Hi all! I'm 4 weeks exactly today, due date is 4th August ☺️ This will (hopefully) be DC2!

How is everyone feeling? I've got sore boobs, mild cramps and waves of nausea that I didn't get until week 6 with my DD so I guess it's starting early, lucky me 🥳

@Pixiedust138 I'm terrible at keeping good news secret and told my immediate family straight away 😂 I'll let everyone else know sometime in the new year.

@GeographyTeacher I'm so sorry, that sounds tough. We're here if you need to talk ❤️

I've been struggling today with nausea, exhaustion and a sociopathic 3yo who doesn't understand that mummy is ill/tired 🤪 I looked into letting the GP know but they want me to go via the NHS website which doesn't accept referrals until 5 weeks. A job for the weekend ☺️

@Pixiedust138 I am having the worst insomnia! I couldn't stay asleep for more than an hour last night. Also very very sore boobs.

I think we are going to tell close family at Christmas too, will be around 7/8 weeks I think but I ovulated quite late in my cycle so I'm unsure exactly! Scan defo won't be til Jan anyway

Maybepossibly22 · 28/11/2023 12:44

Confirmed on a clear blue digital today (2-3 weeks with pretty much no hold at all!) so hopefully this is a sticky bean and we will be staying with you all until August x

Due August 2024!
CRbear · 28/11/2023 12:51

We waited until 8 weeks to tell immediate family last time and then miscarried. This time we’re telling them before 5 weeks at a family occasion because a) it’s going to be so hard to hide not drinking in December and b) we might as well have the support as would tell them if we miscarried again.

SunSparkle · 28/11/2023 14:50

We didn't tell family last time - and found out at 12 weeks we had miscarried. We're quite private and our family would be more fuss than help with a miscarriage so we won't be telling them early this time around either.

GeographyTeacher · 28/11/2023 16:53

@Pixiedust138 Symptoms are sore and tender boobs, tiredness and my hunger is through the roof. My sense of smell is also very sensitive too.

@newjourney21 I also have insomnia, I’ve not slept well for several nights now. I’ve also had the weirdest and most vivid dreams.

We’ve booked a scan for 6 weeks 6 days as we’re due to go abroad and I think it would give us some piece of mind. Also telling our families at Christmas …I’m nervous as I never got to tell them last time, only the sad news that we’d miscarried.

ChildrenOfTheQuorn · 28/11/2023 19:16

I feel like my hand is being forced. I really really don't want to announce it at Christmas as I feel its too early for me (I would be more comfortable at 12 weeks), but they're going to twig straight away if I'm not drinking. Both his side and mine. That's how they guessed last time!!!

etaketak1991 · 28/11/2023 19:46

@ChildrenOfTheQuorn Could you say you're on antibiotics? That's the excuse I used last time 😂

OP posts:
ChildrenOfTheQuorn · 28/11/2023 20:07

The excuse I had last time was 'I'm driving so DH can drink.' And then DH would not even have a beer. I was fuming that he wouldn't play along convincingly 🤣 I'm a terrible liar, it'd have to be something adjacent to the truth!

MrsM21 · 28/11/2023 20:11

Hi! Hope you don’t mind me joining, I’m due 3rd August with DC2! I’m planning on an early scan around 7 weeks and then we’ll tell immediate family and a few close friends. Even though I’ve done this before it just doesn’t feel real!
I’ve not really had any symptoms yet apart from sore boobs and tiredness (although I’m tired all the time anyway 😂) I did have horrendous sickness and spd last time so I’m just making the most of it right now!

Pixiedust138 · 28/11/2023 20:44

@ChildrenOfTheQuorn i feel the same! Ideally I’d want to wait till 12 weeks. Last time we announced literally at 3/4 weeks because we thought we would need IVF so it was such a huge shock and family knew we were having fertility issues. I did end up wishing we’d kept it to ourselves a little longer, just to give us time to enjoy it. Also it does keep something to look forward to, telling friends and family. I don’t think it’s going to be possible to hide it at Christmas! My other half’s mum looks after our first born every week and she asks me if I’m pregnant every week anyway, she’s so suspicious!

I feel exactly the same 😂Think we are going to try and book a private scan on Christmas Eve as I’ll be 8wk3. Will be nice to show our parents, if all goes well and will tell others after 12wk scan.

I’m absolutely shattered 😴 and boobs are very tender 🤣

newjourney21 · 29/11/2023 10:01

Does anyone else have long cycles and unsure how many weeks they are? I ovulated day 22/23 but everything estimates based off a 28 day cycle, do I just minus a week?

CRbear · 29/11/2023 11:14

@newjourney21 i also have long cycles- if you know when you ovulated, you do the days since that date plus 14 to get your week. So if you’re O+14 today,14+14 is 28 days or you’re 4 weeks pregnant.

I want to register with hospital, but they ask date of last period with no comment field. I ovulated day 67 so if I tell them my last period was when it actually was they’ll assume I’m 11 weeks… rather than the 4 I know I am! I’m awfully tempted to say my last period date was two weeks before the day I know I ovulated.

MummytoO21 · 29/11/2023 14:42

Hi all, hope you don't mind me joining too !

4 weeks today with baby number 2 ! Have been trying since June and was getting a bit deflated each month !

@CRbear similar situation to you, usually have a very regular 28/29 day cycle but my last cycle I ovulated on CD49 🤷🏻‍♀️ my maternity booking form is also online and only asks for date of last period...not sure if I should change the date to make it fit to currently being 4 weeks !

newjourney21 · 29/11/2023 15:07

Thank you @CRbear! I thought the same thing on the form, there's nowhere to add anything about cycle length. You'd think there would be as short/long cycles are so common!

I'm planning to book an early scan for 22nd December ish and would be 7 weeks by ovulation date and hopefully they'll be able to tell more accurately. It's strange because I've been using my Flo app to track my long cycles for two years and as soon as I switched it to the pregnancy version it still calculated based on a 28 day cycle! It just says I was 3 weeks when I ovulated lol

Maybe when you register and get your appointment through you could call and they might be able to help a bit more with getting notes onto your record or something beforehand?

newjourney21 · 29/11/2023 15:09

@MummytoO21 I am roughly 4 weeks today too based on my ovulation, congrats!! I have just filled out the form with my last period date and then hopefully just explain my longer cycle at my appointment and should only be a week difference I think, I'm expecting due dates to change a few times anyway!!

etaketak1991 · 29/11/2023 17:21

@CRbear I had something similar last pregnancy, where the midwife called me up and questioned me about my dates as they didn't add up 😂 I had a fairly good idea of when I ovulated (wasn't tracking properly) so they went by that until the dating scan, which ended up putting me exactly where I thought I was!

How are we all doing today? I had to let a colleague know I'm pregnant as I nearly threw up in front of her at 8:50am 👍

Hey All!
I'm 5 weeks tomorrow, due 1st August!
Very nervous to join this.
I have a lb who is 4. I've had 2 mc this year, April & August. I'm hoping this sticks. 🙏🏻
I'm feeling sick, but also getting pains in my tummy so I'm hoping it's just stretching (although I don't need anymore stretching right now 🤣)
Hope all is well with everyone. Xx

GeographyTeacher · 29/11/2023 18:57

@etaketak1991 Im worried about feeling/being sick in front of my colleagues (and students!!). I had a colleague who is also a good friend guess I was pregnant because I’ve mentioned how hungry I am and she thought that was unusual for me…I’m not even 5 weeks!

My hunger has been off the scale. I’ve not long eaten dinner and I feel like I could eat another meal 😂. Anyone else?!

etaketak1991 · 29/11/2023 19:03

@GeographyTeacher I've had to tell my headteacher as there's a few cases of shingles around! I also got a few strong waves of nausea this morning during first period 😂 Managed to style it out (I hope!) I work in a girls school so they're bloodhounds for this kind of thing! Last pregnancy a student said she knew I was pregnant from 10 weeks 😱

The opposite - I've actually lost my appetite a bit!

Elg90 · 29/11/2023 20:58

Glad to finally be joining this group Smile
Have a DS who is almost 3 💙
Due 1 Aug & feeling anxious following MMC in feb and 9 months of trying. ❤️

dindot · 29/11/2023 21:25

@GeographyTeacher yes I've been constantly hungry over the past few days, needed lots of snacks to keep me going! I was quite nauseous and struggled to eat in the first trimester of my last pregnancy but I can't remember how early that kicked in.

I’m so hungry constantly! I’m even waking up in the night starving 😂

I’m finding this early stage so strange, some days I just don’t feel pregnant at all it’s difficult to believe it. I did a test again the other day just to check! I’ll feel so much better once I’ve had the first scan x
