LOL at 5 boobs .

Hope Beany is ok [worry].

DS2 is sleeping through ok for now and DD def not ready for weaning. She is only 10lbs 7 or something similar and can't even digest milk properly at the mo . Think anything else would not help the poor little thing.

They are both sleeping at mo so I quickly got my tesco order done. Left it a bit late so couldn't get the slot I wanted but still will have food by 11am tomorrow - hurrah!

omy · 15/05/2008 16:22

Hi egg - I just checked out your pics - your DD looks fat and healthy! Funny though - your DS looks a bit like Leila!

I hope Bean and son are OK.

5boobsginger! Could be a good name!

She does indeed have a chubby little face / arms legs etc, just all in miniature .

It's funny, I think that your DD looks a bit like my DD in a couple of the pics, and then there is one where she looks like my DS2!

omy · 15/05/2008 16:35

Its the nice fat cheeks!!

Sometimes I get so depressed about the world - china, burma, zimbabwe, global warming etc - and I wonder what I am doing bringing another child into all this - then I go to yoga and it all seems fine......why is that?

Sorry random post!! On a lighter note (ha ha!) I weighed myself at the gym today and I have def lost weight - I think I have lost half a kilo but I don't know if their scales are accurate. Usually losing weight is a trigger for me to eat more to redress the balance - but this communal target thing really works - I don't want to have to admit next week that I am back square one!!!

Gosh Omy you have been busy . Well done on weight loss. I am definitely finding the fact that I have people to TELL about my weight loss is spurring me on (now that I am actually making a bit of effort).

As for the yoga, I think that is what it's supposed to do... mellow you out and relax you . I have never been mind you .

Hope Beany is ok .

lljkk · 15/05/2008 18:54

Sorry to hear about your worries, Beansprout.

I just mostly popped in to boast, please humour me. DS4 is rolling over!! Woohoo, not always, but he can go both ways (tum to back or back to tum). 3 months today, so the earliest I've had a baby do this.

Got DS4 weighed yesterday, he's 12 lbs and sumwat. People are still commenting on how 'petite' he is, kind of grates on my nerves. Is this sexist? DD was called 'petite', too, but she's a girl...

I am not thinking much about my weight, although my thighs look fatter than pre-pregnancy. I am trying to find ways to get some exercise.

Loud nappy explosions nearby are beckoning me...

sarahmikeharryandrosie · 15/05/2008 19:35

wow lljkk- that very clever to be rolling both ways at 3months- you must be so proud!!!!

gingermumi · 15/05/2008 20:10

Egg, maybe your LOs are just small, like toby is just large. My family and dh's both have several men over 6foot so he didnt really stand a chance. You look petite (soz ll!) so perhaps they will be small too. Do you think dd could be allergic to cows milk? Do they still make soy milk for babies, not sure what the alternatives are.

lljkk i get fed up when people think ds is 6 months old, it was the same when i was pregant, they'd ask if i was due any day and i still had months to go! Poeple are so insensitive! We're all unique and that all there is to it, some big, some small etc! My friends sister gave birth the day after me, her ds was full term (not a early like my ds and weighing in at 7lb 15oz) and he weighed just over 4lb.

Hope bean ok

beansprout · 15/05/2008 20:10

Back now. They are not too concerned about ds1, saying his glands are "inflamed" rather than "suspicious". Still have to have tests but told us not to worry. Has been recommended that his tonsils and adenoids are taken out which we need to think about. Ideally, don't want him undergoing surgery but need to consider the balance of all things. He has obstructive sleep apnea and this will resolve that.

I am not feeling at all well which dh thinks is a reaction to everything but could also be his tonsilitis from last week. Am very relieved about ds1 though, so don't care too much about anything else.

Thanks for all your concern and support. Am going to snuggle up with dh now and talk about how brilliant our boys are.

tyaca · 15/05/2008 20:35

what a relief, enjoy your sofa time. hopefully a good (hah ) nights sleep will go part of the way to feeling better. have a good evening x

bean thats great news, so glad you can stop worrying a little, you dh must be so releived too- have good snuggle xxx

rozzyraspberry · 15/05/2008 21:55

So relieved for you bean. I suspect being under strain like that will knock your immune system about and make it more susceptible to things like the tonsilitis - perhaps you have been coming down with it since the w/end though and that's why you've been finding things harder to cope with than usual? Anyhow take care of yourself and your lovely boys!

omy · 15/05/2008 23:07

That's great news Bean - what a relief!

Just had another row with DH re how to put LO to sleep - we seem to be arguing a lot recently - he thinks it is not fair that I think I know best about every aspect of LOs life. Am I being unreasonable??? He likes to watch TV while bouncing LO to sleep on the bouncy ball and I say it's not good for her to have the lights of the TV in her eyes while she is trying to go to sleep! Also I have been trying to train her to go to sleep in her cot which she does quite well - but she is confused as sometimes she gets 'bounced' to sleep in front of the TV!!!!

OP posts:
sallyforth · 16/05/2008 00:24

oh beany I can't imagine what you've been going through - how horrible. so glad the doctors have been able to be reassuring.

sarah so sorry to hear of your dh redundancy. hope he finds an even better job very soon! in the meantime I guess you will have a bit of extra help round the house at least.

omy, we have rows like that all the time. my view is, if dh wants to stay home and care for LO 24/7 while I work all hours, then he might have a better chance of being right - it's a sinple matter of which parent has spent more hours with the baby and at the moment that is me!

needless to say dh does not entirely share my opinion here...

ginger - has weaning helped with the feeding all the time thing? and how old was your ds when you started weaning?

my LO had his 2nd set of jabs today. the worst thing is that they give 2 needles. the first time, ds yelled out once as if to say "hey! that hurt! still, I expect it was an accident so no hard feelings eh" but the second time he went bright red and SCREAMED as if to say "HEY! I just told you not to do that! Now I KNOW you did it on purpose! You are so mean!"

In other news, I am only(!) 74kg now. still can't fit into any of my pre preg jeans and am wondering if I ever will!

Really pleased for you bean, hope you aren't coming down with anything.

Hope the job situation is sorted soon sarah

I think DS is ready for weaning. He is just 15 weeks old and has been sleeping through for 5 weeks but the last 4 nights he has woken up at 3/4 for another feed. I've just stored EBM in bags in the freezer ready for next week I think I will resist until he is 16 weeks. DH has a milk allergy so I really wanted to just breastfeed for 6 months but DS is 15lb 11 now and I don't think breastfeeding is enough for him

gingermumi · 16/05/2008 09:06

so pleased all ok beany.

sally- ds was ( ah herm) 16 weeks
when i started weaning. He doesn't feed all the time now, just mormal breast feeds with the odd top up bottle and 2 otr three 'meals'. He has just started to wake at 4am gain, not sure why but i guess he might be having a growth spurt again!

Am going to try to go to mumbabas this morning but i have to write a letter which is provig imposible at the mo (not least because i'm on mn and not doing it!). ds is crying now, i should have done it when he was quiet!!

omy · 16/05/2008 12:00

Sally - LOL at your translation of your poor LO's screams! (sorry not laughing at him screaming - just how right your translation seemed!)
I will have the same thing next week when we go for 2nd lot of jabs.

omy, love the idea of bouncing baby on ball to sleep in front of TV, how nuts is that?? does your dh get much time with dd when he gets in from work? if he's in quite late he might want to "do" stuff with her rather than just see her packed off to bed...and of course in man-world, watching tv is obvs doing stuff. dh watches A LOT of sky sports with dd in the wee hours, i'm witholding comment til she starts becoming more interested in telly than our faces/her fists.

sally - we had our first injections yesterday. don't you feel bad for the poor nurses who do it? i assumed mine was quite hard, but on enquiring she said she really didnt like doing the baby immunisations

have a good day all

beansprout · 16/05/2008 13:03

Thanks for all your messages!! Is all feeling a lot better in the bean house today!

Alkar - it sounds like you are enduring the dreaded 16 week growth spurt. It will settle down soon, I promise. Breast milk IS enough for them. Ds1 was 10lb 5oz when he was born and was exc b/fed until he was 7 months (did offer food at 6m but he was not interested) but I thought the same as you during the 16 w growth spurt. Have just had it with ds2 and it's hideous but it does pass.

Omy - From where I am sitting it's no brainer that your method is preferable!! Hope he sees sense soon.

Have dh's tonsilitis and am off to the docs this afternoon to demand anti biotics, I usually don't like taking them but dh's went untreated over the BH weekend and by the end it was hideous e.g. he tried to swallow a drink and it came out of his nose as his throat was so swollen. No thank you! Nip. In. Bud.
