Eah thinking about you ythis morning.

eandh · 29/09/2008 09:27

Awww thanks guys you mad eme feel all warm and fuzzy!

Well update is I work for Santander/Abbey now and not B&B anymore !! Looks quite positive for me as branch staff as they have said the B&B brand will remain so fingers crossed (also looks like they'll transfer length of service and exisiting employment packages over which is great news for me as I have an old style final salary pension which they pay all my contributions and I also have BUPA free as it was a 'loyalty' perk when you reached 10 yeras service with B&B) Feeling alot more relived today although had applied for 2 fab jobs yesterday one working for Kent county council and another for NHS I am going to leave those applications and see what happens as they are same/better pay as I get here and wouldn't hurt to explore other avenues

ladytophamhatt · 29/09/2008 09:40

Thats good news eah.
I thought maybe your branch would be ok because I remeber from yonks ago you saying that it was always top earner or something, and that they were trying to put your bonus on anoither branch to even it out....anyway it seems I was right

Glad its all ok anyway.

Bloody knackered today, dh was up a 3:50 for work, I didn't get back to sleep so was awake ages, G woke up at 5:30 then my alarm was set for 6:20am to get up and everyone organised before my little mindee arrived.

Have shit loads to do today too.

Shimmer · 29/09/2008 12:53

Hi all. Glad work sounds like it should be okay eah.

(Oh how annoying i've JUST changed F's nappy and now he's doing a poo! I'm sure he does it on purpose...)

Saw your pics of Disney on FB eah, it looks fab! I can't wait until F's a bit older so we can take him!

Lizz you make working at Mothercare sound hilarious! I think working in retail you really get to see how odd most people are!!

Feeling a bit sorry for myself today as I have a stinking cold and am feeling a bit bored and a bit ill. Cheering myself up with the thought that this is my last week at work though!! Only 3 more days to go and then I'm done and we have all of October to sort out taking over the shop and moving down to Lewes!

Lizzzombie · 29/09/2008 13:23

EAh - Phew! You must be so relieved. That is good news for you.

Shimmer - I am SO excited to have you down here (its only 20 mins or so away from me). I can't wait to see your little shop. You are going to have so much fun with the christmas decor!

Lth - am busy this week, but free all next week. Will email you.

My Mum is coming tomorrow, and I am in the process of tidying/cleaning/decluttering the house. I'm knackered! I am babysitting for a mate tonight and taking about 3 loads of ironing round to hers to plough through. Great!

Ps - Shimmer - Working in retail (especially a shop which is continually full of strange people) makes you realise how normal you are!

We have soooo many odd customers.

  1. There is the woman who comes in with a manky baby doll (hanging out of a back pack) and spends a fortune on clothes for her.
  2. The fat woman who spends ages and ages trying on maternity clothes and looking like she is shop lifting and never buys anything, but comes in at least once a week.
  3. A strange hyper man who comes in to buy Milton sterilising liquid - I am sure he must drink the stuff.
  4. Various old ladies who buy up tons of disposable pants and nappy liners - I don't even want to think about why.
  5. Doolally dog owners who want fluffy baby blankets and matresses for their pets.....

...they are all bonkers! I am not sure if its just Eastbourne that has an especially high population of weirdos???
