I'm laughing at C's cot pillow Belgina, that's extremely cute! Hope she and DS are feeling better soon.

Happy birthday to our birthday babies! xx

Grumpyoldcaaaaaaaa · 11/05/2010 12:59

Hello everyone, I've not been on in ages - too much RL crap going on - DH has deffo decided that we're moving back to York and we've been looking at houses .

momi I laughed at DH 'mouth noises' - I cannot watch DH eat an ice-cream, I get enraged. I think I'm just irritating my colleague with my eating of crunchy celery and squeaky tomatoes.

dandy

SpangleMaker · 11/05/2010 13:51

Helloooo! Just been catching up over my lunch break but now no time to do a NC. Sorry for lengthy absence - H has had a nasty tummy bug, poor thing, and as a result has been a real handful - hasn't slept in his cot at all for a week and, though better now, is still v v clingy. Not great on top of work, pg tiredness and DH being out several evenings

Happy birthday to today's birthday boy and girls and congrats to the walkers!

Hope to be back later if H will let me

momino · 11/05/2010 14:35

tough here to NC. so a general but sincere hello-and-hope-you're-all-well greeting.

Just wanted to say Happy birthday to Flip's, Dandy's, Belgina's, lovely 1 year olds! hurrah! hope you're all having a great time.

I've got an hour without older 2 so need to catch up on housework and job. also, we're going to Anglesey (no idea how to spell that) on Fri and haven't even THOUGHT of BEGINNING to pack. packing won't happen till Fri morning, I believe.

and since the above few para's, i've done nothing more than make faces at H and put her down for a nap, empty the dishwasher, make a cuppa tea, and a bit of piano tinkling (all sounds a bit like procrastinating?).

going to do 10 min of picking up tel mssages for work then picking up dd1&2 to go to the clinic for a new eczema prescription. hurrAH.

one last thing though. grumpy, why the about moving to York? should be a as you'll be closer to me. oh.

hope all goes well with that, moving isn't easy, but i'll be first on your doorstep with a plate of brownies (like they do in the US for new neighbours).

hope all are well.

Grumpyoldcaaaaaaaa · 11/05/2010 16:53

momi I didn't want to move again but miss York terribly and always wanted to move back, but we should have done this when we came back from France.

I am quite excited really! I shall be forever on your doorstep with manchester tart, horse cake (new horse-shaped tin), cheesecake, champagne.........

Just 5 mins left at work

Happy birthday to all the big one year olds today!

I had a day teaching and tutoring today and only got home in time to put the kids to bed so missed my little monkeys today.

Spangle Hi missed you

Blottedcopybook · 11/05/2010 20:19

Grumpy We are all grand thank you very much!

Greer took her first steps tonight! She took four steps across her grandparents floor this evening and now becomes my earliest walker out of all four of my children. What a girl :D

pulapula · 11/05/2010 20:21

Happy Birthday to C, A and H . I am so excited and a bit emotional about S's birthday tomorrow.

Grumpy- I can see why you were a bit about the move to York now rather than a few months ago, but hopefully your DDs will cope with it as well as they did the move to and from France. And congrats to S for her first steps .

Momino- I have had many holidays on the Isle of Anglesey as a child and a couple of year ago. Do you know whereabouts you are staying?

Spangle- nice to see you, sorry you aren't having the best of times. Hope H is better soon and that the morning sickness eases off soon.

Belgian- I am thinking of starting S with a pillow - he has one under his mattress since he was having trouble sleeping the other week, but think i might move it on top. He also had a nap with a duvet the other day which was very grown up.

Anyway, trying to listen to the PM coverage and type this, but brain isn't working well enough to multi-task so i will say bye for now

flippinegg · 11/05/2010 21:45

Phew. I am shattered. Day out at the zoo with the girls and DH. Very very lovely, and to top it all off we went out for (early) dinner this evening with the girls and I had two large glasses of wine. hic.

Now it's all a bit frantic here. DH is off to the States tomorrow for work so we're ironing, sorting paperwork, etc etc now.

Belgina and Dandy - heop you've had lovely days today with birthday babes too!

Dave. Hmmm.

essenceofSES · 12/05/2010 09:01

Morning!

Pula - hope you and Sam have a great day today! I notice from FB that you're hoping to pick him up early from nursery after work so I hope all goes to plan and you have a lovely party tea

Flip - sounds like you had a lovely (if tiring!) day yesterday! How long is DH in the States for?

Blotted - well done G!

pillows - all sounds v cute but O still moves around so much in his cot at night I think I'll have to stick to just a gro-bag for a while longer!

Hope to go and get O weighed this morning. Not had him weighed since the beginning of Feb and I thought it would be nice to get it done around his birthday. He had his 12 month jab yesterday too.

I think something may finally be happening for me on the AF front. TMI ALERT - on Saturday I had some brown discharge and last night and this morning some definite cramping pains. I guess I'll just wait and see but I really want to be able to start ttc soon!

Hello to everyone I've not had time to NC. Will try and be back on later!

febes · 12/05/2010 13:16

Periods I got mine back last week and it was so painful. Did not enjoy it at all!!!!At least it only lasted my normal 5 days.

Pula Happy birthday S!!!!

Fi Sounds like you had a loooooonnnnnggggg time in the aeroplane but glad you arrived safely.

I had a crazy morning with 3 v. needy whiney kids but they are all sleeping now so I'm recharging my batteries. DD hasn't had an accident yet today and we went to the park for a couple of hours this morning so I'm very proud of her. She is napping without a nappy at the moment so hopefully she can wait until she wakes up.

SpangleMaker · 12/05/2010 13:27

Pula hope you and S have a lovely time for his birthday. What does he think of his cozy coupe?

Blotted congrats to G on her first steps!

Ses hope you can get TTC soon. No reason not to get practising now

I'm supposed to be in Birmingham today but spent the night feeling, then being, sick and by the time I got a chance to sleep it was 45min before I was due to get up. I'm pretty sure it's a bug rather than MS as I felt really achey and shivery too, and DH had a similar thing over the w/e. I hope it's nothing that could affect the baby... probably just a virus, I guess. On the bright side I'm now feeling a bit better and have a few hours of peace and quiet at home to put my feet up .

On the election front I'm very annoyed that I now live in a Tory constituency (tho due to boundary changes rather than swing) and dismayed that for the first time in my career I'm serving a Tory led government. Hmph!

momino · 12/05/2010 14:03

Just on to say Happy Birthday to Pula's S! hope you're having a lovely day with him.

spangle, xposted yesterday - hope the tummy bug thingy goes away. put yer feet up!

Blotted, well done to G!!

H is still groping her way round the room: cruising furniture, bum shuffling, etc. She's been doing this for a while, I'd even thought she'd walk sooner than the other two. Now, she seems so content over her efficiency to move this way that she hasn't bothered to even practice standing on her own. I don't see her walking for another few weeks. (just a little of those who are taking exciting steps).

Febes, 3 whiney kids. I hope you're having a cuppa tea, legs up, etc. well done to your DD on no accidents!

ses, yes, you'd better start 'practicing' !

Flippin, where's your DH going? yes, Dave, hmmmm indeed.

Hi Dandy and Grumpy and Belg and Reggiee and running and Fi (if you're reading) and, and everyone else!

two days to holiday! Pula, not sure where we're staying. how long do you reckon it will take us to drive there from York? Am a bit worried we won't have left till after lunch. But at least I won't have any work (job or house) to do when we're there.

I need a break!

momino · 12/05/2010 14:25

Febes, I mean feet up. 'legs up' just sounds funny . ah, you know what I mean.

HeadlessLadyH · 12/05/2010 15:46

Quick hello from me and a happy birthday to pulas S. Hope you are having a lovely day!

Am at work on my late lunch break. (Yes its lunch at 3.30pm! )

Have consultants appointment/scan tomorrow and am now beginning to feel the anxiety rise. I am pretty sure I can feel movements but I am still expecting to be told there are no heartbeats tomorrow. Irrational I know. A MMC has never happened to me before. All mine have started with bleeding and I've had none so theoretically all should be well. I have no other reason to suspect this, other than someone else on the due Nov thread had a MMC having had a good scan at 9+4 and then the baby died. Its just sent my anxiety levels sky high.

So sorry not to NC at the moment. Having got that off my chest, I better do some work.

I'll let you all know how the scan goes as probably won't be back until after then.

febes · 12/05/2010 17:58

Headless Good luck with the scan. I know Loopymummy as we both had DDs in Nov 07 so was also and at her news but she said that there was a 2% chance of what happened to her. Anyway fingers crossed for 2 jumping beans .

Momino Are you away for a week?? I think the weather is meant to improve on the weekend so it should be nice for you.

Well DD has done really well all wees in the potty but poo still in pants . Hopefully she will get there soon. I bagged and chucked the pants as they were beyond gross. I left her in pants for her nap but she wet the bed so I think I'll leave her in pull ups for nap for now. Is that what you guys do?

belgina · 12/05/2010 17:59

headless Good luck with your scan tomorrow. I'll be thinking of you. Try and think of all the positive signs. It all looks good so far

Thanks for the b'day wishes for C. We had a bit of a boring day really. THe car needed servicing and we did the groceries, so there was lots of running around. Inbetween the running around I also managed to make a (rubbish) b'day cake for C. At least she got one, dd1 always seems to be missing out on b'day cakes due to xmas being so close. So far she hasn't noticed yet though. Too much excitement going on around that time of year I suppose.

spangle Hope you're feeling a bit better soon. How's the pregnancy going so far? Is the ms been not too bad?

ses Sounds ominous on the AF front. Mine still havent appeared. Not sure what's going on.

febes My other 2 moved around a lot too, but I still introduced a pillow (+grobag) in an attempt to keep their head at the right side of the cot. It sort of workt IIRC. You know. C's been my least moving baby at night. She still just lies still on her back in froggy position even though she knows how to roll, crawl, etc... The other 2 used to roll around into all sorts of places.

Blotted Well done to G on the walking. G is your official quickest walker and C my official slowest . THe other 2 walked at 10m and 12m. C's only just cracked the crawling, though she doesn't do too badly holding onto hands.

Well, my swab results are back and there was nothing there. It's starting to really get to me, this constant (TMI) wet itchiness. I'm seeing the drs again next week and hopefuly they'll be able to refer me to gynae for some sort of explanation. It's just so annoying.

belgina · 12/05/2010 18:01

Just want to add: pula Happy b'day to S. Hope you had a great day

pulapula · 12/05/2010 20:15

Hello ladies, thanks for all S's birthday wishes. He had a nice day at nursery, then threw his party tea around and his cozy coupe just caused mayhem and fighting. DD and DS1 loved pushing it around the lounge- we must get it outside asap before our TV gets damaged .

spangle- i don't know what it's like where you are, but we are definitely being told it's a coalition government and as our SoS is Vince Cable it doesn't feel like a Tory government. I have worked for a Tory government before too [pula shows her age ]

momino- i think it was almost 3 hours from Sheffield so maybe about the same from York as it will be motorways and dual carriageways all the way?

headless- good luck tomorrow. I have heard MMC are quite rare- and that having had a heartbeat on an early scan is a really good sign.

Well, nursery asked if we wanted them to try potty training DS1 (3 next month) as they have 2 others doing it ATM and they are the last ones, so worth giving it a go, as it might encourage him. We were quite happy for them to try (as we've tried and given up) but although he apparently had 1 wee on the toilet, he had 5 accidents today (including 2 at home, luckily not on the carpet, but that was in the space of an hour or so when we'd taken him to the loo twice when we thought he might need to go). I guess we will try again tomorrow at nursery, but not sure if i can put up with lots of accidents. Is that number of accidents normal? febes- my DD wore nappies for naps and nighttimes for a long time after being dry when awake. I think some DCs can keep dry when asleep, but others can't straightaway.

momino · 12/05/2010 20:40

pula, not sure about what is normal, but that sounds like a lot of accidents!

Febes, we've got dd2 in pull ups at night which are still quite heavy when she wakes up. she dropped her afternoon nap quite early (2 and a few mos) but I think we put dd1 in a pull up for naps as well.

ladyH, thinking of you tomorrow. hope all is well and looking forward to your update. I'm so excited for you. do try to relax.

Belg, hope you can get referred to the gynae and something sorted. sounds annoying.

ok, kick me out of here. got to get lotsnlotsnlots of work done before my holiday handover tomorrow.

muddleddaizy · 12/05/2010 20:43

Thank you all for your lovely msgs on fb for ds2. He had a lovely day on Sunday. Totally upstaged the minister during his dedication and loved the all the attention during the day! Ds1 seems to play with ds2's toys more than his own!

Headless all the best for tomorrow!

Glad to hear all the other babies have had good bdays! Pula love the pictures of S with his car!

Momino have a lovely holiday!

Spangle hope you feel better soon!

Febes hope you've got your feet up! I've had 2 whingy children today - it's driven me mad!

Potty training I am very about all these dc potty training. Ds1 has done 2 wees in the potty but shows absolutely no interest in weeing anywhere but his nappy. I have to bribe him to sit on the potty or toilet!

flippinegg · 12/05/2010 20:44

Evening all!

spangle - hope you feel better soon. Yay to uninterupted daytime TV!

pula - hope you get a better night tonight.

headless - will be thinking of you tomorrow x

momino - DH is going to Idaho, Philadelphia and Ohio! Very random selection of places, it's just where his work is taking him.

febes - Well done DD1! My DD1 pooed in her pants for a few weeks, bleurgh. She doesn't often nap (and hasn't for a long time), but if she does fall asleep we just put her straight on the potty before she's even awake properly and she'll wee there; the doesn't usually wee in her sleep. Last week I got weed on though, I had to wake her, was too long cuddling her and felt a very warm puddle on my leg! pula - I'm not sure DD1 is typical, but we've had days with that many accidents, . We seem to be out of full accident phase now, just in the permanently slightly damp knickers phase. again.

spangle/pula - I know I'm not there any more (), but I've never worked under a Tory govt either, missed it by one year.

We had a miracle last night - A slept through!!!!! 8-6. OMW. I'm certain it's unlikely to happen again for a while though.

flippinegg · 12/05/2010 20:46

Aaargh, I knew there'd be cross-posts! Evening muddled and momino!

pulapula · 12/05/2010 21:04

momi- yes 5 accidents and only 1 (fluke) on the loo isn't a great start. Just hard to see when he will "get it" as he just doesn't seem to understand
