@PADonk oh 100% that's what we're here for, it's just a crappy time for sure! That's great about the scan, when is it? Just remember they might not be able to see much so soon but they'll be able to bring you back in again if need be they're usually super helpful 🤞🤞

@CB23CB welcome! Good luck for tomorrow, I doubt the back pain means much it might just be baby growing! 🤞 totally hear you on the control thing that's been the worst part about this whole pregnancy for me, not being able to control anything 🙈

PADonk · 08/10/2023 10:19

@suz2285 it’s not until the 24th, so trying to take comfort from the fact they were happy to book me in this early without waiting to see if there’s actually any point 🙏🏼

CB23CB · 08/10/2023 15:26

Thanks @PADonk @suz2285
The pains eased a little today, a walk round Tesco seemed to do me good. Just had a nice nap too.
Going to try and just stay as calm and chilled as I can ahead of tomorrow. Calm, what even is that though!!

suz2285 · 08/10/2023 15:30

@CB23CB scanxiety is the absolute worst! Let us know how it goes 🤞🤞

@PADonk that's good at least they've given you a date like you say! And it means they should know when you'd be able to hopefully see something reassuring rather than going too early 🤞

SparkleFly · 09/10/2023 07:07

Morning all, I woke this morning to find I'd bled a bit in the night, and red blood when I wiped. I'm going to call the EPAU as soon as they open, got my 3 year old today so will have to find childcare too. I really hope it's just that haematoma coming out and it's not going to continue. Husband got really choked when I told him 🥺 and has had to go to work worrying about it. I'm have no pains or anything so trying to stay positive 🤞

SparkleFly · 09/10/2023 07:07

@CB23CB good luck for today, let us know how it goes.

CM123baby · 09/10/2023 07:21

@SparkleFly aw hope everything is ok !! How far along are u ? Xx

SparkleFly · 09/10/2023 07:24

@CB23CB hospital seem to think I'm about 12 weeks now (I have my scan on Thursday) but I think it's more like 11. They've worked it out from last period date, not my IVF transfer date.

CM123baby · 09/10/2023 07:52

@SparkleFly hopefully u will get a scan today xx

SparkleFly · 09/10/2023 08:00

Sorry @CM123baby just realised I tagged the wrong person before! They open in a minute and bleeding seems to have stopped. I might ask for an evening appointment so I can go when husband gets home. Otherwise I have to tell MIL that I'm pregnant already in order to explain emergency childcare and she's a gossip so I'd rather not tell her!!

TheBirdintheCave · 09/10/2023 08:08

@SparkleFly It does sound like it's from the haematoma but good idea to get it checked anyway. I hope everything's ok (and that you can avoid telling MIL!) :)

CM123baby · 09/10/2023 09:03

@SparkleFly 😂 little girls are so funny like little old women. Fingers crossed for u I’m sure everything will be ok ! I’m going to call the doctors today and ask about progesterone, do u no if I would need to have tests for that to check if it’s low? X

SparkleFly · 09/10/2023 09:58

Thanks girls. First they said they can't scan on the day as they don't have a fully available sonographer but to come in later and the dr can examine me and they'll take bloods again. Then she called me back and said that they'd discussed it after my call and decided that I need a scan for reassurance more than anything, so she's got me one for tomorrow morning. She did say that they get SO many of these haematoma/cysts and they're a pain as they worry so many mums. Bleeding has stopped now anyway and was brown near the end.

TheBirdintheCave · 09/10/2023 10:02

@SparkleFly I'm glad they've agreed to scan you :)

SparkleFly · 09/10/2023 10:07

@CM123baby I'm not sure how they decide if you can have progesterone, as I'm IVF I just get it anyway. I have 3 tablets a day and 2 suppositories, lovely!

sweetpotato29 · 09/10/2023 11:43

All the best for tomorrow @SparkleFly hope that it's all ok and can ease your worry. It's such a lonely, anxious time for Mums-to-be!

I didn't get a call last week and they put results up on the app that it is all low risk so good news! We spent the weekend doing the rounds telling people our news, which really felt lovely & like we were spreading joy.

I have this worry that now we've told everyone something will go wrong, but know I have to try and keep strong/positive mindset if I can! I am 13 weeks today and keeping everything crossed 🤞🏼

suz2285 · 09/10/2023 12:08

@sweetpotato29 I still worry when telling people now and I'll be 27 weeks at the end of this week 😂 we had to tell our fam after the 12 week scan even tho I couldn't get the bloods as they couldn't scan the NT due to position and had to wait till 16 weeks for the quad test it was awful 🙈
I'm still saying to people the plan is x y and z unless baby has other ideas i.e. any other issues 🙈 glad all is good though 👌👌

@CM123baby goodness knows re the progesterone, I asked this time after my MC in March and was told not unless I was under the recurrent MC clinic, I also did a private blood test that said mine was low after MC so I was really worried and they didn't care about the private test! They just said hopefully this pregnancy will be ok! I ordered another private test after I got pregnant and the progesterone had shot up so that was good but yeah it's just a lottery of whether anyone will listen or whether they think it'll help I guess!

@SparkleFly that's good news, are they just bringing your 12 week scan forward to tomorrow?

Let us know how it goes 🤞🤞

SparkleFly · 09/10/2023 13:52

@sweetpotato29 you're over the most dangerous part now so hopefully it'll be plain sailing for you now. Although I can understand the constant dread even though you've had the 12 week scan. I can't remember if you said if this is your first or you already have one?

I don't think they're bringing my 12 week scan forward, I think it's still a separate reassurance scan tomorrow. I rechecked dates today and the furthest I could be today according to my info is 11+2, but they seem to think I'll be 12+3 on Thursday, so it'll be interesting to see what they put me as tomorrow. I hope they don't tell me it's now smaller than it should be because they've got my dates down wrong.

tulipsunday · 09/10/2023 15:08

@SparkleFly all the best for tomorrow x

All went well at my 12 week scan today. Measured 12+6. The relief was incredible, I just sobbed during and afterwards as I couldn't quite believe it.
We will get out happy futures, I believe it now.

Massive luck to those with scans coming up. Be kind to yourselves x

suz2285 · 09/10/2023 18:33

Great news @CB23CB congrats ❤️

sweetpotato29 · 09/10/2023 20:09

Congratulations @CB23CB so glad it all went well for you and you had good news!

@SparkleFly it's my first child, but my second pregnancy. My first resulted in a MMC unfortunately - I feel like I lost my innocence with it too. Will keep everything crossed, but the anxiety is a killer!

SparkleFly · 09/10/2023 20:16

@CB23CB congratulations that's lovely news, so happy for you ❤️🥰

TheBirdintheCave · 09/10/2023 20:17

@CB23CB Yay that's great news! :)

SparkleFly · 09/10/2023 20:21

@sweetpotato29 I know what you mean about losing your innocence. I had a MMC with my first pregnancy after nearly 4 years of fertility treatment then a successful and trouble-free 2nd pregnancy. I never knew until it had happened that 1 in 4 pregnancies miscarry! Just got to take it one day at a time.

My next door neighbour told us the other week that they are about 6 weeks pregnant and have announced it to everyone. I was like 🫣
