Well done LOM!

Yes, my mother has always been late on sending cards from Espana. It is very annoying as she surely knows how their postal system works by now! Having said that, i'd better get my arse into gear and get hers in the post too!!

Happy Friday everyone!

Hurrah a shiny new thread! Thanks LOM.

Haven't got much to say I'm afraid, I have been rushing around like a headless chicken all week and I find that when I stop and sit down, my brain has been scrambled.

RG and Loopy - YANBU but I suppose we as their mums are far more bothered than they are at this age. One of our friends (who was a really close friend BA or before Adam!) forgot his birthday this year and it made me feel sad, not so much for his sake but because it is a sign of how our friendship has dwindled. I must be one of those boring baby bores or something .

I'm out Friday, Saturday, Sunday this weekend (get me) and got a new Ted Baker dress to wear (which is actually quite warm and can be worn with thick black tights just in case you thought I was glam!), and Virgin have just delived a crate of wine so all is well with the world.

jetgirl · 11/12/2009 23:23

Loopy - is that AA Milne?

Greedy - I too am out Saturday and Sunday, however both events are birthday partied to which my children have been invited! a 1st birthday tomorrow and a joint 1st and 4th birthday on Sunday. Both will be lovely, and DD has a new outfit so she's happy!

RG - I am awful at posting the overseas cards (I have my aunt's in my handbag still and she lives in San Francisco so I can't imagine she'll get it much before Christmas!) having said that I did manage to get my sister's present to Australia in good time.

William is so much better now he's finished his antibiotics, which he loved! The bottle smelled like refreshers and we didn't have to bribe him at all! He didn't care for his eye drops though Hopefully we'll all manage to be healthy for Christmas this year! DD is enjoying doing the nativity play at school, all the year R pupils are villagers. DD has told me the whole story about how Mary and Joseph went to Bethany Hen! I am so looking forward to seeing the play next Wednesday, and we're allowed to take photos

Loopy, I didn't realise that Bravissimo also made dresses, I had a mental image of you going out in a bra .

Crikey, 10 days til Christmas!!

littleoldme · 16/12/2009 02:51

Loopy. V amused at the thought of you out in your undies! I too love Bravissimo. I'll never forget going to buy undies for wedding in there. the matronly assistant asked. " Is it for during the wedding , or for 'after' the wedding " You just don't get euphemism like that in Marks and Spencer.
Hope the antibiotics have worked and that you are now on the mend.
Oh - and well done on the literary reference.

Jet - great that William is on the mend. Sounds like he had a rough time.

I'm posting at 3 am because T keeps having a nasty croupy cough. Hope he's ok - it's his birthday party on Sat and we've got a really bust few days coming up.

Lots of love and festive cheer to one and all X

Loopy - awww school hamsters!! I think i only ever got to take mine home once. I used to love having hamsters as a kid. Shame they snuffed it so often tho.....

LOL Loopy! Those class hamsters must have interesting lives!

Just looked at the Bravissimo website and realised that it is not for me; my boobs are too tiny!

Christmas is indeed too much like hard work. When on earth am I meant to shop, wrap and cook for 2 sets of grandparents in addition to preparing lessons for next term, marking and most importantly of all watching Dirtgirl World with his lordship. Think I need a secretary, cook, butler and a dishwasher. Arghhhh! Oh but I can't wait to see Adam's face on xmas morning!!

ChristmasRGPargyCarol · 16/12/2009 21:54

Loopy!!!!! So glad you got him back!! Hope he survives til next weekend...... (lol!).

ChristmasRGPargyCarol · 16/12/2009 21:55

Greedy - cripes you sound uber busy!! I pity you having to watch Dirtgirl world too. I think it's really odd how they've half animated it and half used real people who look like they cant move their heads properly lol. Give me Chuggington and Timmy Time any day! (but gggrr @ CBeebies stopping these programmes from this week!).

Febesisachristmascracker · 17/12/2009 09:15

What why is Chuggington stopping???? And Timmy Time? Dirtgirl World is terrifying! I also can't wait to see DCs faces at Christmas. We are going to our toddler group Christmas party today and Anabel is in a lovely party dress and she feels very special from the way she is prancing around. Rueben is dressed as a reindeer.

littleoldme · 17/12/2009 09:25

What no Chuggington - not at all traintastic.

ChristmasRGPargyCarol · 17/12/2009 13:01

Think it's just a change in the schedule. Bloody Teletubbies was on this morning at 8am(ish)

littleoldme · 17/12/2009 14:26

Loopy - Our cat ate my sister's class hamster; we never recovered.

Greedy- order everything prewrapped from Amazon. Don't prep, just spend the first week of term doing quizzes and posters about what you covered this term. If the grandparents insist on coming for dinner - go to M and S get evrything predone andjust chuck it in the oven. As it's all on foil trays you won't even have any pots to scrub.
This will leave ample time for Dirt Girl ( anyone else think it sounds a bit porno ?)
AND you'll save money on hiring the staff you mentioned.

RG - Yes , I only just noticed the freudian neglige slip when I re-read my post!

LOL @ LOM!!! The poor hamster!

Dirt Girl and what's the boy's name? Grubby Boy or something? lol. It does indeed sound tres tres dodgy!!

Chuggington is still on in the evening - phew, I would have had a riot on my hands here if it wasn't!! I can't stand Dirtgirl world either, their heads are too freaky for me!

LOM - I wished I'd thought of planning Christmas like that - Greedy, go with that plan!

Loopy - trampolining on Christmas eve sounds fun - though maybe a little on the chilly side! I am also loving the Christmas hols.

RG - have you had a lot of snow? We've had a bit, but it's the ice that's really treacherous. I didn't leave the house today as the kids would have been all over the place!

littleoldme · 21/12/2009 21:15

Well we've had a busy few days. T had his birthday in a snall soft play soft centre. He shared it wiuth a friend as we have lots of people in common. When we booked it I felt it was a bit a bit extravagant but it was worth every penny. They all had loads have fun; the adults got catch up and no tidying up afterwards.

My cousin and her hubby came to visit last night. T did massive projectile vomitting just as we were about to eat - nice. I felt a bit embarrassed until I remembered my cousin has just finished her A and E rotation where there was much worse.

Well there's a bit of snow here in the North but the main problem is ice. It's absolutely treacherous.

Glad you all like my plan for Greedy's Christmas dinner. I tell you, if we ever have the misfortune to host Christmas dinner it's exactly what I'll be doing.

ChristmasRGPargyCarol · 22/12/2009 17:08

Jet - yes we've had about 8 inches of snow here It came up to the top of DD's wellies!! We were stuck indoors from Friday onwards and eventually yesterday i made sure i got out of the house in my car! The road was alot more slushy than icy so it wasn't too bad at all driving. The worst part was getting the car off the (snow covered) green and actually onto the road. The ice on the footpaths is very trechorous tho, even with my super duper grippy trog boots on!!

LOM - Glad T had a brilliant birthday. My friend has hired a soft play centre for her DD's birthday in January (she'll be 3) so if Ellie enjoys it, I will probably do the same for her 3rd birthday too!
