DH's 30th birthday 22/01

I have been late sending Hattie's card with J being ill etc so I hope it arrives for Sat! (sorreee I'm just not as organised as you).

My bum hurts so much

Went to see I am Legend last night - thought it was really good. BF thought it was average. The two DHs thought it was crap.

Sorry for not doing personals - too much chat ladies although DH, hope you are ok after your fall and LAL, hoping your dad's results are OK.

Next year we are considering doing a half birthday for J on 12/07 - I just think cos it is only three weeks after Christmas he is missing out a bit cos I am really struggling already to give people ideas. We thought if we did a half birthday in the summer it would be much nicer for him, nice weather so we can have a party. What do you think? Nice or Naff?

eandh · 03/01/2008 21:24

we have suggested vouchers/money to people so in the summer I can get her some new garden toys and she doesnt understand! Dont worry about the card - some people (family!) appear to have forgotton its her birthday and I just can't get motivated I did do the party bags tonight and been shopping for the food. I was so excited when Ellie turned one doesnt seem te same this time

I'm so glad you said that EAH - TBH, with DH's 30th, J's 1st birthday is just a pain. He is too young to understand, I am having to do two parties for family as we won't all fit in our house together, I have no idea what to suggest for his birthday.....arghhhH!

eandh · 03/01/2008 21:26

have you tried a bit of vaseline around your derriere (Sp) may help a bit

OP posts:
Wilkie · 03/01/2008 21:27

Thank you EAH

bends over in front of EAH

Please will you apply it for me

My bum looks like this (x)

eandh · 03/01/2008 21:30

yep thats why we are having to do 2 parties - ellies was easy being september it was lovely weather we put gazebos up in garden and had everyone round one sunday afternoon (plus neighbour was on holiday and we took down few fence panels (with permission) to make more space)

She only has 3 presents to open on saturday morning and a few cards (not that she'll know anyway) but ellie had huge pile (had her party weekend before her birthday) and we took her to the zoo for the day on her actual 1st birthday. Hatties will be spent preparing food and probably moaning at DH and shouting at Ellie for being annoying

eandh · 03/01/2008 21:45

I am so fed up chocolate we had 12 yes 12 selection boxes for e and h at xmas and they like about 2 things in each box (so guess who has been scoffing the rest?)

I am meant to be looking at new phone tariffs as want to come off t mobile when contract ends next month and need more texts than I get at the mo (and a new phone )

dsis and I were going to do half birthdays for our older two this year - but each time couldn't because of illness/work/hols/whatever. We were just going to do a cake, balloons, and stupid things probably wrapped in newspaper - not a proper birthday, but they're old enough to know what birthdays are and be totally excited but a year is SUCH a long time for them. Might do it this year. But, on the other hand, going to do very little for poor ds2's proper birthday - have lots and lots of bdays at the start of the year, and they got sooooo much stuff for Christmas we really don't need anything else. Bad mother!

LadyTophamHatt · 04/01/2008 08:10

God...am I being really crap that I haven't even concidered a party for G?

can't decide if you're all mad or if I'm just a slack mother....

laughalot · 04/01/2008 08:49

Morning everyone and thanks for all you well wishes and positive vibes. Update on my dad is back for tests today he has to have a heart echo which means not alot to me but should give us some answers as to what is wrong. I thought I was ok this morning but have just spoken to my dad and he said he had a crap night worrying about today so iv just put the phone down and started crying again I just cant help but worry he is only 55 so he is still fairly young. I shall update you all later please please please cross everything for him as I cannot imagine life without my dad x

katwith3kittens · 04/01/2008 10:27

We are all thinking of you Laughalot x

eandh · 04/01/2008 11:33

Thinking of you lal ECHO (sometimes called ECG) is like a scan of heart, dh has these done 6 monthly and i had fetal ECG's done at The Royal Brompton in London (I think they have a co hospital in Harefield)when pg with e and h. T

hey basically can look at all the valves/arteries/bloodflow etc. they often take measurements and can colour the artiereis etc so they can see blood flow/pressure/effectiness. Its really hard to explain but it should be able to detect why the heartbeat is irregular

Hope that helps

Thanks eah xxxxxxxxxxxxxx

LadyTophamHatt · 04/01/2008 12:39

hope it all works out fine LaL.

bunnyhohohunny · 04/01/2008 14:21

hello! I havent posted for ages, as my laptop is a bit shit at the mo. BUT school have given me a sparkly new one (so, you probably wont see me for ages as I try to set it up...)

lal - fingers crossed for your dad. can't imagine what its like for you ((lal))
dh - hope you are ok after your fall.
wilkie - you made me laugh about vaseline!! I like the 1/2 birthday idea. My friend has her b'day on christmas day. so has an 'unbirthday' in june.

lizz - the legend wasnt scary at all. Just very tense at times. And will smith does get his kit off, so that's always worth seeing

lth - I dont think we are having a party either. I wouldnt know what to do with all those babies and mums in my house!! And I'm not sure S would really enjoy it anyway. I might invite a couple of friends over and try to get a non-dairy, non-soya cake for him. Then we are going to softplay and swimming (and then to the pub - s likes pubs )

eah - I have a flext tarriff on tmobile. I get £35 a month of texts/calls for about £15 (I think), and got a new phone with it. I think they let you go half price if your old tarriff runs out and you threaten to leave...

well, back to work on tuesday. can't say I feel very motivated to go back! It's so lovely with all of us at home (dh took 2 weeks off), I think we should both jack in our jobs (and maybe sell up and bugger off round the world, but that's another story)

This is sad that I consider this worth posting, but S had fish fingers the other day. I was in Tesco and suddenly realised he can probably have all the ingredients in them! And breaded chicken! i am so fed up of cooking everything from scratch.

And (drum roll please) I gave him some yogurt today. Just a little bit. So fingers crossed he wont flare up...

Not a lot else to report. DH keeps bugging me to go out into the garden and smash things so he can photo them . Must say it's helping distract me from fags though... We have both given up - I am using patches and DH is going cold turkey. Thankfully he is nearly past the 'arsehole' stage of quitting...

laughalot · 04/01/2008 16:02

Dad update:
Well he couldnt have the heart echo as the Nhs screwed the appointment up whats new there. He did have to go on the monitor and have decided that he needs to see a [sp] cardiologist as his heart is beating very [sp] erratic. So really still no answers he will have the heart echo on wen and also see the specialist that day too. He is fed up as he has 15 tablets to take and has to keep going back over the weekend for [sp] wafrin injections.

theUrbanDryad · 04/01/2008 16:03

hi everyone - very quick post, we are just at the IL's stealing their broadband!

the move isn't done yet, we've still got stuff to move and the old house to clean, which is a bit bleh. dh isn't getting on very well with his new job. i'm so pissed off with him - we've moved 2 counties, for apparently nothing.

grr

anyway, i'll catch up with you all soon! HAPPY NEW YEAR and HAPPY 1ST BIRTHDAY!!

eandh · 04/01/2008 20:25

flying update Hattie has chicken pox albeit at the mo very midly only around 8-10spots and seems happy in herself

I have been cooking food for party and texting everyone to let them know only 2 people not sure if they are coming one is pregnant and not sure if shes had c pox and te other has 4 week old baby so I have left it up to her to decide.

Sunday my Nan has been told by the Dr she cannot travel (she has clot in leg ) and my auntie/uncle have flu so it depends how they are are, but my parents, brother, dh parents, dh sister and family plus possible greatgrandparents on dh side still coming and she wont have a clue will she????
