Hi all! I'm 4 weeks exactly today, due date is 4th August ☺️ This will (hopefully) be DC2!

How is everyone feeling? I've got sore boobs, mild cramps and waves of nausea that I didn't get until week 6 with my DD so I guess it's starting early, lucky me 🥳

@MrsH1990 Don't worry, they're the boots folic acid with vitamin D ☺️ I just took the pregnacare vitamin (without the omega 3) and felt normal levels of sickness today, so it seems like it's just the fish oil that was making things worse!

Ah okay that's good!
I didn't realise I need them last time, so soon as i found out I was pregnant this time I've been talking both folic acid and Vitamin D! Hoping this is a sticky one this time.
Also I've just cried for no reason 🤣🙈 bloody hormones ha ! X

fr4zzledmum · 02/12/2023 20:01

Is anyone taking the increased dose of folic acid? I've read it's recommended for those with a high BMI (me), and you need to get it on prescription.

SunSparkle · 02/12/2023 20:29

@fr4zzledmum yeah I do as I have a high BMI. It’s 5mg a day rather than 400micro grams. So a big difference.

they will be happy to prescribe it via your GP.

Hi all, glad to have found this thread. Think I'm 4+1 today and have a 23 month old little boy. Not looking forward to late 3rd trimester in the height of summer heat but very excited for the journey.
No real symptoms yet other than a bit of an ache back, but had gestational diabetes last time so I know I likely will again this time.

Isthisrealomgwow · 02/12/2023 21:33

Can I, tentatively, join please.

4.1 today.
Had two second trimester losses since August 22, so don't want to get too excited.

SunSparkle · 03/12/2023 08:30

@Isthisrealomgwow sending you a giant hug. That’s really tough. Are you under consultant support for this pregnancy?

CharTT33 · 03/12/2023 08:46

@Isthisrealomgwow sending hugs.. I’ve had 3 mcs… so super nervous too! Xx

Isthisrealomgwow · 03/12/2023 09:18

@SunSparkle we have been told we would be. We've got an ongoing complaint with the hospital and have been told we would be better supported if I got pregnant again.
They have offered weekly scans, if we want. And a bunch of other stuff.
@CharTT33 it's such a mix of emotions. Just want to be at 24 weeks now..

CharTT33 · 03/12/2023 09:28

It’s defo mixed emotions! Let’s just hope and pray this is our time! @Isthisrealomgwow I’ve got weekly scans too…

Isthisrealomgwow · 03/12/2023 09:30

@CharTT33 part of me wants the weekly scans, the other part doesn't. Because it won't change anything if it goes wrong.
What are your thoughts?

CurlyWurly1991 · 03/12/2023 10:32

Hi everyone, I’ve been lurking a few days and have just plucked up the courage to test this morning and got a bfp. AF due today so 4w exactly I guess. It’s our second after a big (10yr) gap. Been TTC about 7 mos and I’m 37. I’m nervous about risks because of my age so not letting myself get too carried away just yet.

does anyone know about getting the flu jab? Realised I didn’t get it this season, I normally book in privately but was worried it would affect my cycle regularity which has always been an issue. I see that it’s offered free to pregnant women. Once I register as pregnant with the GP I guess flu jab can be booked?

SnookyPook · 03/12/2023 10:52

Hi everyone... I wasn't going to join just yet but I've read through and can see lots of others who are equally as tentative as me so thought I'd brave it!

I've had 3 losses this year... A MMC in April, CP in Sept and a MC/query ectopic at 7wks at end of October. I was awaiting referral to fertility clinic and had given myself a month off TTC so we could relax a bit over Christmas... But I must have ovulated later than I thought.. tested Thurs before work Christmas Do when I realised I'd not had a period yet... and got my bfp. Still disbelieving! Due Aug 6th. Got a DS who will be 3 in January.

August is feeling a very long way away. Have been offered an early scan on 21st Dec and even that feels a long way away! Really hoping that this one will be my rainbow baby 🙏🏼🌈

Currently unsure if we will tell family at Christmas or not. If scan goes well they would all be thrilled after the year we've had... But I'd still be conscious of it being early days still. Think we will have to play it by ear if we're lucky enough to get that far. 🤞🏻💕

fr4zzledmum · 03/12/2023 11:02

@CurlyWurly1991 I've been thinking about the flu jab too, only as my work pay for Staff to have it so I could get it now without making a big thing of being pregnant. I can't remember how many weeks they usually sort you a jab out though and I won't be seeing the midwife until end of Dec.

CharTT33 · 03/12/2023 11:04

@Isthisrealomgwow I'm nervous about it too but I think I’ll have it as it’s offered… I want to know everything every step of the way. I’m an anxious person either way sooo I might aswell… I just need my hand held whether good or bad… 🫣🫣

warmbutteredtoast · 03/12/2023 13:21

Hi everyone! I can't believe I'm on this group, my second baby took us 5 years, losses and IVF to finally meet. This one is unplanned but so so wanted and I can't believe I'm pregnant naturally. Isn't the body strange?! I'm due 12th August. A bit terrified about the next couple of months as I get sickness BAD and already feeling queasy at not even 4 weeks!! Sending such good wishes to everyone here, especially if you've had losses. Try to relax and take one a day at a time ❤️

GeographyTeacher · 03/12/2023 13:24

Hi everyone. I can really resonate with lots of people talking about high levels of anxiety. I had a MMC in the summer at 12 weeks and it was just so beyond awful that I don’t know how il cope again. I’m currently 5W 2D and feel the same as I did last time around.

We have an early scan next week on 6W 6D (would have been later but we’re going on holiday and then back on Christmas Eve right into family events) and I’m just so worried.

Earlier this year we had an early scan at 8W 3D but baby was only measuring 6W and 5D and even when they reassured us that the difference didn’t mean too much and was nothing to worry about…. I did think it was a big gap even with our dates. Anyway….upon discovering we’d miscarried at 12 weeks, baby looked like they didn’t live much beyond 7W so I feel like scans are a bit of a trigger/anxiety point. Reading what @Isthisrealomgwow put about how these scans don’t change anything has made me question is it even the right thing?! I don’t recall asking much about the heartbeat, only that it was there so maybe I should ask about that?

Sorry for the ramble but anxiety is very real today xx

SunSparkle · 03/12/2023 13:52

@GeographyTeacher i know what you mean about scans - they can’t save you from what may or may not happen. But in my case my MMC was discovered at 12 weeks and baby stopped growing at 9 weeks and when I found out I hated that my body had fooled me with sickness for a further 3 weeks. So for me it’s not that I think the scans will stop the worst happening, just that I want to know sooner this time. Does that make sense?

SnookyPook · 03/12/2023 15:53

@SunSparkle @GeographyTeacher I've been thinking about this a lot. My MMC was at 11+4 but baby had stopped developing at 7+5 and it was so sad thinking I'd been carrying them round for a month without knowing. Because of my recurrent losses, hospital have offered me an early scan anyway at (I think) about 7+2... It's a weird one because in my head, that still won't be past the danger point. But I think every reassurance along the way that 'right now, I'm pregnant, and it's going as well as can be' just needs to be enjoyed. What will be will be regardless. I will definitely be feeling massive scanxiety though!

ElizaGolightly · 03/12/2023 15:59

I'm in a similar position with anxiety but I chose not to have scans last time and only knew that baby had stopped growing at 9 weeks when I started bleeding and was scanned at 11 weeks. So I want the scan this time as even if the worst happens, I'll have a happy experience to remember with little one. I'm going to try to wait until 8w to get scanned though so that a heartbeat is a possibility as apparently once that is found, the risk goes right down?

Keeping fingers crossed for all of you! Tiredness has really kicked in here. Trying to remind myself not to overdo it.

ChildrenOfTheQuorn · 03/12/2023 16:21

I'm planning to have the NIPT this time around which means I won't bother having a scan until 10 weeks (as it's included). My booking appointment has come through (yay) for when I'm around 8 weeks.

GeographyTeacher · 03/12/2023 16:34

@SunSparkle Yes I felt that too! I actually felt a decline in my symptoms but just thought I’d ‘gotten’ lucky when in fact baby’s heart had stopped. I think you’re right, knowing us better than not knowing and I’d rather find out early on than keep thinking I’m pregnant for another month or so.

@SnookyPook Im sorry for your recurrent loses but pleased you’re getting extra scans. I do agree, I do want to enjoy this pregnancy and am trying to take each day as it comes.

@ElizaGolightly Yes you’re right, it’s better to know and enjoy what you can. I had a heartbeat a 6W5D, although I thought I was further along so you should be good by 8 weeks, fingers crossed. I’m also feeling very tired today!

HappySunday1 · 03/12/2023 19:04

Exactly the same age 29 with endometriosis thought it was my period starting but found it strange the pain wasn’t as bad as it normally is on my period.

warmbutteredtoast · 03/12/2023 21:40

Oh man is anyone else already feeling sick?! I'm 4 weeks tmw and feeling so sick!! 🤢

EMJL · 03/12/2023 21:44

@warmbutteredtoast I'm 4 weeks tomorrow too! We must have the same due date? Not feeling sick yet but feeling absolutely exhausted like I could fall asleep at any point!
