Auld you might want to be friends with him. He's kind of pretty if you go in for foppish blond Brideshead type Old Etonians and a multi squillionnaire, oh and recently single.

But I think he has his sights set on Puzzle. She's playing hard to get though .

AuldAlliance · 12/02/2010 11:59

Hmm, Wriggly, I am very torn.
I do not go for foppish blond Etonians, far less for Tory candidates.
However, his environmental credentials are obviously very, very interesting and I might indeed want to be friends with him.
Off to look at his mum's house now on that other link. That may be the clincher.

FIL is bringing DS1 on the train, we are meeting them halfway in Montpellier station. There goes my nice long weekend on the banks of the Garonne, with civilised chat and handy babysitters. Here comes a week's half term at home alone with the 2 boys....Moaning minny, that's moi.

AuldAlliance · 12/02/2010 12:01

Oh, that's not his mum's house. Doh.

Don't like the wallpaper anyway.

WrigglyGiggly · 12/02/2010 12:08

his mum's gaff. Can't find a pic of the wallpaper though.

dawntigga · 12/02/2010 12:14

Erm, he looks the tiniest bit imbred for my liking.

Mind you, having said that, Robins family comes from the Stoke area. Stoke has the lowest outward migration of any town in the UK. You can tell if you look at this family. Our standing joke is, if you look closely you can see where Robin had the webbing removed from between his fingers and toes. I swear the first family do I went to I was faced with his Uncle who looked like Chunk out of the Goonies. His family is inbred and mine are pure white trash.

AuldAlliance · 12/02/2010 12:14

OK, I'll be his friend. I could cope with living in a house like that. At a push.

AuldAlliance · 12/02/2010 12:23

This is our ancestral seat. Well, kind of. Indirectly. If you think that clan = family.
D'you reckon I cut the mustard?

Tigga, my dad has webbed toes. Sign of excellent and ancient lineage.

bronze · 12/02/2010 12:46

AAs minging

Bicnod · 12/02/2010 14:58

Signing off for the weekend - we've got a hectic one with about three different sets of visitors. Hope everyone has a snot free sleep full time and lots of crumbly custard

xxx

p.s. O woke only once last night - woooooooohoooooooooooooooo

dawntigga · 12/02/2010 17:25

Bonsoir Alert!

StalkerOfBATiggaxx

BoffinMum · 12/02/2010 17:30

I'm way posher than the Menzies. Auld is a mere upstart.

Look here

And I have shagged a James VI lookalike!

Feierabend · 12/02/2010 20:10

I have a dressing table.

But thanks for that link to Glebe House, Puzzle, being in the house hunting business at the moment it makes me feel rather depressed. And all I want is a three bed with a proper garden!

LOL at 'I'm wearing mine pink one Princess Tutu'. DD1 speaks like that too.

I can confirm that little Holly is about to take her first steps, I saw her today.

MrsG Brussels without the DSs?

Zac, pretty? Nah.

Feierabend · 12/02/2010 20:13

Okay I don't have a castle My mum grew up in a train station, does that count as posh?

mrsgboring · 12/02/2010 20:26

Fei Brussels with the DSes. It is horrendous how much stuff we are taking. It's gonna snow. I am full of doom about it, but moderately buoyed up by finding a washbag still packed from our sojourn in Slough last summer.

ZuluWarrior · 13/02/2010 09:11

Oh hello. Happy weekend! My DH has just left for Africa with work for 10 days so we are all alone. But on the plus side we're going down sarf on Monday for a week to visit some people. Yay!

Mrsg I'm sure the failed hearing test is because of ear snot. Poor little E. And good luck in Brussels!

AA be careful in the snow. But hope you get to Toulouse. Oh, have just read your later post. Bad luck. Cosy up and cuddle with your boys instead. And drink wine when they go to bed .

Tigga at inbreeding and white trash.

Boff and AA - aren't you posh? I have married into a family with the same name as a castle in the borders. Does that count?

Feier - people that grown up in train stations are called tramps where I come from .

Right. Should really do some tidying while the babywarrior sleeps.

bronze · 13/02/2010 09:27

Fei I have a three bed with a proper garden you can have. I love living here, just don't fit anymore
I used to have a dressing table but sent it back to my parents when we moved into out last house as it didn't fit and then my parents moved abroad and got rid of all the furniture( they asked me first but I had no choice)

I come from various posh bits of stock I also have some ridiculously intelligent people (my Grandpa had 6 sets of letters after his name ffs and they're just the ones he bothered with) in my family and I'm really wondering why I didn't inherit any of it. None! No money no brains! No fair
I want the big castle, I don't care if its rambling and hard to heat. I could keep warm running from one wing to the other

{grin} @ tramps

Can you keep your fingers crossed for us. DH had an interview for a job that would mean we could afford a car we could all fit in.

Mrsg- do they not have babyfood in brussels you could buy?

ZuluWarrior · 13/02/2010 10:27

grew up dammit.

Fingers crossed bronze! When's the interview?

bronze · 13/02/2010 10:57

It was yesterday but theyre interviewing others next week too

ZuluWarrior · 13/02/2010 12:45

Sorry Bronze. I appear to be getting thicker as time goes on. You talked about the interview in the past tense. How did he think it went?

bronze · 13/02/2010 13:26

Its probably more to do with the fact that everything I type normally has to be translated into English

He wasn't sure. He thought it went really well but it was very short. I'm wondering if it's because he used to work for their main competitor so they know he knows the market inside out.

dawntigga · 14/02/2010 10:40

Morning,

SatListeningToTheArchersTiggaxx

BoffinMum · 14/02/2010 11:40

Zulu, sounds like you is well posh as well. Everyone round there is related to each other so we claim you as kin.

Now I am very stressed today. DD has announced she is dropping out of uni two months before her finals. Apparently she has a job offer in the fashion industry.

WHAT KIND OF ** CAREER CHOICE IS THAT, I ASK YOU?????????

I am very tempted to sit in the corner of the room with a bottle of sherry and a straw. Indefinitely.

AuldAlliance · 14/02/2010 12:02

Oh shit, Boff. What is she studying???? Surely she can hang in there until finals?
Sending virtual support and sympathy, useless I know....

Zulu, Stobo is a lovely surname.

DH has gone to get DS1.

A has another cold. Sleep plans all gone to pot.

BoffinMum · 14/02/2010 12:07

Politics.
She is apparently so far behind on her work that it is apparently better to drop out than fail. So she says.
If she had partied a bit less we would all be a lot more sanguine about it.

bronze · 14/02/2010 12:10

Does she pay all her own upkeep because if she doesnt I would (if she were mine) tell her that she has to pay every penny back if she drops out
