Hi all! I'm 4 weeks exactly today, due date is 4th August ☺️ This will (hopefully) be DC2!

How is everyone feeling? I've got sore boobs, mild cramps and waves of nausea that I didn't get until week 6 with my DD so I guess it's starting early, lucky me 🥳

@SnookyPook good luck today! Hope everything is perfect 🥰

EMJL · 21/12/2023 08:20

Can't believe there's already nearly 40 of us in the Facebook group!! Hopefully it will prove to be an amazing support system and we can all share this journey together.

Good luck today @SnookyPook xx

CurlyWurly1991 · 21/12/2023 08:32

@Summerness Im sorry I don’t know the answer to that, did the ultrasound place provide any guidance? I would stay away from google. perhaps it is something to discuss with the midwife if you haven’t yet scheduled the booking in appointment?

SunSparkle · 21/12/2023 08:49

So sorry to hear that @HappySunday1 . It’s devastating when it happens. Be kind to yourself.

PolkaDotDot · 21/12/2023 09:03

@HappySunday1 I'm so sorry - sending you lots of love and light ❤️ take care of yourself xxxx

@Becsim congrats! I'm guessing you work in a school too? I'm a teacher and planning on telling my head after the holidays. I work part time but already finding it really tiring so hoping they can support as much as possible.

Becsim · 21/12/2023 10:31

@PolkaDotDot yes I’m a primary school teacher. It’s my ppa and it feels
so good to be at home! I can’t wait to break off tomorrow. Im exhausted!
how long are you thinking of taking off for mat leave?

GeographyTeacher · 21/12/2023 10:33

I’ve requested to join, initials are NM. Thank you for setting it up xx

SunSparkle · 21/12/2023 10:52

Went for my scan and measuring a few days behind but that’s normal at this time where 1mm is a big difference. Strong foetal heartbeat but said there were some dark spots of bleeding in my uterus so they are rescanning in 10 days to check on those.

justlonelystars · 21/12/2023 11:31

Requested to join too, initials SJ!

Summerness · 21/12/2023 11:42

@CurlyWurly1991 the person doing the ultrasound didn't say much except that mine were on the smaller end of the spectrum. My appointment with a midwife isn't until mid-January!

I'm primary too! Bless you - not long to go! I'm still not 100% sure how long to take off. I took a whole year with DD but I'll be on much less mat pay this time round as I now work 3 days. I suppose the timing works well with the summer holidays as can always come back before the summer in 2025! How long are you planning?

Karinx · 21/12/2023 11:56

Sorry if I sound really naive, but as this is my first I have a lot to learn 🙈 I was just wondering when you are all having your first midwife appointments etc? I called them earlier this week and they said to call back to arrange an appointment in about 3 weeks (which would take me to 6 weeks +) I was hoping I could speak to someone a bit earlier than that, should I push for an apt sooner or is this normal?

Also as I'm a bit older (almost 35) I'm even more anxious about it all.

SunSparkle · 21/12/2023 12:08

@Karinx my midwife/GP says they like to do your booking in appointment at 8-10 weeks, then bloods then scan.

last time they did my booking in appointment at 6 weeks and it felt a bit early for some of the questions.

CharTT33 · 21/12/2023 12:54

@HappySunday1 I’m so sorry for your loss! Sending hugs in this difficult time x

@SnookyPook Thinking of you my love x

SnookyPook · 21/12/2023 15:05

Thanks @CharTT33 - there is a little Baby in there with a strong heartbeat ❤️ I burst into tears when they told me!

Measuring a week behind what I thought but they didn't seem worried. Also, I am pretty sure I ovulated later than usual (wasn't tracking) because we only dtd CD17 and 19 and usually my peak opk is CD13/14. So hopefully that's not too much of a worry. Really trying to enjoy this positive moment. Still a long way from feeling safe as my MMC stopped developing at 7+5... But one day at a time. Right now, in this moment it's all as good as can be. Not ectopic. Not nothing there.... A bit of breathing space for Christmas 😊

Hope everyone else is doing well ❤️

CurlyWurly1991 · 21/12/2023 16:01

@SnookyPook Ive followed your journey on the TTC 35+ threads and am so happy that you had a good scan today!! You so deserve it!! Hope you can enjoy this moment and the anxiety has lessened a little xx

my last day at work for 2 weeks today. I’m so grateful for a break as my fatigue is unreal… !

Slowcookertea · 21/12/2023 16:12

Hello all!
Some lovely news coming from scans, congratulations!

@HappySunday1 - I’m really sorry to hear your news.

I have a private scan on Sunday, I’ll be 8 weeks.

I’ve just got my NHS letter through and my first scan at the hospital is 07/02, when I’ll be 14+3. Is this not really late?! 😬 I have a very regular 28 day cycle, and was tracking so I know my dates are pretty spot on.

I’m no doubt overthinking it! 😂

thank you! ❤️

IMissMargaritas · 21/12/2023 16:40

@Karinx We share a due date :) I got my BFP this morning! We have been trying for 18 months so it's hard not to get excited 😁

warmbutteredtoast · 21/12/2023 17:25

Bit of a sad update from me. I had some very light, pink spotting this morning so I thought I may as well go to EPU today rather than wait for my scan tmw. Baby is there and has a good heartbeat but is measuring a few days small and the gestational sac was smaller than it should be. I've never heard of that but it's a pretty strong indicator of impending miscarriage 😔 I've got another scan in 2 weeks but I'm not hopeful. I'll step back from the group now, wishing you all wonderful pregnancies and beautiful August babies ❤️ Hugging my 2 extra tight tonight xx

SV12 · 21/12/2023 17:41

@warmbutteredtoast I am so sorry, I'm sending all the virtual comfort to you and yours. Take care of yourself.

SnookyPook · 21/12/2023 18:12

@warmbutteredtoast really sorry to hear that and I'm really hoping that the scan in a couple of weeks shows that things have picked up and it isn't the worst case that you're thinking. 🙏🏼💕

@Slowcookertea that is pretty late. Normally I think most Trusts like the first scan done by 14wks. I believe it's a cut-off for some of the testing they can do? My pregnancy earlier in the year my first scan was booked for 13+5 because it had to be timed to when I could see a consultant and that felt really late to me. It wouldn't be a daft thing to ring them about and query I don't think. Also sometimes you can ring for cancellations to get in a bit earlier.

NelliePig · 21/12/2023 18:20

Ooo requested to join the FB too! Don't have my last name on fb so I'm Kel 😂

Summerness · 21/12/2023 18:31

Did anyone get a scan at 5+2, see an empty sac, then see everything at a later scan? 😩

fr4zzledmum · 21/12/2023 18:37

Sorry ladies, I've got so much catching up to do on this thread!

I've now got my midwife appt booked in for when I'm 8+5, and I'm feeling constantly nauseous. Keep having flashes of "why am I putting myself through this again?!"

Cannot wait for my annual leave to start tomorrow.

EMJL · 21/12/2023 18:38

@fr4zzledmum hope you're okay! The nausea is next level isn't it? There's a link above for a Facebook group if you'd like to join xx
