Due April 2019 - How're you feeling?

Hi there 😀 decided to make this to chat to other Mums due this month.

I'm due on the 21st (Easter Sunday!) but I can't help shifting the feeling he'll be here earlier.

Anyone had false labours yet? I get bad for about 3 hours then it fades away - it's happened to me twice now! Getting fed up with the pain, discomfort and annoyed with my PGP (SPD) and Raynaud's so just want this kid now 😆

Very excited though, despite the nerves for labour. Just seeing how other Mums-to-be are handling things since we're so close to the end 😊

Hi @blh23! Sorry to hear about the c-section. I'd be gutted too. Silver lining - at least you know when you're going to meet your baby. I've never had one but my cousin did and all I can say from her experience is take it easy. Not massively helpful I'm afraid...

Mummab3ar · 07/04/2019 07:47

@blh23 is this your first baby? From what my friend told me the recovery was a lot easier with her first, but becomes more of an issue if you have a toddler or other DC to run around after. I haven't had one myself but would assume as long as you have people to help you out after you will be fine lovely 😘

hospitalbagfrenzy · 07/04/2019 12:23

@Tootyfrooty35 congratulations!

@blh23 it is gutting but remember not all naturals are straight forward. I had a c section with my first as he was breech. I was booked in at 39 weeks but my waters broke at 37 weeks and I went in and they did the c section ASAP.

This time I've been deliberating a lot but have decided on a c section now. It will be tough with a 2yo but my partner is off for 6 weeks and I have family around who will help as well. If you have any specific questions let me know!

Tootyfrooty35 How exciting. Congratulations. Wow big baby- well done ! 💪 Hope your body is not too battered!

blh23 · 07/04/2019 16:21

Thanks for the replies ladies - yeah first baby! The only good thing is that I know the maximum time for her arrival is only 17 days away which is exciting just hope I don't go into labour before, got a right strong feeling I might! 😬

Hope everyone is feeling okay 💗

No news from me! Feeling good, except tired. last night some dull period pains throughout the night...

VixenAndCub · 07/04/2019 17:52

I've been having dull period pains all day everyday for the last week, just wish something would happen now!

@ChaosMoon how are you doing? My due date came and went yesterday and I know you are today?

It felt really frustrating yesterday with loads of texts and phone calls asking if I had news but feel surprisingly relaxed about it today.

Hope you are all doing well xx

Wordie · 07/04/2019 18:41

@VixenAndCub hopefully it’s a good sign for you! 🤞

VixenAndCub · 07/04/2019 19:00

@Wordie
I hope so! Just made myself a spicy curry just to see if that works. I just had some sharp pains very low down but baby was wiggling at the time so might just be his head moving around while engaged.
I'll be so upset if I don't see him this month. Because my due date is 21st and I'm seeing my consultant on the 24th so if I'm still pregnant they'll arrange an induction date then. Which will no doubt be in May!

Had my heart set on my April Baby so I'm trying so many things to get things going! Partner found me bouncing on the sofa since I haven't got an exercise ball - the look I got! 😆

Having period pains too daily. So hard to get anything done when you feel like this!

ChaosMoon · 07/04/2019 20:00

Sorry to hear you're still waiting too @Wordie. Though well done for starying so chilled! Went for our local brunch place and the owner very kindly added a barrel of chilli to mine. Walked back and I've been in agony ever since. Really intense period cramps and back ache with what I assume are Braxton Hicks but although it's frequent (feels almost constant) it's not regular. Baby goes mental every time it happens, which is making it even more painful. I really hope something's happening but I'm not holding my breath. Just trying to use it to practice my hypnobirthing techniques.

I admire your resourcefulness @VixenAndCub! I hope it works and you get to meet your baby this month.

Here's hoping we can get all these bubas moving soon!

VixenAndCub · 07/04/2019 21:41

@ChaosMoon
Sounds possible though! Fingers crossed for you and let us know if you can!

Sounds very promising @ChaosMoon good luck! Keep us updated x

Mummab3ar · 08/04/2019 07:08

Well I had to go into the labour ward yesterday for some observations and it made me jelous 😂😂! All these woman who were in labour about to meet their babies...I'm not sure thats a normal response to seeing/hearing people in labour 😂

cannonball8726 · 08/04/2019 21:25

Snap @chaosmoon - having the exact same Braxton Hicks. They're so uncomfortable and they're wearing me out!

VixenAndCub · 08/04/2019 22:56

Had midwife visit today and she gave the baby a right hard prod because she now can't tell if he's still engaged or now breeched because she can't find his head. Personally I think she's feeling his shoulders because he's been engaged for nearly a month now.
Been having sharp pains ever since! Did a number on me 😆

Now I'm going through some more stings and my mister put on One Born Every Minute. Is it bad we're casually cuddling up together and choking up because we just want this baby now? Pretty jealous of those holding their babies right now, not gonna lie.

Having a position check scan tomorrow now. Wish they'd just break my waters there and then 😆 I've been eating pineapple throughout the day along with these pains. Maybe a good prod from the scan will get him moving.
