Due date Friday 13th November 😂

Pink15 · 07/05/2020 12:45

@Natopp congrats on the scan!

@FlashesOfRage aww that's such a lovely story 🥰 does that mean they are non identical?

MrsAJKA · 07/05/2020 12:49

When is everyone going to start buying things? I’m itching to get started now after the scan yesterday. It’s out first so we’re very excited! ☺️ Although, I realise it’s super early but I can’t help myself lol I think realistically I was going to window/internet shop first then actually start around late summer time and be ready for November. What about everyone else?

HarrietM87 · 07/05/2020 13:34

@FlashesOfRage that’s so brilliant! Congratulations again!

@MrsAJKA I didn’t buy anything for my first until a few weeks before the birth (other than preordering the pram at about 30 weeks) because we were renovating the house and had nowhere to put anything! I did so much research on all the products before then though. I would say that the last couple of months of pregnancy drag SO much and it was nice to have something baby related to do in that time.

I’ve made a new thread btw - please check in!

@MrsAJKA I’ve been dying to buy things since my scan last week too. I think anything big is going to wait until after the 20 week scan, but I’ve already picked up a few little outfits because I just could not help myself. I want to do most of the shopping when we’re allowed after lockdown so it means DH and family can pick some things out too

BuffaloCauliflower · 07/05/2020 13:37

I’m trying to put off buying as much as possible, but think lll start to get a few bits after my scan next week. One thing is we’re going to cloth nappy, and there’s one newborn nappy Id like that sells out quickly so want to make sure I can get them!

I need a new car though, so that might have to come first! I’m going to borrow as much as I can, I am conscious I may not have a job by the time baby comes

Pink15 · 07/05/2020 13:37

@MrsAJKA I really want to do a lot of shopping in real life so if we get 'unlocked' at some point I'll be tempted to get started as I think there's a risk of a second lock down especially as we are due in winter!!

FilthyforFirth · 07/05/2020 13:39

Had my early scan today due to abdominal pains and thankfully all is ok. I am so relieved as I have been so worried. Sonographer was nice and gave me a lovely pic. Baby has grown so much since week 7 scan and looking much more baby like! 11 weeks exactly today and 2 weeks and a day until dating scan.

Cannot tell you how relieved I feel, have been crying so much as I was convinced I was having a miscarriage.

BuffaloCauliflower · 07/05/2020 13:42

That’s such good news @FilthyforFirth, sorry you’ve been having a hard time. Hopefully you can relax a smidge now Smile

FlashesOfRage · 07/05/2020 13:45

You guys are so sweet 🥰 Love this little gang x

Cracking due date @Natopp 🤣

@Pink15 😘 They should be non identical yes. But there’s a very small chance if they turn out the same sex that actually they are identical and one of the embryos split. Even rarer than normal with day 5 embryos tho, they don’t usually split to separate sacs and placentas by then and that’s what mine have so they should be non-ID (can you tell I’m quite keen not to have identical 🤣🤣)

@mrsAJKA We’ve bought a pram and a nursing chair already 🙈😂
Both are FB marketplace purchases where I got w bargain tho. I’m very much of the mind that certain things can be secondhand no problem so that I can save my money for the purchases that must be new (car seats, mattresses, electric breast pump... lol)

Natopp · 07/05/2020 13:50

@FilthyforFirth congratulations so happy for you!

60sPony · 07/05/2020 14:03

@FlashesOfRage what a story! Massive congratulations! I don’t have twins myself but do in the family and twins are truly double the blessing!

FilthyforFirth · 07/05/2020 14:14

Thanks guys! On top of the HG it has been a very miserable week. But I just feel quite confident now. Only been sick once today as well. The ondansatron is really helping so all in all feeling much more positive.

I am desperate to buy but wont until 20 week scan. We will have an early gender one if poss so DH can come. So will probably buy a few outfits off the back of that! As it's our second we dont have loads to get, new car is top of our list. Our tiny 1.2 barely fits the one kid we have!

AnxiousLady1 · 07/05/2020 14:18

@BuffaloCauliflower I'm looking at the cloth nappy option also. Do you mind me asking what the new born option you mention is? If it sells out that much it must be good!

BuffaloCauliflower · 07/05/2020 14:31

@AnxiousLady1 I’ll reply in the other thread!

MrsR87 · 07/05/2020 15:50

@FlashesOfRage awww what a lovely story. Congratulations on your double bundle of joy.

Just jumping on the bandwagon of the shopping conversation. I am itching to start buying stuff but am really reluctant to make big purchases before seeing things. This is part of what I was excited about, the browsing and trying different products! I’m hoping that this will be a possibility before it gets too close to our due dates!
We’re not going to put our nursery together until August though I think...we’re currently decorating and remitting out our guest bedroom so nursery furniture is not on my priority list yet. However if anyone has any product recommendations in terms of car seats, prams, pushchairs, cots that turn into beds, baby wardrobes, changing tables, Moses baskets etc (I could go on) send them my way as I literally have no clue 🥰

Amymone · 08/05/2020 16:21

Hi everyone,

Just posted here on another thread but thought I'd ask you too. Struggle to keep up with all these boards!! Smile

Had a little break from mumsnet so totally out of the loop. But I have a gross question for you all....

Is anyone else experiencing a lot of very watery discharge? 3 occasions in the past 3 days I've felt it trickle out and my pants have been soaked through.

No whiteness or residue, just totally clear like water. We're trying to figure out whether we should be worried about amniotic fluid leaking or whether this is normal.

Just spoke to the early pregnancy unit who weren't really sure what to advise. They're closed now but said I could try my local general A&E if I'm worried, but I'm not too keen to do that!

Just wondering if anyone else has experienced the same?
