theSuburbanDryad · 06/08/2008 22:17

I have got a really sore throat and horrible cough which keeps making me sick.

Waaaaaaa!!

Wilkiepedia · 07/08/2008 07:54

UD - J has chest infection which has come from a nasty cough and sore throat. He is on antibiotics. How many weeks pg are you now?

Meant to tell you my embarrassing story from yesterday! We went to pick up his antibiotics from the pharmacy. Whilst in there he did a trump whilst I was holding him and I giggled and whispered in his ear 'Did you do a trump'. He giggled back and shouted 'MUMMY TRUMP MUMMY TRUMP!' really loudly. He wouldn't stop saying it and obv everyone could understand what he was saying. I was mortified!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I tried explaining that he was actually meaning 'Mummy I did a trump' but I don't think anyone believed me. Oh the shame

Lizzzombie · 07/08/2008 18:03

hi - just a quickie to bookmark this page.
Spare a thought for LTH - she is camping in the rain this week and I get the feeling she is a bit over it.
We had proper terrential rain last night for about an hour. Just as I opened the door of the pub to leave the heavens opened on me. I was absolutely drenched...in my new shoes too!

Shimmer · 07/08/2008 23:45

Oooh Lizz, I didn't know you were getting married in August. I've started telling everyone we're (as in me and my DP, not me and you!!) getting married on the last weekend of June, but we havn't even started looking for venues yet Also, did you see my post a while back about Lewes? We might be moving there Do you know it? Please say some reassuring things about it.....

Get well soon UD Very cute pictures of Z btw!

Vino, RGee - we're coming up to York on 25th-27th August. Sadly not staying in your swanky castle RGee but in the Novotel in York, which I am just completely embarrased by now! Anyway, I know it's a bit short notice, but if either of you fancy meeting up on afternoon of BH Mon. or maybe lunch on Tuesday 26th, let me know.

F's got a stinking cold at the moment and is waking up loads in the night and i'm not getting much sleep, so I really should be in bed by now.....

eandh · 08/08/2008 05:45

Morning - aaargh Ellie threw a huge tantrum at bed time last night which went on and on until it woke Hattie up at 8pm she took till 11pm to go back to sleep and then got up at 5am (Ellie fell asleep just after 8 and is still in bed ) I am so tired and I am at work today so will need matchsticks to keep my eyes open

laughalot · 08/08/2008 08:48

Eah bless you the little madam.

Shimmer nothing wrong with the novotel in york.

Lizzzombie · 08/08/2008 17:25

Shimmer - I didn't see your Lewes post at all.
Its lovely there, some lovely shops, bars, restaurants etc. Very arty too. Great place for a childrens bookshop! There is a MASSIVE soft play centre there. Monkey Business I think its called. Its fab! Plus, LTH & I both live near there. You should definately move there! x

eandh · 08/08/2008 19:13

phew am glad today is over, both e and h in bed although e playing in her bed (which is fine as long as shes quiet and doesnt bother me!) I have got to do 9-1 tomorrow to help out so DH has them which means the house --will- be wrecked so doubt they'll do alot.

Am so looking forward to tomorrow night and a lay in sunday (E&H at my parents) but we have to pick them up at 11.30 as got a christening in the afternoon!

theSuburbanDryad · 09/08/2008 09:17

Hi all - feeling much better today, but still coughing lots and utterly exhausted as we had to change the sheets in the middle of the night as someone (ie - not me or Z) soiled the bed. I think he has IBS but he's refusing to see the dr's so he's getting no feckin sympathy from me.

Z has just eaten 3 massive bowls of cereal and 2 pieces of toast - little piglet! I don't know where he puts it all though - he's a skinny little thing!

Shimmer · 09/08/2008 12:28

Ooh I just looked up the Monkey Bizness (cool spelling eh?!!?) website Lizz! It looks amazing! Freddie would go nuts in there Thanks for the encouraging words. I knwo it's silly but I have a bit of a phoebia of living outside of London. Lewes does look great though. The children's bookshop there - Bags of Books, is for sale. So we're looking into buying it. I think it's been steadily ticking along and takes a reasonable amount of money, but I reckon we could definitely improve it. Hopefully. Maybe.

Been out to buy Freddie a potty this morning! (not much to do today...) I reckon it probably is still a bit early for proper training, but I'm going to start "introducing" him to it now. I saw my cousin yesterday and her DS is 2.5 and still not even a bit potty trained, which I was a bit at.

What is it with men and the docs eh UD? Ok, they are generally pretty awful, but when you gotta go you gotta go. Definitly right not to be sympathatic til he agress to do something about it!!

theSuburbanDryad · 09/08/2008 14:04

We've just found The House.

3 bed, semi detached, lovely gardens, views out over the Chilterns, really nice decoration and carpet, gorgeous bathroom.

Guess how much.

Go on, guess.

...

...

...

Ok. I'll tell you.

£185,000

We've put in an offer. O.M.G. I'm so excited!!!

eandh · 09/08/2008 16:22

Wow UD trhat sounds good - have you got a link (I like a bit of property porn!)

Shimmer - bookshop sounds good and if you have an opening day (if you go ahead) let me know as love to travel down and have a nosy look

eandh · 09/08/2008 16:24

Shimmer - we have about 60% success rate of Hattie weeing on potty but mainly when shes naked or knickers on (her choice she hates nappies) and the fact that Ellie constantly asks her if she needs a wee and then sits her onpotty and if she does anything Ellie gets Hattie a chocolate button from fridge (Hattie has clicked wee=chocolate!)

I do need to buy a new padded seat for loo as threw Ellies away and she it was useful as Ellie had a fear of falling down the toilet!

vinorouge · 09/08/2008 17:23

Shimmer - defo up for meeting BH Mon, will come to York if thats easier for you.

I've just been to buy potties today, going to start trying Ellen with that too. She gets her nappy off quite a lot and sometimes tells us when she's weed or pooed. It feels like it will be a lot of work but I guess its got to be doen sometimes. Better get some knickers too!

Knackered at the mo. Will post properly later. Actually, prob tomorrow.

theSuburbanDryad · 09/08/2008 17:32

Here it is - there aren't any good pictures of the inside though. Looks a bit manky from the outside but it's nice inside, i promise!!

vinorouge · 09/08/2008 17:42

rgee - are you free to meet shimmer? which day is best for you as I could do either.

Reggiee · 09/08/2008 18:47

Hi all. Just back with the lo from a few days Birmingham way seeing my friend and her dd. Horrid drive home in the rain. Had a fab time catching up, and the girls played really well together.

Shimmer / Vino am well up for a meet in York. Monday would be better cos I'll have lo then.

UD how exciting about the house. Hope your offer is accepted.

Hope the ill people are feeling better. Blardy weather. Again.

This potty talk is interesting. I haven't given it much thought but wondered whether to get a potty just for decoration () in the bathroom. I thought I'd wait until lo showed some sort of interest in it, so might be one of those who doesn't potty train until 2.5 Shimmer!! I did buy some aged 2 -3 pants in the Next sale in preparation though!

Fancy a dominos pizza for tea tonight. Mmmm...

laughalot · 09/08/2008 21:13
