Hi all! I'm 4 weeks exactly today, due date is 4th August ☺️ This will (hopefully) be DC2!

How is everyone feeling? I've got sore boobs, mild cramps and waves of nausea that I didn't get until week 6 with my DD so I guess it's starting early, lucky me 🥳

@SnookyPook so great to hear about your positive scan!! Must have been so lovely to see the heartbeat. And with your dates it defo sounds like you ovulated late anyway. What a lovely Christmas present x

fr4zzledmum · 22/12/2023 09:10

@Adventtime I think I've realised how reliant my body is on caffeine to poop 🙈

CurlyWurly1991 · 22/12/2023 12:25

@fr4zzledmum ugh yeah same here. I don’t know if decaf coffee has the same effect 🧐
I have gone off tea and trying to avoid proper coffee but I am missing it.

CharTT33 · 22/12/2023 13:11

Hey ladies,

Anyones else experienced diarrhoea? 🤯🤯🤯🤯

Hello98765 · 22/12/2023 14:04

So bloated all the time aha. It’s like carrying around a sack of potatoes.

Pearlandmoon · 22/12/2023 14:24

@CharTT33 yes!! I was constipated for about 5 days and then had diarrhoea for the last 3 days 🙃

@Slowcookertea @Becsim @PolkaDotDot Hope you don't mind me joining in as another teacher. I took the year last time but have since read about shared parental leave for teachers.

Basically I can take until the pay drops at Xmas as mat leave, 'return to work' over the Xmas holidays, take block one of SPL for Spring Term, 'return to work' Easter hols', block 2 SPL Summer 1, return to work for half term and block 3 SPL Summer 2. The pay remains the same within the SPL blocks as it would have been with mat leave but you are entitled to five weeks at full pay. Totally allowed - Google it :) I'm going to ask HR about it further along in my pregnancy. Your partner doesn't have to take the 'return to work' weeks as parental leave I don't think.

Happy to be corrected - keep seeing advice on some fb groups for teachers from people who have done it.

@SunSparkle I had a subchorionic haematoma with my DD. Bled most days from about 5 weeks to 11 weeks. I stopped bleeding for a few days and was cautious as to why 🙈 at my 12 week scan they confirmed the haematoma had vanished 🙏

KT86 · 22/12/2023 16:55

@ElizaGolightly in a teacher too (primary) and didn't take SPL with my first. For me though I wanted to accrue the holidays so I had longer off in total. This time though, all being well, I'd plan to officially return to normal pay in the June but not be back in work until the Aug due to the hols. I need to work out if SPL might work this time around though as accruing the holidays for time off would be less important to me!

SunSparkle · 22/12/2023 16:59

@KT86 did you have any extra scans or get prescribed progesterone? Because my scan was private I feel I don’t have any advice. Google is not my friend. I’ve not had any bleeding or spotting though. Weird.

@SnookyPook ive got a rescan on 31st to check on these areas on bleeding, another at 10 weeks (I don’t want to be surprised by a loss at my 12 week) and then whenever my NHS one is. The rescan is free by the private clinic due to the hematomas they have seen. She was very lovely to me but now I’m worried

Hi everyone,

Hope it's okay to join in. I'm just over 4 weeks and due end of August 🙂 This is my first pregnancy so everything is quite new! I've been having twinges in my lower back and pelvic area today, it feels similar to a pulled muscle. Is this normal?

TigerJoy · 22/12/2023 18:02

OMG I cannot cope with my boobs. I think they've got bigger. And so sore.

I usually only wear quite supportive stretchy crop tops and they feel both too tight and not supportive enough. Can anyone recommend a bra please???

I'm a size 16 and 36E normally

I'm about 5/6 weeks and I've been having the same. Not painful, just niggly. It was bothering me at first but someone on this thread actually reframed it for me and it's made me think differently. It's probably just a good sign that everything's happening! 🙏🏻

TigerJoy · 22/12/2023 18:10

@Lexlum I've had cramps, just like regular period cramps. I think pain in the pelvis and lower back are normal at this point.

SunSparkle · 22/12/2023 18:27

GP spoke to gynae and they’ve agreed to prescribe me progesterone to try and encourage the hematomas to be absorbed and hopefully minimise my miscarriage risk. I hope it works

TigerJoy · 22/12/2023 18:40

@SunSparkle I hope the progesterone works.

Mine is an IVF pregnancy and I'm on a shit ton of progesterone. Sending you sticky wishes

Lexlum · 22/12/2023 18:45

Thanks @bobbles4091 and @TigerJoy for replying, that is reassuring to know. I thought TTC was the nerve wracking part, turns out I'm wrong!

SunSparkle · 22/12/2023 18:45

@TigerJoy thanks for replying. Are you on the pessaries?

TigerJoy · 22/12/2023 18:56

@SunSparkle god no, the pessaries did a real number on my minky. Gave me symptoms like thrush. If you start getting redness and itching there are alternatives.

I'm on injections 3 times a day which I much prefer.

Becsim · 22/12/2023 18:57

Thank you @ElizaGolightly thats what I’m hoping to do too.

also, we’re going to save like crazy after Christmas to hopefully have a blanket.

Lexlum · 22/12/2023 19:47

Is it still possible to join the FB group? I don't see a join button so thinking it might be full.

EMJL · 22/12/2023 19:48

@Lexlum the link possibly expired!

Thanks for the new link! Sorry if I'm being stupid - I can't see anywhere to join. I've attached a screenshot.

Due August 2024!
EMJL · 22/12/2023 19:52

@Lexlum oh that's really odd! I'll have a look quickly xx

SnookyPook · 22/12/2023 19:59

@SunSparkle ah bless you - I've definitely heard of people having subchorionic haematomas and having healthy pregnancies. I guess it's a plus that they know about it early on and hopefully the progesterone will help too. Keeping everything crossed for you. It's so horrible having any additional things to worry about isn't it. 💕
