’m pregnant 4 weeks 4 day due August 6th.

i have had 3 MC. I really want this baby! Sending baby dust to everyone!

Welshgal85 · 01/12/2023 21:24

Can I join too please? 😊

Due early august with our first and am 4 weeks at the moment. Not sure how many days but think almost 5 weeks.

My symptoms have been nausea all day last week, dizziness and lots of cramps. This week just nausea in the evenings and very sore boobs!

Zelda18 · 01/12/2023 21:33

Hi everyone 👋

Hope it's ok for me to join.
I got a positive test on Sunday at 10dpo and couldn't believe it! It's our first time TTC, second cycle so seems like we have been very lucky. My cycles are irregular and usually long so was expecting it to take a while. I've tested every day since just to make sure! I'm 4+4, due August 5th.

I had a phone call appointment with my GP (already booked in about something else) and she said to call for a midwife appointment when I'm about 6 weeks, I don't know what to do with myself til then!

I feel mostly normal other than some very mild cramps.. so interesting to read everyone's symptoms and how much they vary. Feeling very new to all this so great to have this thread 🥰

graceinc22 · 01/12/2023 22:07

Hello everyone! 👋

Tested positive today at 13dpo - I think I’m due 11th august? (Or maybe 10th - fertility friend and nhs website give different results).

Cannot believe I’m pregnant - lost our first baby at 11 weeks 6 days back in august (2 days before our 12 week scan). It was a real struggle to get pregnant with that baby, over a year and it was the third cycle of ovulation induction medication. This one, it happened on the first cycle of mediation - feel so lucky. Praying that it’s a textbook, boring pregnancy where nothing goes wrong and we get to meet our little one xx

Due August 2024!
graceinc22 · 01/12/2023 22:11

@CRbear hey! Really related to your post - I also had PCOS, had a miscarriage first time round, and then took forever to ovulate afterward. I found it so discouraging the doctors saying they expected my period within 4-6 weeks… when it got 8 weeks after and I still hasn’t ovulated let alone got my period, it just felt like my body was in hibernation!! In the end, ovulated on day 57. I’m impressed you kept going even further on! Ultimately even a late ovulation is still an ovulation and clearly worked for you! ❤️

fr4zzledmum · 01/12/2023 22:22

Okay so sore boobs and quite uncomfortable cramps have started this evening.

I'm only 4 weeks today, so I'm hoping it sticks.

You need to take vitamin D tablets too, if it's just folic acid on its own. My midwife told me on my booking appointment back in March xx
