Morning, had a lovely evening but ate far to much and feel bleugh this morning. Havent got to get the girls till 11 so chilling on here for an hour then shower etc then off to a christeninh this aftenoon ( E and H had a late night last night so going to be overtired tired nice!)

PCF - hope party goes well, what food are you doing (being nosy as havent decided what to do for E's party)

UD - house looks great, wish there were more pictures do you have any idea when you'll hear from the agents?

Rgee - you are such a busy bee always popping here an dthere visiting with Pippa. Did you have a dominos?

Vin - if Ellen needs tiny knickers mothercare and boots do 12-18 and 18-24months

Laughalot - dont worry about L, Ellie was slow and was gone 2 before talking 'properly' and coherently. Have you heard from DH yet (in fact when I can be arsed to go and get my phone I'll text you!)

theSuburbanDryad · 10/08/2008 10:17

Agents said we'd hear from them tomorrow. Ali's going to look at the house again this morning so he can look at things like insulation, and boilers, and other manly things. We tried to get the HIP yesterday but there isn't one apparently as it's not been on the market long enough - it only went on on Thursday!

Just copy & pasted that list into 'word' so I can print and copy exactly be guided by

UD - how exciting we sold our last house years ago, but being a control freak organised person, I typed up a sheet of basic info for potential purchasers ie council tax band/payment, info about parking permits (was a nightmare street to park on), copy of invoice to show we'd had a new boiler/radiators etc fitted, copy of survey we'd paid for when we bought it (we only lived there 2 years) etc etc must have worked as we went on market Tuesday afternoon had 7 viewings between WEdnesday & Friday and aturday morning had 3 offers for asking price!!!!!

eandh · 10/08/2008 11:45

PCF - pmsl at obligitory salad items noone will eat (so so true) except at Ellies party one little boy is coming who has lots of allergies so I asked his Mum to let me know what I could get for him (wanted to make sure I could provide food for him) and she said it was just easier to make him a plate of food and bring it but he could have carrot/cucumber sticks etc so better do those and have managed to find some cake that he can have (in the health food shop and checked with his mum and all ingredients fine) so will need to get that so he can have cake after lunch plus put some in his party bag

he also has another little mate is muslim so need to make sure he doesnt touch the sausage rolls/ham sandwiches/pork based stuff (my Auntie is coming so may make that her job

theSuburbanDryad · 10/08/2008 12:07

EAH - you are like the hostess with the mostest!!

vinorouge · 10/08/2008 14:56

DH has gone out to play golf, he wanted to stay at home with me cos I am feeling a bit down but tbh I'd rather he was out. He did make me promise to only go to bed if I was tired rather than just cos I felt fed up. Not really sure whats up, just stressing and worrying about things.Part of me just wants to flop down and cry but don;t think it would make me feel any better. We went to try and choose me new glasses and I felt indecisive, then the pair I think I like are A LOT more £ than I wanted to spend so need to think about it and search online to see if I can find them cheaper. Got a bottle of wine and a nice meal planned for later so DH and I can have nice time together then.

Shimmer/Rgee I'll email you about meeting up.

Rgee - glad you had a good time with your friend.

PCF - party fod sounds yummy! Yesterday I went for afternoon tea with some friends and ate sandwiches, scones jam and clotted cream, an eclair, yummy M&S choc cake, lemon muffins and french fancies. All washed down with a mix of normal and earl grey tea (1 bag of each in the pot - v nice). Then I went to another freinds lastn ight and ate picky nibbles so no proper tea.

UD - fingers crossed for the house.

E&H you arw v orgnaised re food requirements but would we expect any less?

Going over to my mums on the train tomorrow wth S. E is already there and so is my brother. He is going to drive us back later and is then staying with me for the week.

laughalot · 10/08/2008 16:46

Vino give yourself a bit of a break you have two young babies too look after and its blimmin hard work at times. A good cry sometimes does me the world of good. Nice idea for you and dh tonight with the meal enjoy it and enjoy each other. It gets easier I promise xx

eandh · 10/08/2008 17:38

Vin - echo laughalots wise words

theSuburbanDryad · 10/08/2008 17:42

Vino - what specs did you like? I'll help you choose some new frames!!

Or you could take Wilkie along with you - she used to work in VE!

vinorouge · 10/08/2008 19:17

I liked a pair of guess frames the lady in d&h helped me choose. She was very patient but I had no idea it was so much pricier than specsavers (where I get my lenses and previous glasses from). It would be £289 there! She did give me a £50 off voucher but it still seems a lot. DH is happy for me to get them if I am sure they are the ones I want but I'm nerbous about spending that much on glasses. Have found the frames cheaper online here I would have brown not black though. Now I've got home I'm not sure about the name on the side of the frame.I want reactor light lenses this time as haven't really worn my prescription sunglasses.

I snoozed on the sofa earlier watching the olympics and have since done the ironing and a bit of tidying up so feeling brighter than earlier on. DH went out to play 9 holes but it changed to 18 so he's not home yet.

Rgee - forgot to say I went to tropical world last week and had no idea it would be so HOT inside! Got E's feet measured on the way home and her shoes are fine for another 3-4 weeks. Yay! That means this pair will have lasted 3 months like the last ones.

Reggiee · 10/08/2008 20:35

HI Vino. Glad you're a little better this evening. Two kids under 2 must be soooo knackering. I remember I felt the worse when lo was about 6 weeks, and the happy hormones from birth just left me.
Tropical World was very tropical last time I was there - and there were millions of butterflies too!

Got new shoes today too, and she's now a 5. She was in here last pair for ages.
After all this potty talk, we got her a potty too!! She picked one out in the shop, sat on it, and said wee wee much to the amusement of the couple also in the area. Checked out some beds but didn't buy.

PCF hope today went well. Reading your list made me remember I have chocolate fingers in the cupboard that I might just go and rescue.

Eah didn't have a dominos as their website was down last night (we order on line to take advantage of a 25% off discount code). Had another local pizza takeaway instead.
Agree always seem to be doing something. Is sooo tiring at times though and all I want to do is slob in pj's on the sofa. Am wondering about a quick trip to Maidstone soon .

Just spent the last hour clearing out one of our spare rooms that is having the ceiling plastered this week. Such a pita. Had to unscrew and move beds, wardbobes, desks etc. Got to do the same tomorrow night with everything in the lounge. Yawn.

DH is currently doing aerobics in front of me . He has borrowed WiiFit...Am pmsl though as he just made me get on, and my 'fit' age is 5 years younger than I actually am, whereas his is 10 years older. He runs marathons ffs whereas I just sit on my ar$e.

theSuburbanDryad · 10/08/2008 20:47

I like those frames Vino! The only thing I would say is that Transitions lenses don't work very well in supra (half rimmed) frames as the lenses look a little odd when they're reacted. But those frames are fab!

See if you can find out whether the D&A you're at is a franchise - they can often be more flexible on price than a group branch. Failing that, I think you should come and visit me and I'll do you a good deal!

eandh · 10/08/2008 20:52

rgee - if you ever fancied a trip more than welcome! (make it 6th september and you are more than welcome to come to princess and superhero party! Dressing up opional )

vinorouge · 10/08/2008 21:06

E&H be careful or else you'll have the Jan 07 MNners at the party rather than waiting for Lizz's wedding! I was looking at the map today as going to Chesham at end Aug and realised its near Tring so I can visit the bloke I have been working with. Also planning to visit a friend in Rainham and I had no idea where that was but its on the same page of map as Crawley where my brother lives so m ay combine with seeing him, so could also try to see Lizz so I get a seaside fix, do you live in similar area?

UD - ta for advice re transitions. Turns out the mate DH was playing golf with today has bought specs from thqat website before. THere was another frame that was a full frame with a flower pattern on the arm, maybe they woul dbe better option.

Chilling with DH now so switching off. Our prawn spaghetti was delish

theSuburbanDryad · 10/08/2008 21:07

Vino!! I live in Chesham!

eandh · 10/08/2008 21:08

Theres a Rainham in Kent (postcode ME) if thats the same one it is very very close to me!!!

Of course you are all invited to the party (Hattie would love having LO's her age there!)

eandh · 10/08/2008 21:09

Oh and I live around 60-90mins from LTH/Lizz but could drive there for a day trip!

Dragonhart · 10/08/2008 22:13

Vino- Me and DH get our contact lenses posted by D&A and it means we get half price glasses (frames and lenses). Not sure if you use contacts but if you do, might be worth looking into. Makes their glasses much cheaper than most places. DH has quite bad eye sight so has to get those nikon lenses that are thinner and they cost a fortune. Half price makes it affordable!

Also, I felt exactly the same after having Ruth, especially after DH had settled back into his normal life. It is really hard having 2 so young as they are both so dependant on you and I sometimes felt there was no time left for me. You are doing really well though and as laughalot says, a good cry does the world of good. Hope you feel better soon. xxx

Urban- House looks good. All very exciting!

Pink- Hope party went well.

Laughalot- Luke was slow to start talking, but when he got going, he wouldnt stop. At his 2y check, he was refered to speach therapist, but by the time he got the appt they said his language was good. Ruth seems to be the same and can understand everything I am saying but grunts and points more than actual words. Except ofcourse 'no!' and 'mummy' over and over . I think often people say that their children are saying 'words' but only they understand them, not strangers or people that dont know them well. Oh and second time round hasnt stopped me worrying about every little thing!

EAH- Hope E & H were good at the christening.

Sorry, cant think of anything else so hope you are all well. Can I blame my preg brain again!

I have got to that stage where I really want to just have this baby as I feel so uncomfortable but at the same time, crapping myself about having 3!

2Happy · 11/08/2008 18:37

2H in her glasses

eandh · 11/08/2008 19:39

Oh my God 2happy you cannot waltz back onto thread and not say where you've been - we misssssed youuuuuu

Reggiee · 11/08/2008 19:51

2H obviously couldn't see us until she got her glasses. Welcome back

2Happy · 11/08/2008 20:25

Oh g'waaannn, you guys!

Where was I? RL, shockingly enough. Didn't like it, had to run back to here, tis much nicer place to be.

So.....what have I missed? Not DH's baby yet, clearly

Reggiee · 11/08/2008 20:48

Real life?? What's that again?

2Happy · 11/08/2008 20:50

Um, dunno really, the memory is fading with every MN post...
