Thanks ellis and longest. I do think that it's to do with running out of room. I think baby sometimes gets into a position where there isn't much space, but can still wiggle a bit. I am getting enough regular movement that I'm not too worried about it being reduced movement, if you see what I mean.

I'm still having problems woth my back but it's manageable. Am v. busy trying to sort out all the work stuff I need to handover, or that I haven't done. Only 7 more working days after today!

Hi everyone - may I join?!?

4w0d today - got my BFP (albeit) faint last Friday at 9dpo. I've had 2 MMC and a chemical previously (the chem last Aug and the most recent MMC in March) so am kind of bricking it in all honesty.

I have a question - my first appointment with the consultant at the recurrent miscarriage unit is scheduled for July 3rd. I was supposed to go for a CD3 blood test when my new cycle started. Which obviously it didn't.

I want to still go to the appointment - particularly as my last lost was due to Trisomy 18 and I want to know the blood test results re: myself or OH being translocation carriers (and results of other blood tests I've had obviously) - will they have a problem with that as I am now pregnant?

When I saw the nurse at the RMU a couple of weeks ago she said to give her a ring if I get pregnant in the meantime but I'm now paranoid if I do so that they will cancel my appointment when they learn I am pregnant... thoughts?

Sorry for waffling on in my first post but I'd be grateful for people's opinions on both points.. Thanks

Welcome catty, I'm about 3 days ahead of you and going crazy at every twinge or super worried if my symptoms aren't strong enough! If the nurse has asked you to call if you got pregnant you probably should just be persistent that you still want some testing done.

I'd never heard of it either, no one seems to have. Glad the consultant knew what it was!

Hi Catty I only know in my case they cancelled my appointments when I fell pregnant with dd.

consultant just said to come back if it went wrong (which it thankfully didn't)

Well that was an epic three hours! Couldn't do the combined test because the baby wouldn't keep still and was in the wrong position. She had me wandering around and jumping up and down! But bubs wasn't having any of it! They were also confused about the bloodwork because of the dead twin. No one could decided how it worked as they haven't come across it for a long time (lucky me). She wouldn't scan my cervical length. We were then sent for bloods but given no paperwork so they wouldn't do it so then traipsed back to fetal medicine where we saw a very kind midwife who was on the phone for hours sorting out more scans and chasing up my swab and urine results. So back on Friday for cervical length check and back Sunday for measuring the baby. Apparently we have a right little monkey. Looked like the baby was going nuts in there and wanted to be left alone to snooze!

catty I'll ring the nurse. If they aren't prepared to go forward with your case, then seeing the consultant is just a waste of time. He'll simply tell you to come back if you miscarried again. But obviously you can just still turn up and see what he'll say. It's a very hard choice there.

amum I just can't believe all the bad luck you are having. But at least you are still pregnant at 12 weeks. Definitely should be cause for celebrations?

Amum how frustrating. Well at least you know you have a lively healthy baby in there!! I am sure the bloods will be OK when someone finally gets how to interpret them.

Hi Cuppa and Cake, thankfully close to an EPU who take self referrals and told me after MMC to call as soon as pregnant again to book an early scan, so that's done and will be happening on the 8th July when I should be around 9wks. GPs have been fairly helpful, they have willingly given me HCG blood tests for the last two weeks, which show good levels. Could have done without the comments of the GP who insisted on seeing me after the blood test on Monday though, who sat me down, asked no questions about amounts of spotting, pain, etc and just said "well, it doesn't look good". So reassuring!

Hello all. Welcome newbies (wow Ladynexus!) Glad you got to see your baby being a monkey, amum, even though you didn't get all the answers today. Catty- I understand why you still want to be seen. Insist, I reckon.

I saw the gp today. She said I can have an early scan at the EPU which I am pleased about. Just waiting for them to call me back with a date. Still really scared, not feeling very sick (less than just before bfp which worries me) but am tired and having vivid dreams. Time is going very slowly. Can't believe it is only 2 weeks since my bfp. 3 times that to go till 12 week scan!

I have been on DS nursery trip today and I am exhausted ! Chasing around 2 year olds at an animal park has totally knackered me out but it was a lot of fun.

Have my scan on Friday morning i will be 9 weeks then I have my 12 week one in July. Really nervous but trying to be positive

Hello there, is it too late to join? I'm in the seemingly-never ending v early stage, not sure of my dates but it's 8 days since my bfp with a clear blue digital which said 2-3 wks so I am 5-6w I guess. Not sure how accurate they are though. I have a few mild symptoms which I'm encouraged by but am anxiously looking for blood every time I pee.
I have 2dc aged 6 & 3 and had a mc Inbetween them at around 7wks. This preg was not planned and if it doesn't progress we won't try again I don't think so feels like the stakes are massively high.
Was just taking day by day to get to gp appt yesterday where I assumed I'd get a referral to EPU for dating scan ( & reassurance for me) as that's what happened where I lived before, then I'd have the next date to work towards. But this GP said they didn't refer for dating scans & the midwives would be in touch so it's a bit frustrating. I guess I'll give midwives a week or so to phone then call them. I was going to try to make myself hold out til I'm minimum 7wks to try to avoid going to dating scan & not seeing a heartbeat but being told it may be too early to see one or something may be wrong.
Agh, just want this waiting bit to be over!!

Hi perri congratulations on your pregnancy! :) unfortunately lots of trusts don't do early reassurance scans, g&t is going through something similar just now. The other option is a private scan (seems to cost £50-£100) depending on where you are, if you can afford it I'd try and arrange one past the 7 week point (I lost a baby at 9 weeks so had booked a scan just past this, though due to bleeding in this pregnancy I did end up at the epu) fx all goes well for you, everyone here is lovely so any questions ask away we've all been through/are going through it so understand all the rational and irrational fears x

Hi Perri welcome as others have said it does depend where you are if you am get an early scan or not. I did het one due to early spotting but I have booked a private scan for tomorrow as I am coming up to the time I had a mc before so I needed to have a scan for my sanity. Not sure whereabouts in the country you are but I am in Bath and paying £60 for mine.

Hi perri, welcome. This is a really lovely bunch of ladies who are very supportive. KNow just how you feel about wanting the waiting to be over!

Just been to see GP who was lovely (even when I went all wobbly and had a blub ) She said that she will sort out a appointment with a consultant and see what they say. She seemed to think that the pregnancy will be tracked with bloods primarily. Is this what others have been told? What should I expect from the appointment?

Hi all,
G&T, my last few mcs have been referred to EPU, where I have had blood if between 4 and 6 weeks, and scans beyond that.
I think they try scanning if bleeding or spotting, and monitor progression with bloods, but also seems to depend on who you see (mod on the day, phase of the moon...)
Welcome perri, I have moved around quite a bit, and everywhere that I've lived, EPU referral has only been if they have been worried. This was despite several MCs and an ectopic. However, very quick to refer if there are any concerns. Good luck.
12 weeks scan this morning. Still looking good :)
They are still sticking with my dates as 12w today, as hub wouldn't keep still enough to date consistently!!! measured anywhere between 11+1 and 13+2, and appeared to be turning somersaults. Maybe it's the heat? I have read about a few more wriggly scans recently too...

Not much chance of reading the posts I'm afraid so this will be a bit of a me post.

Good news - at 28+4 my blood pressure has come down from high for the last 5 or 6 weeks to normal. So pleased as being high risk for pre eclampsia I've been terrified!

I can breathe for another week :-)

I've just been scared by about half an hour of bad cramping and now I'm pretty anxious. I couldn't tell if it was stomach/bowel area or other but I had a couple of really sharp twisting pains that took my breath away. I used to get an upset stomach along with period pains for the first 24 hours of my AF and I thought this felt similar but more painful. I feel ok now but have twingey pulls and tweaks in my uterine area (?) but I had these before the pains and also with my good pregnancy.

Aargh. Do I need a fish to the chops? Has anyone else had this or should I go to GP? I'm just over 6 weeks. Also am away at in laws until tomorrow eve so would be Monday. Even if I don't get these pains again or any bleeding I'm still going to worry that something bad has happened. I flippin hate this!

postit, settling type pains common in 1st trimester, especially early on. I've had tweaks and twinges and occasional cramps throughout. Also (if you want a cheer up giggle)a deeply embarrassing incident just after starting progesterone whith v bad pain, which turned out to be wind! Side effect of progesterone, apparently :-0
I was told not to worry about cramping without bleeding (but I know we all do...) that said, if it continues and you are worried, it can't hurt to ask gp. X
