@Brokenpancreas94
Thank you. Congratulations to you also. I'm type 2 which I had in remission before pregnancy, no now on insulin 4x a day and taking more units than my type 1 partner. Don't think that's helping my head, my sugars arnt in range as yet! X

Brokenpancreas94 · 01/10/2023 18:57

@Kirstylvsya are you being seen by a consultant either weekly or fortnightly?? It is bloody hard being pregnant and diabetic because the hormones play havoc! I'm on so much more insulin now, but my hba1c is the lowest it's ever been, so I'm really hoping that goes in my favour this time round, as I ended up having my daughter at 34 weeks due to my sugars!

TheBirdintheCave · 01/10/2023 18:58

@SparkleFly I've just booked the NIPT privately for 10 weeks and get a scan beforehand (though that does cost a bit more).

SparkleFly · 01/10/2023 19:04

@TheBirdintheCave yeah that's probably wise just in case. Will it tell you what the gender is? Nothing was mentioned to me about it when I had my son so I'm hoping I will be eligible to get it for free. If it's not free I probably won't bother.

ChloeN · 01/10/2023 19:08

@Kirstylvsya to be fair I didn’t enjoy it until after 18 weeks when I had the anatomy scan! I got excited in the third trimester so maybe there’s hope you might too xx

Kirstylvsya · 01/10/2023 19:17

@Brokenpancreas94 yea I am. My HBA1C is okay also, what's yours? My fasting bloods and hour after bloods are the issue. They seem to come down after the hour. X

@ChloeN there's hope for me yet then lol I have an anterior placenta also no no kicks for reassurance here. Typical x

Brokenpancreas94 · 01/10/2023 19:55

@Kirstylvsya hba1c is 43, which is a bloody miracle for me because I've always been high, but I'm on an insulin pump!
If you're coming down within an hour then that's fine, when eating when do you inject? X

Kirstylvsya · 01/10/2023 19:57

@Brokenpancreas94 mine is 35 atm which I'm shocked at! 15mins before give or take; others have said try 30 mins before I'll maybe try that tomorrow x

That's really good, I'd cut yourself some slack then! How high are you spiking after meals?? X

TheBirdintheCave · 01/10/2023 20:30

@SparkleFly It can do! Husband wants to know but I don't so not sure how we're going to square that decision.

WhiteHorse92 · 01/10/2023 20:37

@Kirstylvsya I know it's common to not feel baby kicks until later and less frequently with an anterior placenta but I have an anterior and since about 20 weeks not long after the scan the baby movements became so strong and frequent, I feel strong movement constantly throughout the day and I'm sure I can feel them way more than at the same gestation in my first pregnancy, and that one was posterior placenta! So you never know hopefully in a couple of weeks the kicks will come thick and fast 🤞

Kirstylvsya · 01/10/2023 20:57

@Brokenpancreas94 it sounds good but levels never are, which I don't understand. Always around 6.5/7 in morning and as high as 12 one hour after meals. X

Kirstylvsya · 01/10/2023 20:59

@WhiteHorse92 oh that's good to know. Hopefully not long 🙏🏻 saying that I heard it's hard to find heartbeat on doooler with an anterior and midwife found it straight away, will ask to confirm the anterior at scan next week x

Brokenpancreas94 · 01/10/2023 20:59

@Kirstylvsya 6.5/7 is good! Well for a type 1 it is! 12 isn't dreadful either, but if you're dropping after the hour then it's not a massive issue, do you carb count or have a carb ratio? Maybe try and inject 30 mins before eating and see if that makes a difference x

Bookwormmumuk · 01/10/2023 21:14

@ttulipsunday yeah we will be finding out providing the baby is in a suitable position and isn't feeling shy 😂. Keeping busy is probably the best bet thanks for the advice.

suz2285 · 01/10/2023 21:14

@tulipsunday thanks for the new thread

We've had a bit of a stressful day baby has been quiet today so went to triage tonight. heartbeat, urine and bp all good and they seemed happy, he's moved more since I got home (typical!)

I had midwife on wed this week and she measured my fundal height and plotted it at like 90% but tonight the midwife measured again and it's now at like 10% a few days later so she's referred me for a scan... I'm pretty sure baby was at the back today and that's the issue with the fundal height but yeah looks like I've got a scan this week, waiting for a call to find out when! 🙈 I just had a private scan on thur and all fine, even husband is suggesting he's 'scanned out!' And I know how he feels! It's a lot of scans 😂 I was literally just saying that would probably be our last one....

Always something else to worry about!!

ChloeN · 01/10/2023 21:15

@Kirstylvsya anterior placenta for me too but I was really lucky and felt loads of movement still everyday! I was gutted when they said it was anterior 🤣

tulipsunday · 02/10/2023 13:22

@suz2285 sorry you have had that stress hope scan goes ok. Always best to check isn't it.

Chest is feeling a bit tight but not short of breath or anything so just keeping an eye on that. I remember having it with my son.

Also have an anterior placenta like others but have had good movement.

suz2285 · 02/10/2023 15:07

Thanks @tulipsunday, had a scan this morning, all good, baby still large 😂 they checked fluid, weight, measurements and Doppler of the blood flow in the umbilical and all perfect, baby back measuring in the 90th centile, all from one stupid fundal!

Came home and immediately had like a 2 hour nap, that'll make up for not sleeping much last night! Eugh!

Back to hopefully no worries for a while! 🤞🤞

tulipsunday · 02/10/2023 15:28

Oh brilliant! @suz2285

Brokenpancreas94 · 02/10/2023 15:41

Already spoken to you @suz2285 but again great news! ❤️

Why is it when baby kicks in the same place multiple times, they stop as soon as soon as you place your hand on your belly? 😂❤️

suz2285 · 02/10/2023 15:58

@Brokenpancreas94 personally I think cos they're boys and being awkward but other than that no idea 😂😂

All the apps say at this point they're meant to respond to touch sound, light etc but nah, not over here! He does what he wants! 😂🙈

Brokenpancreas94 · 02/10/2023 16:15

@suz2285 oh yeah they defo do what they want 😂😂🫣

ChloeN · 02/10/2023 16:54

@Brokenpancreas94 or when you get your camera out to film🤣🤣

Brokenpancreas94 · 02/10/2023 17:33

@ChloeN yeah or that 😂😂 typical 😂
