Another new thread! Reckon we can get all the scans into this one?

Place marking for scans!

ACatCalledLola · 23/04/2020 13:32

Thanks @NoseringGirl.

TangBloodyFastic · 23/04/2020 13:35

Place marking Grin 5 already 😱

overandoverafail · 23/04/2020 13:36

Dread to think how many threads we will have by the time the babies arrive!

AnxiousLady1 · 23/04/2020 13:38

Place marking also!

littlegem84 · 23/04/2020 13:38

Thanks @NoseringGirl!

teaandtantrums90 · 23/04/2020 13:41

Hey everyone! Totally just found this thread can't remember if I've seen it before haha! My scan is next Thursday 🥰 how is everyone doing x

ParisInTheSpringtime · 23/04/2020 13:42

@BuffaloCauliflower measuring a bit ahead of what we thought - so I’m 12+2 today and not 11+5

@60spony I collected my notes from the blood test room. It was all a bit manic and not well organised. Loads of people in the waiting room, running late. Not a great experience to be honest.

Natopp · 23/04/2020 13:48

Hellooo

BuffaloCauliflower · 23/04/2020 13:50

@overandoverafail well we’re averaging a thread a week now so maybe 30 more 😂

@ParisInTheSpringtime fair, does that make sense to you? The sonographer told me a week either way from your dates is fine, doesn’t mean dates are out just that baby is growing bigger or smaller

futuredreams · 23/04/2020 13:52

GrinI think it's great. Thanks for opening another!

Hancock2020 · 23/04/2020 13:53

Here miss 😁🤣

Lorenzo3000 · 23/04/2020 14:04

I have my scan on Monday! Wishing the days away until then!!

Amymone · 23/04/2020 14:05

On tongue tie, I don't really understand why they don't routinely check babies at birth since it seems pretty common and also seems to cause a lot of distress. Is it difficult to spot? Showing naivety here I'm sure!

Is anyone taking any kind of fish oil? I've been given these Bump & Glory pregnancy fish oil supplements but in two minds as to whether to take them. Unclear about the benefits / any potential downsides. I know most fish oils are unsafe in pregnancy but these are supposed to be ok because they contain no Vitamin A

SMcG1 · 23/04/2020 14:12

@ParisInTheSpringtime glad to hear your scan went well Grin

I thought you only had to take folic acid for the first 12 weeks but at my booking appointment the midwife gave me enough folic acid plus vitamins d and c to do me for all of my pregnancy so I’m assuming I’ve to keep taking them

I’m another one who is dry heaving all the time but I’m only actually vomiting once every few days so it is getting better

I’ve told all of my close family now that I’ve had the scan. It feels so much better being able to actually speak to them about it

Hancock2020 · 23/04/2020 14:13

Vitamin wise, with my other pregnancies I didn't take any at all and the kids are fine.
This time I'm taking folic acid till 12 weeks and that's it unless I get told I have to take something

Tonicandgin · 23/04/2020 14:19

@Anymone I trained as a bf peer supporter and asked the same question. They said that it doesn't affect all feeding so it's not routinely checked - they go on feeding symptoms rather than the presence of a tie.

But you hear so many people having terrible experiences, it's my bugbear. More people should be trained to spot and deal with them.

AnxiousLady1 · 23/04/2020 14:19

Hi @teaandtantrums90! I recognise your name from the other thread I'm on. 😁

ParisInTheSpringtime · 23/04/2020 14:22

@BuffaloCauliflower it’s a few days ahead of what it should be - I know the exact day of conception. Makes sense though. We are going to tell hubby’s parents this evening (mine already know).

Hancock2020 · 23/04/2020 14:23

Oh dear, my go to food of chicken super noodles are no longer super. I've totally gone off them 🙄 so went to find alternative food only to stand with the fridge door open for 10 mins whilst I inspected the contents to then walk away empty handed because nothing looks tempting.
This could be fun trying to find food

MoreGinPlease2020 · 23/04/2020 14:24

@Amymone I was taking the Pregnacare fish oil capsules but couldn't cope with the fishy burps I got afterwards. 😂

Pcosandpregnant · 23/04/2020 14:28

Hello everyone I can’t believe how quickly we are going through the threads we are a chatty lot Grin

Amymone · 23/04/2020 14:29

@Tonicandgin doesn't make sense to me but then I've never had a baby before so don't know what I'm talking about! Plenty of my friend's children have had TT though and they've struggled on for ages without knowing. At least it's 'on the radar' to look out for. I imagine any child of mine will have a fairly keen appetite!!!

Amymone · 23/04/2020 14:30

@MoreGinPlease2020 LOL! Maybe have a rethink on those then for the sake of my relationship!!!

BuffaloCauliflower · 23/04/2020 14:30

@ParisInTheSpringtime yes I pretty much exactly know mine too, thought I’m measuring 5 days ahead. Might be 1 or 2, but not 5. Doesn’t really matter though, it’s not like baby will come the day they’re due!
