Oh no Laughalot. A similar thing happened to my FIL last year and after they his warfrin right, he has been told he is as fit as he would of been if he didnt have it iyswim. He is 77. Hope all is ok xxx

eandh · 02/01/2008 20:22

LAL I have just text you - please please try not to worry (I know its alot easier said than done) DH has an irregular heartbeath and missing valve and apart form 6montly checkups and keeping his colhestrol down he is fine.

Call me if you need me xxxxxx

OP posts:
Dragonhart · 02/01/2008 20:23

Thy said it was one of his valves not working properly and he is very fit still. Gets less out of breath than I do when we go for a walk with the dog.

eandh · 02/01/2008 20:26

dh sounds as if your fil and dh have similar heart things!

OP posts:
MrsCarrot · 02/01/2008 20:37

Oh no, LL, poor you and your dad. There are so many things that it could be that won't be too serious but of course you will worry until you know. Hope the tests are all done soon and that it's ok.

SproutsRGrEEat · 02/01/2008 22:02

Happy New Year!!! Hope 2008 is as good to you as 2007

Dragon - very many congrats

Lal - thinking of you and your dad. And echo everything that the others said.
Sorry about your aunt PCF.
And MrsC - hope you're feeling better.

Well, my DD is one. How did that happen?? Thanks for your your birthday wishes. We were away at a cottage in Robin Hood's Bay for New Year (and lo's birthday of course), with friends, babies and a dog, which was fab. I always vowed not to have a party for Pip's 1st birtdhay but obviously dragged out the party hats, candles, and cake. Yup. Nazi food mum softened for first birthday and fed lo pizza and fruit cake. The way she shoved the cake in was very entertaining .
She's still a long way from walking but managed to climb up some stairs to celebrate being 1. Swept away a few cobwebs with lots of walks along the beach, and am looking forward to tomorrow now when DH returns to work, and lo goes back to nursery. I am not back at work until Monday

2HappyNewYear · 03/01/2008 07:30

Lal, so sorry about your Dad, I hope he is ok. My Fil is also on warfarin - he has two replaced heart valves, and he's in atrial fibrillation (where the heart beats out of rhythm - could be what your Dad has?), and some heart failure (which makes him doze in front of the tv a lot, but dh says that's nothing new ). He still works part-time, and he spends the rest of his time in the garden or hill walking. Apart from the ticking when you get up close (of the new heart valves) you wouldn't know there was anything wrong with him. Stay strong x

Oh no I knew this was going to happen looks like Hattie has got chickenpox only got 3 spots so far but all blister type spots so more than likely she'll have loads by the morning

Also we have just been to soft play (noticed them when I was changing her nappy before we left) so probably infected some other children and i spent £70 on food for the parties this morning (will still do the parties but I expect all the 'oldies' wont come )

on no, eandh!! That sucks. Crappy timing. Hope she's feeling ok with it, though.

eandh · 03/01/2008 15:29

well she is currently walking around the front room waving a wand at ellie so far they are all around the nappy area so it may be nappy rash but seem smore likely to be cp, asked eddas whose dd and ds had it and she said ds started around nappy area

OP posts:
2happy · 03/01/2008 15:35

Ah well, so long as she is well enough to play fairies. (Or is she a queen? Or perhaps she's cinderella (does cinderella have a wand??). Damn you can tell I'm the mother of boys! D'you think dses would object if I put them in princess dresses??? (Not half as much as dh would mind, I'm sure ))
ds1 doesn't want to go and build snowmen. Not fair. I want to build snowmen.

eandh · 03/01/2008 17:01

Don't think she was being anything except irritating to Ellie as it was her wand and Hattie seems to know which toys are Ellies 'precious' things and delibrately picks those up although the wand makes a swooing noise and has lights when you wave it around so she likes those (ps cinderella doesnt have a wand but fairy godmother does and says 'bippety boppity boo' as she waves her wand not that we watch cinderella a lot or Ellie doesnt have that story every night at bedtime and then has the CD of music sung in the film on after I have finished her story )
