LOL cosima, am v soppy but i think dh is worse, he keeps looking at ds and welling up all the time!

Found dd1, just as RAC did. They had called the police too because of her being young girl on her own. She got in a bit of a tiz but calmed down eventually. She was going to buy a new car anyway with her tax rebate but the clutch has gone so it's probably not worth repairing (car's only wotrth about £300.00) which is a shame 'cos dd2 was going to use it to practice in for a while until she can get a car of her own. Dd1 has gone out and blown her student loan on a car this morning! Am sure thats not what it for!

Glad the meet up went well! Hopefully we can have one somewhere here soon (egg what do you think?).

Have to go shopping, don't want to go but dd2 having some friends roung for a bbq so have to and get some stuff feel a bit flat to day, don't know why.

HAve a good weekend one an' all

Egg · 09/05/2008 15:39

Ginger hope you are perking up a bit now, it is nearly the weekend! I had some visitors today for a few hours and it was lovely, I have realised it is the way forward as they all help to keep DS1 happy and stop babies crying etc. Perfect.

I would really really love to do a meet up. I am a bit limited as would only want to do it on a Thursday... as I would WANT to bring DTs but not DS1 as well as too much stress involved. Would actually be happy to do a Monday as well without any DCs at all, but I guess that defeats the purpose of meeting up as you would prob want to see them! I just can't quite face trying to look after DS1 as well as DTs, plus we have the buggy issue etc.

Who else is based in the South?

Egg · 09/05/2008 15:44

Tyaca v impressed the swaddling worked so well! My two are sleeping in sleeping bags that are only done up at the shoulders and left unzipped as it is so bloody hot in their room, they both like to sleep with their arms above their heads. DS2 has now done over a week of going from 6/6:30pm to 6/6:30am without feeding (although once was 5:30am), but he does wake up most nights and cry for a couple of mins and occasionally need winding at 4am! DD seems a bit happier on her new milk, but has not pooed since Weds evening which is the longest she has ever gone. She is taking it better now though, taking less time and drinking 120/130ml, hoping to get her up to 150ml as she gets more used to new milk.

For those of you using bottles, are you still on No 2 teats, or anyone on No 3 (fast flow). I have got some fast ones now, but scared to use them as DS1 hated them and thought he was drowning, but DS2 takes ages drinking his bottle and I think he would do better with a faster one.

tyaca · 09/05/2008 18:11

depending on where you met, i could be considered as south - am only fifteen min from clapham junction which takes you to just about anywhere.

egg - i love that arms sleeping above head thing. its so sweet and means proper deep sleep ;-) BUT i am now addicted to the swaddle. did it for one of her naps today and she SLEPT FOR TWO AND A HALF HOURS. really, i think her arms are her own worst enemy and keeping them pinned down is the future... tho it does all feel a bit straight-jackety.

ginger - i believe its compulsory to blow student loan on cars etc . glad your dd ok and hope your day has picked up

cosima - lol, yup, dd gets soooo much attention. i am proper pfb

mitfordsisters · 10/05/2008 08:59

talking of hoovering (or lack thereof), I haven't picked up the hoover since December. DH is obsessed with banishing cat hair, so I leave him to it.

Egg, at breaking down in fast lane of M1 - scary. The day I passed my test, I set out to go to Basingstoke to see a friend and ended up halfway to Southampton on the M3. I eventually managed to stop at a service station and remember thinking I would never get home and would have to abandon the car there.

re. utter soppiness. I'm the same way with ds, who is currently baring his little pigeon chest due to the hot weather. Can't get enough of his little antics!

Right, going to listen to Adam and Joe on 6 Music. They are very funny.

sarahmikeharryandrosie · 10/05/2008 09:27

hi all,

Glad to hear all is well in this heat!!! DD a little off her milk but other than that ok!!!

Re swaddling- i have swaddled DD since day 1 and she has been seeping thru from 7/8pm to 7/8am with a dream feed at 10 from about 7weeks ish( odd night we have been up with her) so i do think it works, we find her arms wake her if they are left out!!!lol

Would love a meetup but i am in the midlands so wont be joining you ladies, !!!!!

leesmum · 10/05/2008 09:35

hi ladies just a quickie, glad to hear you are all ok and enjoying the sunshine.

Ds1 has been poorly this week, he threw up on wed night and it went everywhere, it seemed to help a bit strangely enough, and Ds2 is all bunged up, so we havent had the best week but they both seem better now

i have cheered up a bit since mon (thanks for worrying about me rozzy ) i was just having one of them days and generally feeling sorry for myself.

take care everyone xxx

gingermumi · 10/05/2008 12:22

mitford looks like you are a southerner too, do you still live in the area? what do you think of a meet up? thursdays are good for me too.

mitfordsisters · 10/05/2008 18:58

hi gingermumi, I used to live in Reading, but not since I was a teen. Must have been empathising following talk of a southern meet up. I could come along depending on dates and location. Where would you suggest? Have you found your mojo again?

rozzyraspberry · 10/05/2008 20:02

Hi everyone.

Glad you're feeling brighter leesmum! Hope you are too ginger. I've been having quite a few low days lately too but have been better these last few days. DS1 and ds2 have been particularly good which helps - although I did have to go through to ds1 room at 5.45am today to send them back to bed - they were getting themselves dressed

Glad the swaddling is working for you tyaca - wouldn't work for me - ds3 would be inconsolable if he couldn't suck his thumb!!

Take care all.

omy · 10/05/2008 20:42

Hi all, LO is puking up each feed since last night - she must have a tummy bug - so far she is still smiling and chirpy though - and some must be staying down as she has done something in her nappy - but so much less than normal.
Luckily she is a fatty so she has some reserves! Worried about dehydration though!

OP posts:
omy · 10/05/2008 20:44

Cosima - yes much soppier! I think it is because they get more responsive and attached to us as they get older. I could gaze and smile goofily at her all day!!

OP posts:
omy · 10/05/2008 22:06

Just rang NHS direct as now getting worried - she threw up her 8pm feed in her sleep - poor thing - now sleeping with an empty tummy

OP posts:
tyaca · 10/05/2008 22:20

just checking in to say hope all is ok omy. what did nhs say?? sure its all ok if she's happy and sleeping but so good to check

rozzyraspberry · 11/05/2008 09:16

How's lo today omy? You do have to be careful with babies as they can get dehydrated really quickly so it's a good thing you got in touch with NHS 24. Let us know how she's doing.

leesmum · 11/05/2008 09:18

omy how is lo today? is she any better? what did NHS say? xxx

leesmum · 11/05/2008 09:19

morning rozzy

rozzyraspberry · 11/05/2008 09:28

Hi Leesmum - just sneaking on the computer quickly before I take dc out for a walk. DH is working all day so NEED to get out of house.

Have a nice day!!

alkar · 11/05/2008 19:35

Any news omy?

Not been on here all week, have been enjoying the sunshine and doing loads of shopping for things for the new extention. Builders are still here its not been too bad yet but they are going to knock through next week which I'm not looking forward to.

DS is doing loads of new things this week. He is now pushing himself up on his hands when he is on his front and having a good nosey around. My little sister stayed over last night and he was pushing buttons on her mobile and managed to send his first text! He also seems to be teething poor thing.

Took my other sister to the airport today, she is off to vegas for a girly holiday to celebrate their 30ths I'm very

Going to try my first buggyfit class tomorrow but only if its not raining

I can't rmember who was talking about washable wipes?? How do you make up your wipe solution?

Gill79 · 11/05/2008 22:31

Jumping the gun a bit but lost another two pounds apparently and am sure it'll be back on by tomorrow morning!

Colds all better and managed a day away climbing yesterday which was great - DP looking after DS at the bottom of the cliff!

Off to my parents for a couple of nighs tomorrow - will be our first night away from DP. Looking forward to it as hopefuly will be a bit of a break from house and garden duties!

Omy - hope LO has stopped being sick and is doing ok.

Gill v impressed with climbing day and going away without DP! I had two nights at home without DH and DS1 at Easter and had my parents here, so kind of the same, except easier for me as I didn't have to pack everything but the kitchen sink into the car and drive anywhere! By this age with DS1 we had stayed at inlaws twice for a few nights, and overnight at my parents too, but have been nowhere with DTs (they have not been in car since they came home from hospital FOUR MONTHS AGO).

DS1 is loving the weather and running around like a madman. He has been walking a lot which is good, although I would just not be happy going into town with him walking in case he runs off, or refuses to walk. We tried out the buggypod this weekend which is great and he loves it, but it makes pushing a double buggy plus DS1 almost impossible as it is so heavy with him on board too, plus leans to one side with danger of tipping when going round corners. OK if DH is with us too but scary if I am alone.

Rozzy LOL at your DS1 and 2 getting themselves dressed at 5:45am! We had a very lucky weekend of all DCs sleeping til after 8 (obv babies had fed earlier and gone back to sleep), but DS1 was up at 7:15 today and had done a poo while in bed!

DD seems to finally be eating better now on the new formula. She is usually having at least 120ml and often 150ml. We have moved her onto No 3 teats as the formula is thicker, and she drinks faster and drinks more - hurrah! She didn't wake up at all til 5:30am which is v good for her these days (DH did feed her at 10pm).

Right, tons to do so must turn off computer again now I have caught up with news.

Egg · 12/05/2008 09:43

Alkar - v impressed with LO using mobile! So cute!

beansprout · 12/05/2008 10:09

Hi everyone,

Feel like I have been away for ages!! Dh is finally better so life has returned to normal and I can MN again!! Hurrah!!

Omy - how is lo today?

Morning glory - I know it's ages ago now but just wanted to say re your swimming pool incident that I think that woman who made the comment is a cow. You just had one of those moments when both kids needed you, it was just one of those things and no reflection on your parenting! Why are people so undermining? What about "are you ok, anything I can do?" as a comment? Why couldn't she have said that?!!

Alkar - I have now assumed the crash brace position as I await the onset of teething....

Gill - well done on the weight loss!!!

I think I have just weathered the 16 week growth spurt. Had 2 hourly waking all weekend and the titch had a monster appetite. But we got through it.... He is currently fascinated by his own hands and feet and running through his current repertoire of noises. < adoring mummy sigh>

Hi to everyone else!

Egg · 12/05/2008 10:15

Hello Beany! The DTs have got some great new noises too. DS2 likes to say "oon gah" a lot, while DD prefers to repeat "ooooh ooooh" over and over while smiling sweetly. She also smiles when she sees the camera now! Must try to download some new pics.

I too am dreading the teething. I keep thinking it's not that bad, and then I remember. We went on hols when DS1 was 8 months old and it was when you couldn't take any liquids on and I was begging them to let me take DS1's Anbesol for his teeth or else he would scream and scream. Strangely I can't remember what happened, if we were allowed it or not, but he didn't scream. I am really dreading TWO teething babies at once.

tyaca · 12/05/2008 10:44

is teething that bad? when does it happen and for how long?

good to have you back bean, what was wrong with your dh? tonisilitis? is he back at work from today? much as i love weekends, there's something nice about the order than returns on a monday when its just me and LO.

gill, that must have been v nice to get climbing on such a lovely day. also good to start doing regular stuff again - feels like life not going to be on baby-hold forever. one of our best mates was in london this weekend and we spent sat afternoon in pub garden. felt FAB. and v wd on the 2lb.

well, weighed myself yesterday and for the third week in a row i havent lost a pound. went to the gym five times last week and still eating v sensibly. going to stop weighing myself i think - really not making me feel any better.

enjoy the sunshine guys
