Hey so I'm 5 weeks pregnant! It's our first!

I feel kind of alone and lost because none of our friends or family know as we want to keep it a secret and I want someone to turn to to share my experience or ask questions.

Anyone fancy keeping touch on this thread?

I'm sick of googling stuff it just worries me lol x

Yes, me! 5 week weeks today. Congratulations to you Smile

It's our first too but I did have an MMC at 9 weeks in March. As soon as it happened I promised myself I would not Google stuff constantly next time around because all it does it create negativity, and doesn't actually make it any easier if something bad does happen!

It's so hard not to tell people isn't it, I am counting down the days! Have you arranged your booking in with midwife yet?

howmanyroads · 31/07/2020 09:31

5 weeks, not week weeks Grin

Annie1211 · 31/07/2020 10:49

@howmanyroads yayyy congratulations to you too! And I'm sorry to read about your miscarriage.

Yes let's keep in touch 🙂🙂

How you been keeping so far?
Any twinges? Cravings? You been sick at all?

I’m 5 weeks :) have a 6 week scan next Thursday due to 3 early loses so very nervous. But I’ve got past 2 of the loss dates and just need to get over next week and I’ll be feeling better. I have a 9 year old. Been ttc for 8 months

Symptom wise I have very sore boobs and nipples, exhausted 24/7, leg pain and twinges. I threw up in my mouth for the first time today :( but not complaining as I welcome all symptoms. Got my 3+ last week and line progression is really good so hoping this is my sticky bean

What symptoms have u got?

@Annie1211 Fine so far! Sore boobs, few pelvic cramps and feeling out of breath very easily though, no cravings or sickness, how about you?

@2020wish sorry to hear about your losses, hope this one sticks. Do your DCs know you're trying for another? Smile

PowPurry · 31/07/2020 11:11

Hi! I’m 5+4 today.
No major symptoms. Sore-ish boobs, weeing all the time but that’s pretty much it!
Sorry to hear a few of you have been through losses, let’s hope this is the one.

Sophierella24 · 31/07/2020 11:14

@Annie1211 congratulations, I would love to keep in touch! I believe I am around the 5/6 week mark too...I have an early scan booked in to try and reassure me!
I'm worrying over everything and google isnt helping!
Iv not had many symptoms, apart from sore boobs, bloating and a lot of wind and feeling constantly hungry xx

DaddyPigHasASexyVoice · 31/07/2020 11:24

Hello Smile

I’m ten weeks so a bit further along than you but would love to keep in touch if that’s ok!

This is my second baby and I have a little girl who’s two. Feeling sick a lot and sooooo tired!

2020wish · 31/07/2020 11:56

@howmanyroads feeling out of breath myself also. Having a lot of twinges and pulling going on and has me so worried

Yes DC has been begging for a sibling for so long and we told her she was going to be a big sister in April and she cried with happiness and unfortunately we lost that baby a week later and DC broke her heart so I’m not telling her again until I’m 12 weeks. It’s so hard tho keeping it a secret

Annie1211 · 31/07/2020 11:58

Absolutely the more the merrier!!! Congratulations all!! 🥰

I have been getting days of complete exhaustion and waves of nausea. So far haven't been sick just yet (touch wood) still early days.

Nipples - omg they are raw! But bought a cream on amazon which seems to help.

Last night I have a pain to the right hand side of my stomach not sharp pain more of a twinge. Of course. I google everything, I think it was either wind or ligament stretching?

I'm so out of breathe all the time even walking up the stairs In my house! Lol

When are you all telling you family and friends? Xxx

2020wish · 31/07/2020 12:14

Fingers crossed all goes well I’m going to tell everyone by 12 weeks. My mum and sisters and 2 close friends know I’m
Pregnant now. I’m so close to them so need their support either way

LittleBrownBaby · 31/07/2020 13:13

Me please I think I'm 5 1/2 weeks. I have had 2 mc in the last 9 months one at 6 weeks and one at 12 - but feel much more positive about this one.

This is my fifth pregnancy and would be my third baby. I have two DDs 9 and 7.

Hope everyone has a healthy 9 months

Herbys · 31/07/2020 13:26

Yes please!! 5 weeks tomorrow, it's so nerve racking!!

Will be my first 😱 Much more scared than I thought I would be, but trying to relax and know that it is all out of my hands now!

My boobs are in agony, and I'm tired, but otherwise worryingly feel fine... so I just hope my body knows what it's doing!

Annie1211 · 31/07/2020 14:59

Congrats to you too ☺️☺️

I know I'm dying to tell my mum and dad but I'm worried it's too soon, I don't know if I can wait 12 weeks!

Has anyone every paid for an early scan before? Xx

DoubleHelix79 · 31/07/2020 15:29

Can I join in? I'm around 5 weeks. We have a 3 year old DD already. I'm 41, so conscious of the increased risks and trying not to be too invested at this stage (easier said than done...). No symptoms at all yet.

alessandra27 · 31/07/2020 17:12

Meeee! I'm 5+3 with our first and time is moving so slowly... I had to delete my pregnancy apps as I've been overthinking and my anxiety has been in overdrive! Desperate to reach that 12 week mark!

Nov19 · 31/07/2020 17:59

Can I join too?? I’m 5 weeks tomorrow (roughly) with #3. We haven’t told our family yet but a couple of very very close friends know. I’ve had no symptoms yet which is making me panic. I’ve got a clear blue digital test which I may do tomorrow to see if the weeks have gone up from 2-3 to 3+ but I know that’s not an accurate way of seeing if things are okay, I just can’t help myself.

Hope everyone is doing well!

Whatwouldyoudo22 · 31/07/2020 18:02

Hello! Hope its okay if I join! I'm 5+2 today with first baby. Sore boobs and feeling tired! Would be great if we can keep in touch Smile

Teapotdespot · 31/07/2020 18:27

I got my official BFP today and I’m 5+1 Grin

I have a bit of a history.. 5 years of trying near enough, 3 First trimester miscarriages, many many chemicals and PCOS, so it’s not been an easy ride.

Having said that, we’re allowing ourselves to be excited about this one because with all the others I’ve had bleeding at week 4-5 and I haven’t had any this time.

Symptoms: One incredibly angry nipple (lefty, not pancho), a loss of apatite and a little bit of nausea very occasionally. I’ve also been dog tired and had a couple of dizzy moments, not sure what that’s about.

I called the GP today to discuss the fact I’m pregnant and about the miscarriages and what I should do, and I have a midwife appointment booked for 20th August. In the meantime I have the number for the community midwife team who will refer me to the EPU straight away if I have any signs of a miscarriage. The approach seems to be to treat me like it’s a normal pregnancy until it’s not, which I’m very happy about.

Congrats everyone!!

Anyone 5 weeks pregnant? Want to keep in touch?
Whatwouldyoudo22 · 31/07/2020 18:43

@Teapotdespot I understand, I've had two miscarriages and we've been trying for three years for this baby. Fingers crossed for us all for happy healthy pregnancies!!

Teapotdespot · 31/07/2020 18:51

@Whatwouldyoudo22 absolutely everything crossed, pregnancies following losses are always nerve wracking, but DH said something earlier that’s really helping me: ‘we can be excited and celebrate because right now you’re totally and completely pregnant. If we don’t have a baby at the end of this that’s ok, but for now we have every reason to be excited and if nothing else, at least we’ll have this’. I’d say he was wise, except he’s spent the rest of the day after the initial news singing ‘macho macho speeeeeerm’ to himself Hmm

It’s particularly interesting for us because due to my cycles being anywhere from 26-60 days, Pinning down ovulation is a nightmare. I THINK I pinned down ovulation this month with temping and an almost positive OPK but it will be interesting in a couple of weeks to find out if I’ve got my dates right.

I forgot a symptom that is fast getting out of hand: WIND. Anyone else??

Whatwouldyoudo22 · 31/07/2020 19:18

@Teapotdespot aw I really like that. I know what you mean though, it's hard to be totally excited when you've had losses before. I feel like I've always got that in the back of my mind. If I can just get to 12 weeks I know I'll be able to fully relax. And then I know stress isn't good for the pregnancy so I try not to stress but then I stress about feeling stressed! Oh dear. And if anything I think DH is probably more nervous than me. But incredibly supportive. We aren't telling anyone IRL because of the previous losses it's been too hard for us to have to then tell people we've miscarried. So it's lovely to have this little support group on here.

Teapotdespot · 31/07/2020 19:29

@Whatwouldyoudo22 I’ve told my mum, my MIL (we’re very close) and my sister. They’ve been with me through my previous losses and they understand, I find it comforting that they’re on the road with me if that makes sense.

On another note, I just ate some ice cream with DH to celebrate and threw it straight back up Grin

Whatwouldyoudo22 · 31/07/2020 19:36

@Teapotdespot yeah, that makes sense. I've been thinking about telling my sister, perhaps I should. This is going to sound really silly but I feel like I can keep it safe if it's only us that knows.

chrissagcat · 31/07/2020 19:48

Hello! Can I join too! I'm 5 weeks today with #3 I've told my mum and close friend and that's it!
