Right I'm back!! Work is ok today and nearly over and only one day to go so thats all good!! Anabel has slept through the night for the last 2 nights which is awesome. She doesn't seem to like the sweet potato puree I made so it might be sweet potato soup for dinner tonight for us. She loves the apple and pear mix and the baby rice and the carrot. I'll try her with the sweet potato again in a few weeks.

DD is so cute we went to a wedding on the weekend and she charmed everyone with her smiles and giggles. We are going out for the night on friday and my friend is having her all night so I'm really looking forward to that. I've been expressing loads to have lots for her incase she wakes at night. My friend can't wait. She's just found out she's pregnant with her second so is looking forward to practising her baby skills again (her DS is 4).

I think thats all the news. Hugs to everyone and their babas xx

sam86 · 06/05/2008 15:38

hope your feeling better choc, rebecca sounds like shes well on her way into toddlerdom!! it is sad to see them grow up so quick tho!

lol i may get the argos buggy for r hol rather than wreck my new one (its still in the box waiting for my new car- i dont want to put it in dp's car coz the dog goes in that so its like santas grotto with loads of white fur!)!!

oo cant wait for hols (havent booked yet but hoping for a villa in june or early july!)! anyone have any tips for hols abroad with LO? i dont know whether to get one of them companys to deliver all the baby milk etc and just take a small amount or to buy extra baggage and take it all ourselves?!weve started going to a baby swimming group and she loves it! weve been so worried shed be too cold or scream but she is brilliant there.

raimee doesnt seem to like the carrot at the moment tho she loves baby rice! no teeth or sitting up witout support here yet tho - but she has changed into a v grumpy baby in late evening in the last few days so maybe teeth arent far off.

rg- the chinese and curry sound like they were worth it to me! weve got apple n cream sponge cake for later yum!

xx

Hi all. Hope you are enjoying the sunshine.

Loopy - I'm teetering on the brink of buying a patapan instead of a buggy. I saw someone with a ergo and it looked fab. I'm slightly concerned as my back is dodgy but it looks pretty supportive.
Hey my cousin is getting married in Exeter in October, maybe we could meet up ?

RG _ You truely are a are a love. I'll e-mail you in a sec.

Febes - pic of the wedding please !

Well we had a fab time with our friends in London. T was an absolute star.I feel like I've been away for a fortnight.

Tried T on a jar of baby food today after 5oz of formula and he wolfed 3/4 of it then tried grabbing my food as I was eating. he is def ready for weaning

ChocolateHobnob · 06/05/2008 17:44

RG, I wouldnt dare join WW, I am eating like a horse... well done you!

LOM, can't believe Thomas is so hungry! I'm going to start DD this weekend, when she will be nearly 26 weeks. I can't believe I've held out!

Febes, come on, are you pregnant? tell us!!!

Good luck without hubby, Loopy!

Sam, Raimee sounds like she's doing v well... swimming is fun!

Lovely weather today so went for a walk, didnt have sun cream or parasol for DD... bad mummy alert...

Evening all
Loopy thanks for the advice re slings, will look into it. DS is a biiiggg baby and I just assumed he would need something with scaffolding so I will be chuffed if we can get a soft sling.

RG - Adam appeared to be teething months ago but then nothing until almost overnight these 2 popped through! Proper little vampire he is now. Also appears to be going through a growth spurt at the mo so v.hungry/sleepy/grumpy, poor thing. And he rolled over for the first time last night. It is all go here, amazing how many changes they go through in such a short time, no wonder he has been a bit arsey!

LOM - lol re T, I gave DS a bit of natural yoghurt on the end of my finger today because he was being so nosey and his face was a picture (not impressed!). I have a freebie jar of apple baby food in the cupboard, will have to try him with that tomorrow.

Hasn't the weather been gorgeous?! Having a garden is still a novelty for me so I have been mowing the lawn and tending to my (vv.small) flowerbed today! Adam seems to love being outside in his bouncy chair although I am paranoid about sunburn so he was in the shade, lathered in suncream with a hat (then a jumper because I decided he was cold). I am not a relaxed mum at all, I am pretty chilled otherwise so has been a surprise to me. Poor Adam.

Loopy - I've ordered a patapum. It'll be smaller and more convienient than a buggy and easy to carry around when he's walking if he gets tired. We're off for a week in the lakes soon so we'll try it then. We'll probably still end up getting a framed one for hiking though. Well done on your bed-timing!!

Hi Sam. good to hear from you again.

Choc - glad you enjoyed the sun. Don't worry about the bad mummy bit. My Aunt is an Hv and told me that she had to suggest to someone that perhaps she shouldn't be feeding her eight month old onto pot noodles. It's all relative.

sarah - Great that you like the gardening. Can you come and do ours please

ChocolateHobnob · 07/05/2008 08:22

Quick question on slings!

I have a Hugabub at the mo and loved it until a month or so ago - it faced inwards till she was about 4 months then I faced her outwards, but now it's heavy with her outwards and she doesnt want to go inwards! I just googled patapum and they have to face in too. Is that normal for slings?

littleoldme · 07/05/2008 09:13

Choc- I know what you mean. We've got a baby bjorn which DS will go in face forwards if Dh is carrying him. I find that if he's facing out he leans out too much and it hurts my back and shoulders. Whereas if he faces me he snuggles in more nd it is easier. There's loads on the links that Loopy put in.

Off to my Mum's today to talk life insurance and pensions with my step-dad - he's financial adviser. The things you have to organise with Lo's around.
X

sarahloumadam · 07/05/2008 10:17

Hmm LOM I won't get carried away and volunteer just yet as my garden is tiny and I kill all house plants so I fear for my flowers.

Choc - didn't see your bad mummy alert till just now so wasn't trying to be clever when I talked about lathering Adam in suncream!
