rain rain rain.
its chucking down outside. I got DP to put bike seat back on my bike last night, but I'm not going out in this weather!
I just want to lie on the sofa in my pyjamas. Bleurgh!

good luck with your job Wilkie, hope everyone is lovely there - nice to see you back on FB too!
DH - sooooooooo excited for you. Can't wait to hear about your new arrival.

Right, need to clean up yet another meal which has been thrown upside down with out a bite being taken. I have no idea what DJ is surviving on at the moment, but its definately not food!

vinorouge · 18/08/2008 08:08

Yeah Wilkie hope today as the 'new girl' goes ok!

Lizz - am impressed with the sound of bike seat for DJ. It will be sunny one day!

Raining here too. Had thought I might get my hair cut today but can't be bothered to go out in the rain. If it stops later I'll take S for a walk. E is at my mums so I can have a chilled out time, pottering really.

theSuburbanDryad · 18/08/2008 08:44

Raining here too - just sent Z off to nursery in his wellies and anorak as i know they had a trip to the park planned for today. Whether they go or not I don't know! Z absolutely loves being out in the rain - strange child!

Just trying to get in touch with my dr's surgery, to see if they can see me this morning as I can't stop being sick! Having a really miserable pregnancy this time round, it was nothing like this with Z. I've actually lost a stone since I got pg and my milk is practically gone - I need to keep some nutrients in as obviously my body is prioritising the baby rather than Z. I know he doesn't need bm nutritionally but I don't want to wean him yet as he still gets so much comfort from bf-ing. He doesn't drink cow's milk yet either, although he'll happily have it on his cereal. Do any of you use follow-on milk? I was wondering if Z would take that instead as it's sweeter than cow's milk.

Wilkie - hope you have a good day at work. I'm sure I'll be looking for a new job soon, I've had so much time off sick my boss must e getting seriously pissed off with me!

eandh · 18/08/2008 09:23

UD - no advice about follow on milk I am afraid (H been on cows milk since Dec) sorry to hear you are feeling rubbish, how many weeks are you now?

Lizz - stay at home in your pj's and snuggle up on sofa with a duvet (altough if anyone asks you were making a den for DJ to play in )

Vino - enjoy pottering hope S is sleepy so you can relax!

It still raining and my hair looks shite now although am hidden in my office so noone sees me anyway, I suppose I better go and do some work

theSuburbanDryad · 18/08/2008 09:26

No idea how many weeks, but about 3-4 months i think. maybe about 13 or 14 weeks?

Dc2 is really not going to be a PSB, is it?

eandh · 18/08/2008 09:50

hopefully sickness should start wearing off soon (although sil was sick everyday of her 1st pg and then had ds early at 37 weeks and carried on being sick daily until he was exactly 3 weeks old ie his due date )

Hattie is so not my spb I have to think how old she is and actually work it out if people ask me I always just 'knew' with E

2Happy · 18/08/2008 10:49

UD - it's really tough. As you know, ds1 self-weaned when I was pg with ds2. I had a much harder pg 2nd time round, and was told bfeeding makes morning sickness worse - so maybe there's at least a reason why you're feeling terrible, even if it's not a very helpful one! Hope you get in to see Dr today.

Lizzzombie · 18/08/2008 13:23

Ok, so its beautiful sunshine here now. Have been into town and brought a new iron (ugh!) and a booster step for DJ to try and get him up to the sink height as he is getting too heavy to lift up for teeth brushing etc. He is in love with it. Its got Thomas on it, and its his "choo choo box" he's been carrying round all morning and went ballistic at me when I wouldn't let him put it in his cot.

UD - sorry to hear you are feeling so pants. Is your BM too dried up to express any (even if its only for a few days) then you could mix a bit in with cows milk for Z. Does he ever drink ebm? It took me about 2 weeks to get DJ from formula (Aptimil stage 2 - the purple one) to cows milk. Gradually adding in 1oz extra every couple of days until he didn't realise any more. Although I do know a few people that have done it in one swoop. The baby was hungry and grumpy for a day or so, then realised it was cows milk or nothing so gave in. I guess if you go onto formula now (which is sweeter) you will have to wean onto cows milk anyway. DOes he drink formula at all atm?

I have got to find a way of making money more than my job. Am currently doing 3 different online survey sites and get approximately £5 every 2 months (woo hoo) but it all helps. I could do an extra shift at work on Sundays but it would seriously effect my social life and my relationship with DP. I have no time/energy to do another job in the evenings. Its only worth while doing my current job because half the hours are done on a Saturday so I don't have to pay childcare. Any other PT jobs I could do which would pay more would entail me putting DJ in nursery for another shift, which would cancel out any point in me doing it as thats where the money would go. I am stumped. The lottery is just not working for me at the moment!

eandh · 18/08/2008 19:43

whoops!!!

Lizz I have a team generator iron - I will never return to a normal iron ever again, it glides over clothes

Dragonhart · 18/08/2008 19:53

Lizz- Have you checked you are getting all the benefits you are entitled to? Might be worth looking into how much help you would get with childcare through tax credits to see if it was worth looking at jobs in the week? Or do you think that Lemon drizzle cakes would post? You could make a fortune just from the Jan thread!

Urban- Much, much sypathy with the MS . Can you keep anything down? I know they told me that the only thing that would help was anti sickness drugs but think they only give them to people with that hyper thingy morning sickness where they have to admit you into hospital. I found smoothees and soups helped as you can get quite a lot of nutrients into them but they are easy on the stomach. And not so horrible on the way back up! I mostly wanted to eat salty things.

Are you taking folic acid still? If you are, I took it just before I went to bed and that helped ALOT. Seemed to make the ms so much worse in the day.

I was so miserable this time with it all but when it did go, it was such a relief. I know it is no consolation and it drove me mad when everyone was saying it to me, but it really wont last.

Milk; What temp do you give Z the cow milk? Ruth wont drink cold milk out of the fridge but if I put it in the microwave so it is lukewarm, she glugs it. Might be worth tring to get it to body temp to see if that helps? My friend started giving her lo a biscuit with her milk to start with as it sort of sweetens the milk if they are eating them together.

EAH- Thanks. I wish you could come too!!! Mum is going to help me nex few days so I can just tell her what to do. Mums are the best!

Reggiee · 18/08/2008 20:18

Wilkie how did today go? Where are you? I want to know!

Lizz I would definitely purchaaase one of your Lemon Drizzle Cakes. Nom nom.
Are you crafty? (Thinking in terms of making cards rather than doing anything slightly underhand). What about childminding (says knowing nothing about any formal hoops you have to jump through to be one)?
You don't get paid for this, but I've just signed up to be a Boots tester

Dragon am so excited for you. Have you packed your hospital bag yet?

UD definitely a girl.

Eah pmsl about the noisy children. Hope you have recovered from the shock

Am about all the haircut talk. I have had mine cut erm...twice since lo was born . It is such a birds nest. On the list of jobs to do along with go to the doctors (I have total hearing loss in one ear since Friday - that really is not good); get the cats to the vets to have their teeth out; go for check up at dentist. The list is getting more and more urgent.

Dragonhart · 18/08/2008 20:28

Sorry Wilkie, missed that bit of your post. Hope it went well today too.

Rgee- I have only had mine cut 3 times since Ruth was born! Hope your ears are ok!

Lizzzombie · 18/08/2008 22:15

Rgee - I've only had my hair cut twice since LO came. When does anyone get time to have their hair cut? When DJ is at nursery I am at work. I took him along to 'watch' when I got my legs waxed once. Never again!

  • thanks for the Boots link. Will look into that.
Eah - LOL at noisy children! I got this iron. DP has just whizzed off a load of ironing so it seems to be working ok! DH - Not totally sure lemon drizzle cakes on a mass production would take off....I'd not be able to refrain from eating the profits! (yes, I am bigging up my own cake!)
Lizzzombie · 18/08/2008 22:20

rgee - www.onepoll.com/surveys/This is one of the survey sites I am on.

ladytophamhatt · 19/08/2008 08:16

I'll be on msn tonight with my super dull boring question.

sorry about all teh suspece

eandh · 19/08/2008 08:20

I'll be on tonight as dh going out to watch footie

2Happy · 19/08/2008 08:22

Lizz - I have started doing a few surveys too. Have you joined surveyclub.com? Seems pretty good so far. I hadn't heard of onepoll, though, thanks for the link.
Wilkie - how did your day go?
Reg - I've had my hair cut twice since ds2 was born too, except one of those times was by dh!! It needs cutting again, too. Need to sweettalk dh again (though maybe this time I'll remember he has no concept of "a couple of inches" and tell him to cut a cm off!!) Hope you get your ear sorted.
DH - I remember I got the tune off the Hastings Direct.com tv ads stuck in my head at the end og pg with ds2, it nearly drove me batty!!!! Must be a pg thing!
Not much on today, it's not actively raining ATM so may try and get for a run. Have just ordered Davina's exercise DVD off Amazon, I have to do something about my jelly belly!!

Wilkiepedia · 19/08/2008 10:08

Hola. Well it was a good day. Everyone so laid back, very different from the private sector. Think I am going to enjoy it. The girls in my office seem really lovely too. Cool. Shame was that I got a headache towards the end of the day which got really bad so went to bed early and still had it this morning. It has just gone now.

I have been tracking them and they seem to co-inside with ovulation and period - so guessing they are hormone related. Getting a bit down with them though

Sorry - I am so shit at personals but here goes:

EAH - we have a £5 Asda iron I hate ironing!!

DH - not long to go...exciting!

UD - haven't you had your dating scan yet?? MS is horrid, although I had it bad with J so I don't believe the myth of it being a girl. How are things with you and MrUD?

Gotta go, bloke doing survey for cavity wall insulation here, back later....god my life is one big party!!!!!!!!!!!!!

eandh · 19/08/2008 18:07

Roll on next 45 minutes they'll both be in bed !!

Wilkiepedia · 19/08/2008 19:58

Random fact of the day:

Just weighed J, he is 26lb 10oz. Anyone else weighed LOs recently? Can we compare? Just interested - I think he is quite weeny

OP posts:
eandh · 19/08/2008 20:04

LTH where are you Rgee and I are having a random msn convo waiting for your questions!

Wilkei I weighed both of mine the other wek (was curious as Hattie feels the same weight as Ellie)

Hattie was 1stone 12lbs (is that 26lb?)
Ellie was 2stone 7lb (average ish for age but because she is the height of a 5 years old she is all lean )

eandh · 19/08/2008 20:05

wilkie I tried adding you on my msn have you accepted?

Wilkiepedia · 19/08/2008 20:32
