No definitely can't get onto FW page.

Guimauve · 07/01/2010 20:58

Morning ladies

Bebe - on your behalf. Your DH clearly needs to become a bit more responsible before you consider having another one - particularly as he already said he would before Moo came long and things haven't improved. Has he always been like this? I'm sure he's lovely in a million different ways otherwise you wouldn't be with him but he does need to pull his socks up - it's not fair on you. You must be so frustrated. What's your next move?

King - how's little one today? Hope she's much better.

Puzzle you naughty naughty girl very proud that you got deleted. Loved your haiku as well by the way. How's Ellen today?

Auld - how's A? Any better sleeps?

WFH - any more news on your mum?

Nutty - how's your DB? Are you heading there this weekend?

O and I are going swimming today - brrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrr. He has recently learned how to clap hands and now he spends the whole day sitting there and clapping his hands - very cute

Guimauve · 08/01/2010 08:11

Good morning my lovers! The weather here continues pleasant

I must say, this whole Garry/ Beta/ working mothers thing has fair warmed my cockles, though I imagine MNHQ might be doing a bit of "Mua-ha-ha-ha! The power! THE POWER!". I am enjoying MN very much of late. There is BA, a live bakathon at lunchtime, lots of discussing of the weather, and I have stumbled upon a thread where I can discuss my beloved Black Country pork sandwiches. Actually, Surprise et al, if you have any opinions on the museum, Dudley zoo etc, head over here

Fei how was the swine flu jab? Still umming and aahing about getting Oscar done...

Morning Gui I too am loving MN at the moment - I'm sure some of the people on here must be famous comediennes...

gingersarah · 08/01/2010 09:08

Sorry to be dim, but what is the Garry / beta / working mothers thing?

Bebe - good luck with your man child.

Feierabend · 08/01/2010 09:13

Morning. Swine flu jab went well, Hazel is her usual happy self so far, although I just had to put her down for her nap a bit early.

Won't have much time to post today as it's a Friday...

Guimauve · 08/01/2010 09:41

Having just trawled through the rest of Anna's AIBU, I would just like to say that I firmly believe I could eat at least 3 croissants before feeling ill.

Yawn and thrice yawn.

Holly now has Ellens cold and I spent most of the small hours keeping her upright so she could breathe comfortably. My poor babies.
I must say, I think DH is a better person than me. He told me not to take them to my friends. If it were the other way round I would be angrily telling him "I told you so!". Gah.

I have a ton of work to do today so please make me feel most unwelcome if I pop up before this evening.

King - I hope Iris is better today.

Bicnod - I was a bit worried I might get a telling off but others were cheekier than mine.
Swimming? Are you bonkers?

Fei - That's very reassuring. I'm glad it didn't upset her, I have heard that it is quite painful.

bebemoohatessnot · 08/01/2010 09:42

Just checking in. one of those nights again... Will those damn teeth please come in and will the cold go please ? And when you're finished with her I'd like my own cold to leave and my energy levels back. Thank you very much.

Hugs everyone. I'm going to have a good day starting with my iron and some paracetmol. x

kingbeat23 · 08/01/2010 09:49

Morning peeps,

How is everyone??

Well after speaking to gp who said to starve her and listening to her wailing from 8.30 pm, got through to NHS direct who said to feed her as usual today and forever and current consensus is that starving anyone with a stomach bug is not how its done these days and the only thing to steer clear of is sugars.

So we had milk at 11 and then she slept through till 8...another bottle at 8. Still not 100%, a bit of a grump and got runny poo...but better than the screaming upset child i had yesterday.

Thanks for all the advice and support guys.

Nutty - where you be? everything ok?

I find MN one of the funniest places at the mo and regularly find myself snorting my coffee over the keyboard at posts...is that tmi??

AuldAlliance · 08/01/2010 09:59

Morning.

A slept fine, thanks Bicnod. Well, I mean he woke twice, had a quick feed and then went right back to sleep.

DS1, on the other hand, now has yet another tummy bug.

Got A to the CM's, then DH set off in the car to find his motorbike, which he had abandoned on the motorway exit road in a blizzard last night (with bitter irony, about an hour after he had left it the temperature rose dramatically and it has since been p'ing with rain).

He called to say he had found it and it had started, so he drove home, we bundled an ill DS1 into the car and set off, only to find it had vanished.

DH called the police to report it stolen, and we drove home.

Decided to stop at the motorway gendarmerie on the way, to ask them to keep an eye out, and they said a breakdown lorry had removed it in the 20mins it had taken DH to call me, drive home and return.

Drove to the garage, waited around, drove home, and DS1 promptly spewed all over the sofa, his clothes, my clothes and the floor.

I am slowly losing grip, TBH. I've given up trying to work. I'm so tired I can barely focus, never mind concentrate on anything. I have a whole new course on translating travel literature to write in the next 2 wks, and I have not the brainpower to do so.

On the possibly plus side, Alex has a tooth coming in at last. Is he the only one who still has none? I can feel it just under the lower gum, and it now hurts when he "kisses" me by clamping my chin between his jaws.

Puzzle, I fully sympathise with the upright night scenario, it is a real killer.

What is the Garry thing?
Bon courage everyone.

Kalikaroo · 08/01/2010 10:44

Morning all! Bebe I'm completely at your DH - my DH also requires LOTS of nagging and reminders to actually get anything done to the point that I totally lose the plot sometimes. I hope your DH manages to get a grip ASAP. It's not fair on you or Moo for him to procrastinate and use excuses (like Moo doesn't like him) to get out of doing things. My DS also loves his Mam and sometimes screams his head off if DH picks him up at night (which is hardly ever), but it's because babies like to have familiar things and the more you DH deals with Moo the more used to your DH Moo will become when she's upset.

Hope all the poorly babies (and Mums) have a better day today.

I'm currently trying to get organised for going back to work on Monday while DH takes A out in his pram for a walk/nap (it's minus 14C today, so he's a brave man - and baby! ). A only has a decent nap when he's in the pram, but it's not easy taking him out when it's so cold...

My flat is a pig sty, my hair looks like a nest of rats tails, I look like poo and I can barely remember my own name.....how will I ever manage to go back to work?????? (and be clever?)

Here's some more snow for you all!

mrsgboring · 08/01/2010 10:57

Morning all. Sorry, I've lost control of the thread - placemarking to try again tonight when the builders are gone

Guimauve · 08/01/2010 11:12

Still no teeth here either Auld

Having been saying how much I like MN lately, apparently Riven has de-regged because of comments on the Wootton Bassett and the snowy teachers threads. It's a funny old place and no mistake.

Not sure why I've turned into a gossip-monger.
