@TheBirdintheCave I'd chase it up too, but also the main reason for booking is to trigger the scan letter so I wouldn't worry too much about the timing of it, but yeah chase it up!

@HashB yeah as @sweetpotato29 says, we're all anxious about things but it does depend if it's affecting your day to day then definitely ask for help, I said to my midwife I was anxious at the beginning and got 'that's normal' which it is, but if it's more than that then there is help available but you do have to ask for it...

TheBirdintheCave · 05/10/2023 19:59

@Brokenpancreas94 @suz2285 I will send them an email after the '10 working days' is up. I think that's Tuesday? 🤔 I just think it's odd that I got the scan one before the other one 😅

Brokenpancreas94 · 05/10/2023 20:02

@TheBirdintheCave yeah it is weird, I've always had booking appointment through before the scan appointment! X

suz2285 · 05/10/2023 20:13

@TheBirdintheCave our scan letter doesn't even trigger until you've seen the midwife but I know in other areas they just book the scan as soon as they receive your email or call or however you refer to the service, everywhere is so different so it's hard to say what's 'normal' for your area but def chase it up

Thanks for the new thread @tulipsunday!

17+1 now and had my latest midwife appointment today where I got to hear the heartbeat for the first time, it was just incredible - I cried!

Brokenpancreas94 · 05/10/2023 22:22

@J2023xx hearing the heartbeat really is emotional isn't it, I could just sit and listen to it all day ❤️

Hi everyone

I love this thread all sounds positive! So pleased for everyone.

im around 4 weeks pregnant, having some early test because of 3 miscarriages and 1 ectopic, but I do have a 14 year old so I no I can do it. I’ve had 3 lots of bloods taken first was 34 the second was 55 and the 3rd they was supposed to call me back yesterday morning but failed to do so, when I did rang they said a senior doctor needs to review them so I’m anxious and worried it’s not going to be good news. I’ve taken a test this morning and the line still isn’t really dark but I’m not sure if the line should be as dark as the control line does anybody know ? Sorry for the long post hopefully I get some good results today has anybody had these kind of numbers with a positive outcome? Xxx

CM123baby · 06/10/2023 05:59

This is my test this morning is it supposed to go lot darker than this? Xx

Brokenpancreas94 · 06/10/2023 08:03

@CM123baby that's a lot darker than my tests were at that stage xx

CM123baby · 06/10/2023 08:07

I just got a call to go back to repeat bloods they went from 55 to 52 I’ve not read any successful stories with dropping hcg ☹️

TheBirdintheCave · 06/10/2023 08:18

@CM123baby I'm sorry :(

Brokenpancreas94 · 06/10/2023 09:43

@CM123baby oh no I'm sorry 😔 xx

suz2285 · 06/10/2023 11:20

@CM123baby sorry to hear that, if you're getting bloods and having them reviewed by someone then you're on the radar if there is an issue... and they might be able to suggest something to help for the future? 🤞

CM123baby · 06/10/2023 11:25

Yes hopefully! U lose hope when it’s time and time again but hopefully my time will come xxx

suz2285 · 06/10/2023 11:29

@CM123baby totally and it's absolutely heartbreaking that you have to go though that more than once, please keep us up to date, we're all here for support and wishing the best for you 😘

CM123baby · 06/10/2023 11:37

Thank you so much ❤️ I will do! Im still holding on to a little bit of hope, thinking they are going to ring and say they are rising again but deep down I know it’s not true ☹️

tulipsunday · 07/10/2023 09:15

@CM123baby I don't know much about hcg numbers but just wanted to say I am sorry you are going through this stress ❤️

@CM123baby so sorry that you're having a worrying time. Are you being looked after by a recurrent miscarriage team? Are you on progesterone? If this one doesn't work out then I'd make sure your care is escalated next time. I've no experience of hcg levels really so can't comment on whether it will be ok, sorry.

PADonk · 08/10/2023 08:41

Hi All

So sorry to hijack this thread. I’m also 4 weeks, got my BFP on Friday after TTC since my mc at 10 weeks in Feb, but when I took a follow up test this morning the line doesn’t seem any darker and there was a fair amount of brown watery discharge. Has anyone had similar and gone on to be fine, or should I just prepare myself that it’s likely a chemical? I know I should just be trying to relax and what will be will be but after 8 months of TTC again I just can’t help worrying.

@CM123baby so sorry to hear you’re having such a stressful time - got everything crossed that it ends up with good news for you xx

CM123baby · 08/10/2023 09:09

@PADonk heyy thankyou, but it wasn’t good news my hcg dropped again and now I have started to pass naturally.

It’s crazy how many people go through this, im so glad I had my first young, it was that easy I just thought I could have another whenever I wanted. I was on the implant for 11 years wondering if this has anything to do with it, has anybody struggled after the implant ? But I’ve had it out for nearly 3 years now, I can easily get pregnant just can’t get passed 9/10 weeks.

CM123baby · 08/10/2023 09:13

@SparkleFly heyy I have a follow up appointment on Friday, I’m going to request a referral I had an appointment booked but because I got pregnant they cancelled it and say u have to be referred again so hopefully after this again something can be done xxx

CM123baby · 08/10/2023 09:14

@tulipsunday ❤️❤️❤️

CB23CB · 08/10/2023 09:21

Morning everyone
I wish I'd found you sooner!
I'm on my third pregnancy of the year after both a MC and a MMC.
Got my 12 week scan tomorrow and was feeling ok about it however on Thursday I started to get pain at the base of my spine. It's worse when I lie down. It was coming and going but last night it was there all night and still there this morning. All I can think of is the worst. That alongside my symptoms starting to ease (of which I didn't have many anyway) it's all just starting to worry me a little too much.
I'm hoping for reassurance tomorrow but really don't feel all that positive today.
I have having no control and I'm such a control freak!!!!!!!!

suz2285 · 08/10/2023 09:21

@CM123baby Sorry to hear that, you def should get that referral, hopefully they can help, it does sound like they might be able to suggest something 🤞

@PADonk welcome, sorry you're here though... I don't think the darkness of the lines automatically means bad news but it's just a really uncertain time where things can mean everything or nothing at all, and you just have to wait and worry 24-7.. which totally sucks! I don't think there's much any of us can say 😩 hope you're ok though x

PADonk · 08/10/2023 09:36

@suz2285 no I know - was helpful just to offload to a group who I know will understand the anxiety. Got off my bum and rang the EPU who’ve agreed to book me in for an early scan and reassured it may well just be implantation bleeding 🤞🏼

@CM123baby so sorry to hear that, really hope they can find you some answers quickly xx

@CB23CB i can imagine the anxiety before every scan must be horrendous but odds are everything’s absolutely fine - and I don’t think unusual for your symptoms to be lifting given you’re getting to end of 1st trimester. Will have everything crossed for you xx
