Hey so I'm 5 weeks pregnant! It's our first!

I feel kind of alone and lost because none of our friends or family know as we want to keep it a secret and I want someone to turn to to share my experience or ask questions.

Anyone fancy keeping touch on this thread?

I'm sick of googling stuff it just worries me lol x

@Annie1211 ahh, great, thanks for the advice. I'll have to order some!!

Annie1211 · 05/08/2020 19:48

Help!

I posted on new thread but forget we had this...

This week I have been struggling with really bad nausea and total exhaustion.

I came home from work Monday and today too.

Can I get my doctor to put a line in for me? Or would they not cover that. I'm more concerned about being off work.

Also my work is quite stressful at the moment due to short staff and the stress is not good for me either. But I do not want to keep working feeling the way I am it's horrible.

How do you all do it? Does this die down at all? 😭

@Annie1211 I really feel for you! Flowers

Do you think it’s too early to tell you employee yet? If you think there’s risks to the pregnancy at work (stress) it may be worth telling them early so they can make assessments?

mrsfitzyj · 05/08/2020 21:27

Hi @Annie1211 so sorry to hear you’re feeling so poorly. You poor thing. Depending on your relationship with your manager but like @Teapotdespot suggested maybe speak to your manager unofficially in confidence and get some help?

Annie1211 · 05/08/2020 21:30

Thank you, my work unfortunately are not very people focused. I don't no wether to just contact doctors tomorrow and speak to them.

Really at a loss as to what to due tbh.

My work don't care how stressed we are one of my friends is actually off with stress because of it so i don't feel they would change anything to help me. I would rather focus on my health if that makes sense xxx

Hi eveyone 👋 can I join too? I'm 5+5 today. This is my third pregnancy second baby, my little girl is 4. I had a previous mmc (triplet) before I had my little girl and am so anxious of it happening again. I've not really got any symptoms either which I think was the same with my girl, I was further along when I got sore boobs, was never sick and feeling the exact same this time. Have booked an early scan for some reassurance as I think I drive my husband daft with the constant googling of every little thing 😂 xxx

mrsfitzyj · 05/08/2020 21:38

@Annie1211 could you get signed off for stress and just take this time to focus on you? X

Annie1211 · 05/08/2020 21:42

@mrsfitzyj I might actually. It's so bad I know.
Aw I have a massive wave of nausea right now 😭😭😭😭this is horrible!

@Hannahsmummy2016 congratulations and welcome ☺️ xxx

I feel so grateful having everyone on this sharing our experience together.

I think I'm going to tell my parents soon, is 6 weeks far too early? I'm so close to them and tell them everything. Also when I'm not well I always call my mum 😔 sounds silly I know I just don't think I want to or can wait another 6 weeks.

Might be comforting having my mum knowing and being there.

Thoughts please and be honest ♥️

@Hannahsmummy2016 welcome ❤️ Hope you’re ok. @Annie1211 we’ve told immediate family. With COVID I am working from home and the lack of a distraction is making it very hard. Having my sisters and mum who all have kids to talk to has been a lifesaver. I figure if anything goes wrong I’d tell them anyway. Been great. Go with what you need x

Hannahsmummy2016 · 05/08/2020 22:08

@Annie1211 I've told my mum already although made her promise not to tell anyone just yet, I can never keep anything a secret from my mum lol! She is the one person I know i can go for advice as well as my oh but sometimes you just need your mum. I say if you feel you want to tell your parents then you should. They will be over the moon im sure ❤ xx

JTB123 · 05/08/2020 22:09

@Annie1211 I'm desperate to tell ours! But waiting until my private scan at 9 weeks as wanted to show them something!

And also no one else probably feels this way but if anything happened I'd rather not have their sympathy! So I don't want them to know until I've seen it for myself 👀

Hannahsmummy2016 · 05/08/2020 22:21

@Annie1211 I say if you want to tell your parents you should go for it. Ive told my mum because I tell my mum pretty much everything but have made her promise to keep it to herself until we get to 12 weeks and know that everything is fine with this LO. Your parents will be over the moon with the news im sure ❤ xx

Hannahsmummy2016 · 05/08/2020 22:25

@mrsfitzyj hello and thank you 👋 yeah I'm good thanks total insomnia has kicked in tonight, I'm usually sound asleep by now 😂😂😂 hope everyone is keeping well xx

mrsfitzyj · 05/08/2020 23:14

So I’m very worried. Have had brown spotting since Sunday. Lots of cramps etc. Had my scan Monday and all was fine, but the blood is getting a bit heavier and more stringy, and it’s moving from brown to red slowly. I’m sore and tender down there, have cramps too. Pregnancy symptoms are there but all in all quite concerned. Have a scan next Thursday. Just a waiting game.

Annie1211 · 05/08/2020 23:35

@mrsfitzyj try not worry too much, cramps are normal. With regarding to bleeding why don't you contact docs tomorrow explain you've been for scan. If anything it will put your mind at ease ♥️and remember we are here for you x

@JTB123 @Teapotdespot you're right - have booked a scan for two weeks from now.

@mrsfitzyj so sorry to hear you're having a bad time. It's such a tricky time. It could be something, it could be nothing. Try and rest and distract yourself. Good luck.

I’ve told my parents, my MIL (we’re super close) and my sister because they’re like my A team when it comes to support. My boss also knows because of the miscarriage scare on Sunday meant I didn’t work on Monday, but she only knows in an informal capacity.

@mrsfitzyj definitely go and get checked Flowers

mrsfitzyj · 06/08/2020 07:14

@Annie1211 @Teapotdespot hi both, thanks. The spotting appears to have stopped and no more cramps. I did speak to the doctor yesterday and she said there was nothing more they could do then my follow up scan next week to see how things have progressed from Monday. She was a bit brutal in that she said I’m at a slightly higher chance of miscarriage because of my PCOS and there’s nothing I can personally do to maintain my pregnancy so hard as it is I need to relax. My own gp was on leave who I love but is back today, hoping a call with her today will make me feel better. Nauseous this morning which I’m grateful for.

Bouncytree · 06/08/2020 07:44

@mrsfitzyjso sorry to hear your going through this, very stressful. And it really makes a difference to be handled kindly through this.

Great the bleeding has stopped 👍🏻 Fingers crossed all ok.

Herts2020 · 06/08/2020 07:59

Can I still join in?
I’m coming up to 7 weeks now, not really feeling any symptoms besides strong smells make me feel very nauseous.
A little anxious as I had a miscarriage in Jan at 9 weeks and can’t let myself plan too far in the future, will try an early scan soon.
Would be really nice to talk to others as I haven’t told any friends yet

LittleBrownBaby · 06/08/2020 08:10

Hang on in there @mrsfitzyj - I know the waiting is agonising. I had some spotting in the night but it was after sex and has totally stopped. It's such a rollercoaster! Just want to get to 12 weeks and relax a little bit.

glasses2020 · 06/08/2020 08:49

Hi @Herts2020 welcome. So sorry about your Mc. Things will be different for you this time x

JTB123 · 06/08/2020 10:24

6+5 today!
