I had that problem when selecting my wedding dress ended up buying 4 bras till found one that offered adequate support and that you couldnt see.

Have you picked your dress yet?

OP posts:
Lizzzombie · 31/12/2007 15:48

was just talking to a mate of mine whose sil is getting married in June. Her brides dress cost £1800 ! and her bridesmaid (who is 10 years old) will be wearing a £180 dress....can you imagine!!! We were both incredulous at it. (Her SIL is not a rich woman, but is living out her white wedding fantasy big time - at 41 years old). My friend is not happy about her MIL having to fork out for the dresses.

I swear I will get my dress from the monsoon or coast sale! I couldnt spend that much on a dress..think of what kind of honeymoon that could go towards!

Show us a picture of your dress PCF!!! x

Hi Girls, just popping in to wish you all a Happy New Year, Dh is working tonight and I'm not sure if I'll still be up to bring in the new year with the rest on MN like I have for the last 4 years.

FAB news on the new addition DH, I'm green with envy. DH is in my bad books because he wanted another one when ds4 was about 5-6 months and we said we'd wait until we were in the new house...well we're in it now and the sod has changed his mind and ....

We had an ok chrimbo, my mum was here for a few day with was hard work because she drives me mad, she getting old now but still seems to think shes in her 30's....I was a good daughter though and she said she had a lovely time. My entire Xmas was spent with gritted teeth though.
Dh was very thoughtful and got me 3 of http://www.demdaco.com/detail.aspx?ID=10244 these, I'm not really an ornament type gal but I really like these. He got me the pregnant woman one, the one in the link and one with a woamn holding a teeny weeny newborn....I cried when I opened that one, its just sooo lovely .
He alos got me a the 20th annniversay DVD of dirty dancing.

Better go, I have apile of washing to put away and I don't want to start the new year with ANY washing waiting to find it home. Will be back on later, I'm even going to indulge in some fizzy stuff....TTFN

Wilkie · 31/12/2007 17:37

DH - congratulations mate!!!!!!!! My DH just walked in when I squealed cos I read your news and said 'What?', he went a strange shade of grey when I told him yet another of the thread girls is pregnant. Ha ha. Defo no more for us until end of next year. I am very though

LTH - thought DS4 was your last one?? ?

Well, little man is even worse today, temperature, clingy, lethargic, won't eat, just wants to sleep - I have just put him to bed. He has just slept all day. Am feeling a bit worried about him

BF and her DH are coming tonight for a meal so it will be a very civilised (and quiet) affair!

Have a good one and happy birthday little Pippa

eandh · 31/12/2007 17:54

LTH I thought ds4 would def def def be your last!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Wilkie - hope J is okay there are so many bugs going around at the moment

PCF - I love maggie soterro dresses, iirc wilkies was a maggie dress. We spent an obsene amount of money on our wedding but mainly because my mum and dad got lucky with an endownment they set up when I was born (although looking back maybe we could have used the money more wisely paying off prt of the mortgage but it was a great great day)

Lizz - hope all the babies sleep for you tonight

I am in my pj's already and am knackered so doubt I'll see 9pm

Well, I think he will be the last but I also thought that about ds3!

IF we have another one it won't be a surprise one though because seeing that +Ve result all the months ago sent be dooo-lally.

2HappyNewYear · 31/12/2007 20:01

CONGRATULATIONS DH!
And happy birthday P
And get well soon J

Been feeling a bit too, about MoM and all the others who had to leave us. Must be such a hard time of year. I don't know if any of them are around - I know MoM pops on here from time to time - just been thinking about them. I think it's because I'm drugged up with painkillers and a bit woozy!!

eandh · 31/12/2007 20:03

Mom is expecting again she must be around 5 months or more now!

OP posts:
2HappyNewYear · 31/12/2007 20:14

Is she?! That's fantastic! Really pleased for her

Dragonhart · 31/12/2007 20:31

THanks everyone! I keep forgetting and suddenly it hits me again. We were going to try in Jan anyway but after a poorly timed unprotected session it has happened a bit earlier. Know it is only a month but I just always think that it will take us ages, as it did for Luke but now we have donbe it twice, guess next time we will have to be more careful!

I am very very happy though. Just a tad worried that people will think 'OMG they cant even handle two kids and they are having another!' but guess it doesnt matter what anyone else thinks.

We are having a quiet night in too as we thought the kids have had enough messing around over christmas. Trying to have a meal now but after DH kindly offered to put RUth to bed, he has wrapped her in a million blankets and she has woken up boiling and just wont settle now, it will prob be cold by the time I have it. I have left him to it as it seems that every time he 'helps' me it means it takes me more time to get anything done. I know it is a cliquet (sp?) but it is quicker when I do it myself!

Wilkie- Hope J is feeling better tom and that he doesnt have a bad night tonight.

Pink- Gorgeous dresses. I am all for cheap weddings too. I would be gutted if we had had massive debt afterwards. We had a pretty cheap honeymoon too, we went b&bing round Wales. We had a great time, really relaxing and a few weeks on a beach would have driven me crazy! I am just not a beach holiday type of person. Sorry you are still not well.

LTH- You have my sympathies re MILs. I think my teeth are ground down after all the gritting over christmas!

Hope everyone has a good new year night xxx

Dragonhart · 31/12/2007 20:33

Sorry forgot to say Happy Birthday to Pippa!

MerlinsBeard · 31/12/2007 20:50

Happy birthday to your LOs

And congratulations to Dragonhart!! (and Vinorouge but i don't think you 'know' me)

EandH is right, i am pg again, 29 weeks now. Been a hard day and i am going to finish off the cleaning and get in the bath and say goodbye to 2007 with a 2 finger wave!

I am glad i kept up ish as i feel i have gone on a huge journey with you.

Thank you for letting me stay! xxx

eandh · 31/12/2007 20:51

awww lovely to hear from you (just posted on your other thread) wishing you all the happiness in the world for 2008 (do you know if baby is another ds or a dd or a surprise?) can't wait to read birth announcement

OP posts:
MerlinsBeard · 31/12/2007 20:56

its 70% another boy - still no name yet though. Had the other 2 picked out from at least 20 weeks! Will post here first then official birth announcement thread This feels like its my antenatal thread, i don't feel like i fit in on the other one

Dragonhart · 31/12/2007 21:28

MOM- I am not sure whether to join another one or not after my attempt to join the one for Luke and giving up. They were perfectly nice, but I just didnt 'get going'. Hope things are going well and you are feeling ok xxx

BetulookgoodontheLove2danceflr · 31/12/2007 21:58

Hello Ladies. Congrats to VR, DH and MofM. What lovely news to see the NY in with.

I haven't had any time to post recently. MIL has been with us since Xmas eve. No problem to have but just means I do a lot more cooking and cleaning up after people as she prefers to play with Gabriel (oh - please add him in - 7lbs 8oz 3/1/07).

What you all doing tonight? My choice: go to friend of DH's where it will be a very late night (which I don't feel like as have a cold and will feel like shite if it's too hedonistic) or stay in with MIL while DH goes out.

Happy New Year All xx

So Gabriels birthday next then I got all the part plates etc yesterday in my lunch hour and popped to tesco to get milk and jaffa cakes and hula hoops on offer so picked those up! We have 10 children coming on saturday [eek] I think I may sit them all at the table for eating as it may be easier (I have 6 chairs plus the highchair and 2 of the children wont be eating as not weaned yet) will sort the last place out (probably borrow louise next doors highchair!)

Well was in bed by 9pm last night as was knackered, Hattie woke at midnight cause of all of the friggin fireworks then Ellie up at 2am because she needed a wee and dh had shut the bathroom door (she cant turn the handle) then hattie up at 3.30 as was all bunged up from her cold, dh up at 4.30 for work then ellie got up at 6.20 and hattie at 7.10 so I dont feel like I have had any sleep!

BetulookgoodontheLove2danceflr · 01/01/2008 09:49

Wow EandH that's a PROPER party. And to think I was feeling so proud of myself for having baked a cake (we are celebrating today as I'll be at work on 3rd). I haven't iced it yet. We are just having grandparents and us!

What is it with fireworks these days? Is it me or is this quite a new thing? We had them from about 10pm, rising to a crescendo between midnight and half past. Gabriel Louis woke up too. I stayed in last night and DH crept in about 3.30am.

Hope you catch up on som sleep.

eandh · 01/01/2008 09:54

Our problem is that all of our friends had babies around the time Ellie was born and tehrefore they mostly have siblings so numbers grow rapidly!!!! We are doing 2 parties friends and kids on saturday and family on sunday (23 of us on sunday!!!!) and that is only aunts/uncles/grandparents/great grandparents (they have 4 great granparents, 4 grandparents, 11 aunts/uncles/cousins plus us 4!!!) blimmin expensive though only do sandwiches/crisps/carrot/cucmber sticks and sausage rolls for kids party then jelly and ice cream and for sunday am cooking loads of jacket potatos, big bowl of salad and cold meat ie ham/chicken and maybe a quiche

Hope you have a lovely day
