hiya everyone! lovely new thread tummum thank you. i've just finished packing and tidying and dusting.. we leave sunday but stupidly we decided to do an open day session tomorrow to try and sell our flat. just got bathrooms & loos to scrub in the am and small finishing touches and we'll look presentable. It's been a truly unbelievable week this week.. placing online food shop orders to see them through to 1st june when we're back.. open day & holiday prep, gathering last info for the RDA people we're meeting about our NS plans & yes eventually managed to write my resume but was a complete nightmare as the only CV I found was from 1993!!! My dad is not well again.. V bad chest infection & was taken into hospital mon night.. discharged tuesday pm but he collapsed this afternoon, mum called the ambulance and they decided to re-admit him. will find out if it has now developed into pneumonia again tomorrow i think. sorry not been on much lately. i'm missing you all!
tories got back in again here.. i'm another lib dem. will do My best to pop back on this afternoon. xoxox

HeadlessLadyH · 08/05/2010 08:35

fi hope you got to bed after your post! 1am!!!! Fingers crossed for your open day, and am so excited for you for your trip. And best wishes to your pa aswell for a speedy recovery.

Good thinking belgina re the developmental things. I have that Wonder Weeks book and was avidly reading it for the first few milestones but it has been left on the side somewhat recently. I will now dig it out, as all the signs are there with R.

ses hope you and O have a lovely day on Sunday. And really really hope the weather is ok for you. LOL at the shoes. So cute!!! And if you find yourself at a loose end on the 20th May in Nottm, give me a shout. I don't work Thursdays and I'm sure I could squeeze in a quick latte if you have 10 mins.

Wonder how running and reebee are this morning!

Am down to do court again this morning. I have ear marked some new maternity clothes on ASOS so if I do 2 Saturday courts, then it gives me enough to buy them, but am waiting to hear if there are any in the cells awaiting my expert help! Had a really bad day on Wednesday with bail ( you lot will think I am a rubbish solicitor at this rate!) so I hope things will improve today if need be.

belgina · 08/05/2010 11:34

C's got all the signs of a developmental milestone brewing, that's why I dug my book out yesterday in the 1st place. She's sleeping really restlessly again and is clingier than recent weeks, etc...

fi nice to see you back. Sounds like you've got quite a busy day today. Sorry to hear about your dad. It must be very worrying to leave when he's unwell.

febes running How are you this morning? Not too hung over I hope?

headless I hope that you'll have a good Saturday Court day today. I'm sure you must be a good solicitor, with just a bit of a run of bad luck

ses Have a lovely day tomorrow. I hope the sun comes out for the party.

Talking about house sales earlier. We're having a bit of a dispute with our buyers and estate agents. We accepted a lower offer on the conditions of a fast (6 week) sale based on a cash buy. Now it's been 7 weeks and they want to move completion yet again to 21 May and we've discovered that it isn't a cash sale and that they're in the process of selling their other house. We did them a favour by fixing a few bits and pieces at our own cost that had come up in the survey, so we're feeling really let down at the moment, mainly by the estate agents who we have a feeling new quite a few weeks ago that the sale wasn't cash after all. The communication from that agent has been totally rubbish and he has been absolutely terrible at following our instructions. After talking to the solicitor we've decided to up the price to reflect the losses. We're secretely hoping the sale will fall through because of all of this, so we can change agents and go to the old and trusted agent that we've used in the past.

Lovely to see you!!!

HeadlessLadyH · 08/05/2010 11:40

No one needed me at court today.

febes · 08/05/2010 13:23

Hi Dandy!!!!! Sooo nice to see you. H sounds gorgeous.

I am so hungover. I have just managed to eat some toast and have a coffee after spending all morning in bed. DH is looking after me and the DCs although he is a very reluctant helper. I'm letting him watch the formula 1 as a treat .

I had 5 different cocktails and then red wine and a shot of apple sours!!!! We had a brilliant night though and did lots of dancing and flirting with young barmen.

Belgina Sorry to hear about the sale problems. Estate agents can be right twats .

Fi What a busy week and weendend for you!! Hope the open home is busy today and you manage to relax tonight before your big trip. Have a great time away.

The 8th of May was my due date so feeling all misty eyed today. Rs birthday is next Monday though so I have a bit more time to plan what we are going to do. My dad is over on business and arrives next Sunday so I might make a nice roast and have cake that day and maybe take the DCs somewhere nice on his actual birthday. I have a number 1 cake tin take I used for DDs first birthday so just have to decide on the decorations.

DD has started potty training and has been in knickers this morning. She did one wee in her knickers but then 2 in the potty .

Ses Hope the weather improves for Os BBQ tomorrow. I'm sure it will be great anyway!!
Hi everyone else!!

febes · 08/05/2010 13:25

Headless I meant to say, your job sounds so exciting with bail hearings and GBH cahrges and stuff.

muddleddaizy · 08/05/2010 21:21

Dandy good to 'see' you! Ds sounds very sweet

Febes & Headless glad you had good nights out.

Fi hope you have a fantastic holiday. Sounds like you need one after the last week!! Hope your dad gets better soon.

Belgina sorry to hear of your house woes - hope you manage to sort it out soon. Must be so frustrating!

Ses Hope you have a lovely day tomorrow! We are having Ds2 dedicated at church tomorrow morning and my family are coming back to ours for a bbq. I don't go much on big 1st bday presents so ds1 has bought him a book and we've got him a small ride on for him.

I took time off during the week so I could clean the house whilst the dc's were at nursery - the house looks just as bad again - its so frustrating! I've also got a stinking cold and feel awful!

Blottedcopybook · 08/05/2010 22:07

Just bookmarking - HI DANDY!! XX

essenceofSES · 08/05/2010 22:45

muddled - sounds like a lovely day planned. Hope you all enjoy. Will be thinking of you and O's birthday buddy

Febes - sounds like you had a brilliant night out. Shame about the hangover but I'm sure it was worth it!
Great news on DD's potty training!

Fi - hope your trip goes really well. Soooo exciting!
Sorry about your Dad. Hope you manage to keep abreast of his good progress whilst you're away.

Dandy - good to 'see' you. We have a similar problem with stairgates but obviously no older little one to have to work out how to get through.

Belgina - how rubbish! That's really not on fir you to have been mislead so much.
Interesting about the development spurt. O has improved in the last week but before that was often waking twice a night again so hopefully he's got through it!

Right DH coming up to bed so I'd best switch my phone off. Hello everyone else and G'night!!

momino · 08/05/2010 22:53

Hi everyone!
good to see you again Dandy!

Fi, hope your dad is ok soon and have a wonderful holiday.

Belgina, hope things work out with your house sale in the end. that's rubbish of the buyers.

Febes, how're you feeling now?

Ses, hope O has a marvellous birthday.

muddled, hope you're feeling better soon. I've got a cold as well. though not surprised as both dd1 and H have had stuffy noses so I've been sneezed upon and H has been dragging her snotty nose all over me (yuck).

flip, that's amazing of A! H has been mobile for awhile but has only stood on her own for th efirst time today (I didn't see it).

reebee, about the welfare state - i'm so embarrassed about the mindset of many americans who don't want to 'pay for other people's healthcare'. I just don't get it. very sad.
HI reggiee, llare, running, grumpy, and everyone else I may have missed!

sitting here and getting annoyed at DH's 'mouth noises' whilst eating a magnum. why am i so irritated at such a trivial thing?

flippinegg · 10/05/2010 08:52

Morning!

milestones - A obviously hasn't read the book , she's sleeping better than she has for a while and is getting slightly less clingy! Before you all start throwing tomatoes at me, she still wakes at least once a night, and does cry when I leave, it's just a bit quieter than before!!!

dandy - hello!

fi - have a fab holiday. Hope the open house thing went ok.

belgina - that all sounds like a right pain, hope it works out for you.

muddled - hope yesterday went well and you had a good day!

This time a year ago I didn't realise that I was in early labour. I just felt really grumpy!

flippinegg · 10/05/2010 08:53

Cross-posts! Hello Febes and Fi!

febes · 10/05/2010 09:16

Fi I think you might all sleep on the plane. Will G be on your laps the whole way??? Have a brilliant time.

Flip Glad A is sleeping better. R is sleeping well too he has gone all night for ages now and is taking less time to settle at night. I now feed him downstairs and then we go up for bath, story and bed. I'm preparing him for his slipper cup of cows milk that I might start him on next week. I am still feeding him in the morning and sometimes once in the day if he asks for it.

Blottedcopybook · 10/05/2010 09:44

Have a lovely holiday Fi x

runningmonkey · 10/05/2010 20:51

Hi all,
Sorry for posting and running the other night. I'm really struggling to find time to do anything other than read but I am thinking of you all, especially with all the birthdays going on. I am particularly loving the reminiscing about magnums - I mentioned my addiction on my Mum's night out and someone else said they were addicted to them too and I did wonder if she was secretly letting me know she was on here

belg sorry you are having house troubles and hope they get sorted soon. Hope the snot fairy leaves your house soon too.

flip glad to hear A is sleeping better

Hellooooooooo dandy nice to 'see' you

febes have you recovered from the hangover now?

headless and spangle hope you are both doing ok

I cycled to my Mum's night out so only had a couple of glasses of red in case of drunken cycling accidents!

Hello to everyone else I've missed as usual I've spent ages typing this and now forgotten what I've wanted to say. Never did get the hang of the double window as trademarked by Fi

essenceofSES · 10/05/2010 21:14

Hello!!!

I have a confession to make.... I don't think I've ever had a Magnum!!! We generally keep a stock of Cornettos in the freezer but the next warm day, I'm going to go and buy me a Magnum

Flip - Great that A's sleeping and clingyness are improving! LOL at this time last year and feeling grumpy.

Febes - great that R is sleeping well too. I have occassionally fed O downstairs and then DH has soothed him to sleep but he doesn't seem to let me soothe him to sleep without feeding him He'll kick and wriggle and scream and softie that I am, I give in!

Fi - hope your journey is going ok. Can't wait to hear all about your trip

muddled - hope you had a lovely time yesterday

birthdays - I think there's 3 tomorrow? Belgina's C, Dandy's H and Flip's A?
Happy Birthday!!!!

We had a fantastic day with O yesterday. We did do a BBQ but ate it inside. O was a star and lapped up the attention. I was amazed when my BF and goddaughter from York turned up! They got the train down for the day - best suprise I've had in ages

Hello running, blotted, momi and anyone else I've missed.

belgina · 10/05/2010 22:28

Hi everyone,

Just about to go to bed as I'm shattered after the last few nights. C and DS came down with a cold yesterday evening. DS had a cough and a temp and C had no temp, no cold, but a blocked nose. Oddly enough at exactly the same time of day. C was just not settling in her sleep last night. Constantly waking because she couldn't breathe. Today I got her some vaporub, some saline nose drops and a pillow (now she's officially about to become a big girl she can have one ) and so far she's been asleep since 6.30 with only the odd murmur, but no real waking. Fingers crossed that's set the tone for the night.

DS has been wet at night for the last few nights too. I had been wondering why, but then when he became down with that cold, I think I had my answer.

fi Have a great time in Canada. It must all be very exciting. I hope that vulcanic ash wont cause too much trouble for you on the way back

flip Great news about A's sleeping/clinginess. Though C had had a few weeks of better sleeping in a long time and then she regressed. Not that I want to scare you or anything

dandy Hi! Nice to see you. Sounds like you're all doing well.

A big wave to momi ses blotted and running too

Ooh, only a few more hours and it's officially a year since C was born. She was born on a monday, so it's already been her b'day today just a little bit . We went out with a friend today, who's little was 1 a couple of weeks ago and I got her a whole load of outfits that are suitable for crawling I spent far too much, but the poor thing keeps getting stuck on her dresses and skirt end up by her armpits, lol. I also got her the all important cot pillow, which she liked so much that when I made her lie on it in the living room, she promptly closed her eyes as the pillow was already sending her to sleep, lol.

Night everyone.

Reggiee · 11/05/2010 07:56

Happy birthday to the trio. Hope you all have a wonderful day.
