Marking my place. 24 weeks tomorrow, really relieved to get to this point as it means baby would stand a chance of survival if it had to be born (paranoia after a previous pre term baby) :-)

Klou I'm so sorry you're still going through such an awful time. I would echo the others and say get to A+E if you are bleeding very heavily. Sending hugs to you.

Hi Shergar ... my tips would be:

  1. Never Dr Google. Buy a sensible (British- not scary USA) book e.g. Lesley Regan's 'Your Pregnancy Week By Week' and use the NHS choices site for advice. Then you know what is worth calling the midwife for and what is scary crap.
  2. If you get in a flap, come here. Everyone will say "oh I do that too" and you'll feel less mad about wearing/carrying pads everywhere, knicker checking, prodding your belly, monitoring your mucus, scan freak outs etc :)

klou is it just two changes in a day? Or do you mean much more. You know what a MC bleed should look like and if it is much more heavier than that, maybe a fresh pad every 15/30min, go to the A&E. Our bodies can't handle large amount of blood losses (I'm not medically trained so I'm not sure how heavy is too heavy). Otherwise your mum knows you better and so take her suggestion to have a rest for the week. You know what's the best thing for you is. We will be here if you need a chat.

It could be it's not an MC but just the lining. I have been the placenta is unmistakable in the hospital. I don't know if it's true because I didn't see mine. They have me those things to catch my clots/blood in so I can look for the placenta and they can also weigh my blood loss. I ended up in theatre for EPRC.

I understand you don't want to keep your hopes too high after what you have been through. Just take care and be kind to yourself.

Thanks squiz for the new thread. Welcome shergar, squiz is absolutely right, pregnancy after MC is a rollercoaster ride, particularly the first trimester. But all here know the worry and fear, this is a safe place to air it all.
I am feeling sad that my being in a mood has ruined what should have been a lovely day. Shouted at DD a couple of times as I was tired out, felt a bit better after a nap but was snappish all day. Am home alone with DD tomorrow and a bit worried that I won't cope, still slow on my feet and definitely not getting 2nd tri glow on at all. Hoping for a better day tomorrow.
Thinking of klou and hoping for the best.

Thank you penguin and one. It was 2 changes in I would say up to 2 hrs, since then it's been nothing like what I would expect after hearing that plop. Not long been to the loo and it's still fresh but not much on the pad and just there when I wipe. Excuse my language but my head is truly fucked. I think my mum is worried for my well being, it must be hard for her to see me go through this and not be able to help. I think you're still mummy no matter how old your babies are aren't you. I'm gonna follow her advice as I think it's what is gonna keep me sane. I'm so fortunate to have 2 beautiful DDs and they are who I need to focus on x

klou so sorry to hear what you are going through. It does sound quite similar to when I passed the sac with my natural MC, but if they saw a HB so recently it seems quite soon for that to happen, so there is still hope. But the not knowing either way must be exhausting, hope you get answers soon Flowers

Welcome shergar, my tip would be just try to take one day at a a time and set small milestones.

Little Pingu is beating me up from the inside tonight, I've never known her be so active. Maybe at 38+4 she is just desperate to get out. At one point I am sure I actually heard one of the kicks. It sounded weirdly like a fish slap, rather appropriate Grin

Hi shergar, like penguin* said! try thinking in days not months. I have found this thread so useful over last couple of weeks, however not sure how sane I class as !

klou hope you're feeling better soon. I was diagnosed with a SCH, which they said is often called a tear, the same day you had your scan. I don't know if this is similar to what you have, but I am still passing fresh blood, and they told me to expect this for a couple of weeks, and that whilst no pain likely not another mc. I don't know if this helps, it still alarms me... Hope things settle down, and you feel better soon

25 weeks today, havnt felt the baby move again today despite strong movements all week, but as the same thing happened last Saturday I'm hoping it's just related to my shift patterns and having such incredibly tiring days on Saturdays... Finally have another midwife appointment on Monday so am really hoping il get a decent one this time that will put my mind at rest about movement! and my hundred other crazy questions I have lined up for her

klou sorry you're having more bleeding. If you don't feel like going to hospital maybe see how you go tomorrow and then decide. Please take it easy and rest as much as possible.

Had thought I was getting better as I ate some dinner and kept it down, but alas I've just thrown it back up again. I really hope it is a bug and will pass soon. Meant to be out for lunch tomorrow but not sure I'll be up to going. Baby seems unaffected so far.

Thanks Squiz for your words of advice re left side pains. I'm hoping that's all it is! When I wiped this morning there was a small bit of pink on the paper...just hoping it's settling in stuff, and not something occurred from where I got up too quickly in the night to pick up my crying daughter! Will I be second guessing throughout my whole pg now? I wasn't a paranoid Percy before my mc....it's gonna be a challenging time I think!

klou I'm so sorry to read that you've been bleeding. If it were me I couldn't live with the uncertainty and would be straight down the "green mile" but perhaps this is one of those situations where mum knows best. I had a SCH (think that would also be referred to as a tear - seperation in the attachment of the baby to the lining) with my DS2 and bled from wks 8-16, several times pretty heavily. Having had a MC previously I was convinced lots of times it was all over but he was fine. I also had one in this pregnancy as an incidental finding, it never bled and was resorbed. Doctors normally advise rest in the hope that it helps it settle down.

I'm v excited to think I should have a baby on this thread - unless you all chat a lot Grin We had a lovely time at DS2's party yesterday, could not have asked for more perfect weather and the Forest School leader was brill. I have lots of fab photos of fairies in the woods for my yearbook (not to mention my little Tinkerboy) and they all had a great time. I was knackered afterwards though. Nothing much on the agenda now other than have a baby! and survive half term

And not quite sure what to think. I think I would try get a scan as at least then I would know either way as that's what seems to be messing with your head so much. You are just speculating (as we all would) and it could be either or scenario. I know, despite me being a mummy, my mum helped carry me through my mcs and this preg.

joosie I was quite a calm, rational person before my mcs and never really worried about much. Being preg after mc has made me the biggest worrier and I actually feel a loon sometimes. The voice of paranoia and the irrational dominates my head space.

I was awake in the night paranoid my bump was too small and hadn't felt baby move since yesterday morning. Think I have now but not sure as they are still so subtle. Such a worrier!

Hope everyone enjoys the sunny weather today. I'd love to sit in the garden with a big glass of chilled white wine (not at 10am, obviously). Will have to wait a couple of weeks for that though!
