Well done eah

2HappyNewYear · 27/12/2007 19:40

good thread, but will it last until february?!

RGee - IKexactlyWYM. Exactly. I have a wonderful dh, I love him, he's fantastic, I don't deserve him, I love him, I'd love him to fecking decide what to cook the boys for once. I'd have loved more than one night off ds2 this week, despite him not being at work and being on call most of next week. I'd love him to make the most of his time off with the family, not spend it doing...actually I haven't a clue what he's been doing. But he is promising me a back massage tonight in front of Harry Potter (no bugger got us it for Christmas so we've had to blooming buy it ) so maybe I'll just stop there... I may even have some of the ENORMOUS slab of Hotel chocolat I was given for Christmas (after being a tad mystified by you lot going on about it on the secret santa bit, I'd never heard of it before).

eandh · 27/12/2007 20:07

I love hotel chocolat chocolate and we have a shop in our town now (they built a new shopping street thingy lots of lovely shops down there (although a bit to close to my work for dh liking)

2Happy if thread doesnt last we'll make a special one just for babies due in Jan who arrived in Feb

RGee - feel for you. Why don't you mess up the wires in the plug of the XBox for a laugh. Have you told him how you feel? My BF and husband have a 'rota' which works for them. I am lucky, DH is good with helping so I can't really complain. Big hugs and kisses >

EAH - glad E getting back to normal. Why did I think chickenpox went on for WEEKS??

UD - J has been really poorly too. Temp up to 38-39, started on boxing day and has been clingy ever since. He slept all evening on my chest yesterday evening and then slept in my bed last night whilst DH slept on the sofa. Bless my little man

Hope all of you had a great Xmas, ours was manic but lovely but I was back to work today How fast did that go??

x

theUrbanDryAdventCalendar · 27/12/2007 21:36

hi everyone - well we started moving today, picked up the van and phoned my friend who was supposed to help us move ...and he was ILL!!! funny how he didn't seem ill yesterday when we were giving him our telly, but there you go. got two runs down to Chesham done today, house now looks very empty without sofas, armchair and dining room table. Z looked very confused when he went into the living room and there was nothing in there except his buggy!!

i hate hate hate moving house, i hope we don't have to do it for AGES, but my mum's been fab, she had Z tonight while we did the 2nd run as i didn't fancy moving sofas etc while Z was on the loose! she gave him his tea, put him in the shower and got him to sleep!! MIL and dh's aunt are coming tomorrow to "help" so that'll be fun!

RGee - big {{hug}} from me (and treasure it, cause they're rare! ) i know what you mean, dh can be such a PITA sometimes, but he's been ok lately. we've just both been stressing about the move! he's gone out to get tea - chicken kebabs! healthy! i'll start the diet in the new year, honest!!

Hey, Long time, no post etc. Hope everyone is OK. Don't seem to have the time to post during the day anymore but seem to be suffering a bit of insomnia at the mo. Is anyone else feeling a bit strange? With the 1st year coming up I mean?

Wilkie · 28/12/2007 09:13

DH didn't get job at Pontefract - didn't even get an interview - am feeling very frustrated and fed up.

Am off to shop in the sales for a bit today I think.

J is refusing any milk in his bottle. Not sure what to do! Am I ok to just drop it????

eandh · 28/12/2007 10:17

aww sorry to hear that Wilkie but fingers crossed for another opportunity soon. Hattie will only drink milk when she wakes up in the morning and just before bed, but refuses a bottle so I make very milky hot chocolate in a beaker and she has that

I am at work today and noone was expecting me in so I have diddly squat to do so been out shopping got cords, jeans, jumper, top, pj's for me from dp's £32 for all of them!! Got DH some jeans and a top and the girls new winter coats for nextr year from M&S reduced from £30 to £9!! And best bit is I havent spent any cash as all gift vouchers!

ud hope you are getting settled in your new house

Only 8 days till Hattie is 1 she is walking properly now and mumbling lots of sounds occasionally they sound like random words (except for the word No she says that very clearly - must be because its all I seem to say!) i am sort of pleased because I find them easier when they can do little things for themselves and also a bit as I know there wont be any more little tiny babies to cuddle (just have to borrow all our friends ones instead!)

Happy Christmas to you all!

I got mastitits christmas day, such a pain. Are you all nearly one already?? F must be a one of the latest, he's not one till 21st. Has started walking now though prefers to crawl for speed.

MrsCarrot · 28/12/2007 14:22

EAH - can't believe you are still getting all the good bargains. I can't bear to go shopping ever again I think.

vinorouge · 28/12/2007 16:40

Hello all!

Vino back home today and also wondering where all the new toys are going to live.....E had been such a poppet while we've been away, full of beans all the time, bedtime and naps gone to pot and oh so nearly walking! She loves my dad and when vino&family&vino parents went to PILs on xmas day my dad felt a bit bad that Ellen only wanted him and no-one else.

Xmas lunch at PILs. I cannot go through it again. No negotiating. I did not enjoy the food AT ALL. Soooo glad my mum had done turkey etc on xmas eve when my little bro and wife visited.

Was pissed off that MIL had specifically asked what we wanted for E for xmas then bought nothing off the list. AAAAGGGGHHHH.

Rgee - One of my schoolfriends who has a 3/4 week old baby text me saying 'motherhood is hard isn't it' YEP! Don;t know about you but as much as I want DH to help me think about stuff I also want to do it myself so I know its been done properly/we have the right stuff for going away etc so I am my own worst enemy cos when he offers to help I tell him he's done it all wrong.

I went sales shopping in Lvierpool yesterday - alone - and he rang me to see what I had said was for Ellens lunch. I hadn't thought about it at all....

DH and I both off work til Weds when I go to London til Fri. Bit nervous about the new job.

The girl buying our house is coming for a 4th b**y viewing tomorrow cos her mum is here (she lives down south). So we have to be tidy. I wouldn;t mind but her mum saw it when they appeared unannounced one Sunday afternoon.

E&H I have taken the xmas cards down cos I thought they looked messy. Tree still up though.

I could go on and on......

Wilkie - bummer about dh&Ponte job. One will work out xx

Wilkie · 28/12/2007 19:02

Hi all

Breakthrough - Chocolate Horlicks before bed made up with milk in a beaker worked. Downed full 6oz!

Not much to report although DH and I have had a good long chat about his job and we have agreed that we just can't keep life on hold until one crops up so we are going to put house on market in March and move in Lincoln. I just CANNOT be doing with waiting around 'just in case' - we could be waiting another couple of years!!!

Feeling shite today - think am coming down with the bug that DH and J have had. Very hot and cold, headache etc.

Went into town to look at sales today - what a load of tat there is about! Was most disappointed. Polished my halo though cos I bought a poor homeless bloke a coffee - poor sod

Mrs C - bummer about the mastitis!!!! How're you feeling now?

bunnyhohohunny · 28/12/2007 19:38

hello everyone! Hope you all had fab christmases.

wilkie - back at work already?! that is too quick! S is refusing milk too - I think you are ok as you can include cheese, yogurt etc to make sure he is getting calcium. I think past 1 infant formula isnt that important. I had to get a calcium supplement for S today as he is only taking 12 - 15 oz a day. It tastes disgusting, but we can't supplement with dairy so have no choice Might try him on some dairy soon, just to see what happens.

UD - hope the move is going well! I LOVE moving! waking up somewhere different, exploring, meeting new people, having a sort out etc etc Our house is on the market, but while I love moving, I hate selling!

RGEE - I think we can all sympathise with you! DH is pretty good, but I do tend to find I am the one doing the most for s. He always wriggles out of cooking for S, so I buggered off today, telling him to do jacket spud and beans. Lo and behold, when I got back, S was stuffing his face. Can you do a rota for eveings / mornings? DH is away tonight - he is trading it for me going out with my friend next month. But I don't think he can hear S wake up like I do, so I'm a bit nervous about staying out..

Mrs c - mastitis on christmas day. Poor you!

Well, S is one of the last to turn 1, so I am lurking, waiting to pinch your ideas for birthdays! So far, we are getting him swimming lessons and a wetsuit (so we can hold him while he is all creamed up in the water). We though christmas could be 'presents', and birthdays can be 'events' iyswim. I did try to convince the relatives S really wants to go abroad for his first birthday, but there were no takers...

Lizzzombie · 28/12/2007 20:47

Hello everyone!
My brain is a little too addled for lots of personals.
But, UD - hope move goes well, and best of luck in your new house. I bet you are SO excited!
Wilks - hope you feel better soon
Rgee - I have given up expecting the boring decisions to be made by anyone else but me.
Vino - Hope 4th viewing is enough for her to make an offer!
Eah - bargains sound good.
I got the most amazing bargains in Debenhams today. Two lovely dresses from the Betty Jackson black range. Both 70% off!!! £50 to £15. One of my new years resolutions is to stop looking like such a trog.

Well. Our xmas was shitty....literally. After DP having the evil sickness bug on my birthday, the friday, I then got it on Sunday, unfortunately after I had eaten a large curry. (ugh) then we drove to lowestoft on xmas eve with me feeling rather poorly, I went to bed v. early on xmas eve, missing dinner. But was ok on xmas day. Then boxing day, both DP's neices came down with the evil sickness bug during the day. In the night, his nephew and brother got it and the following morning, his sister in law and his Dad got it. I felt so guilty that we had passed on our germs to them all.
Anyway. We are home now. (got back yesterday) and DP has gone out to Brighton for the evening. So, not only did I not get a birthday night out, but, he is out on the town whilst I am stuck at home. I have decided that my MN name is rubbing off in RL...as I literally have NO life (like a zombie!)

So...what did you all get for xmas??
I got a ticket to Wicked! I am so excited. Has anyone seen it? am going with DP's mates girlfriend, and we are going to get very very very very drunken. Going on February 1st if anyone else fancies coming along too!

Ohh...btw - Eah - we got totally disorientated around Tunbridge Wells yesterday, it looks really good for shopping. I can get a bus there from Eastbourne too. Am thinking I may have a proper day out there sometime.

Um, nothing else to report.
At work tomorrow.
DJ is still not walking. Has lost a bit of weight as isnt really eating properly at the moment. I think its due to his teeth. Dr wants stool samples from him on Monday though, as his shit has been rank for the last 10 days. Poor little thing.

Thats all for now.
Am off to bed.
At 8.45pm! Ho hum x

Lizzzombie · 28/12/2007 20:48

Just in case you hadn't heard of it WICKED

MrsCarrot · 28/12/2007 21:26

That show look good, Lizz, I haven't been out for ages, well, feels like it anyway. I got dd dorothy slippers for christmas, they were flat so I put a little heel on and glittered it ike the shoe and then stuck a big ruby gem on the bow. They look quite good if I say so myself.

Thanks, Wilkie/Bunnyhunny, I feel a bit better toay. It came on towards the end of christmas day so at least I had the presents and meal before feeling ill. I have had it countless times now, hope he's grateful.

Actually, he's screaming in bed atm, have fed loads and rocked loads and he still won't go to sleep.

katwith3wisemen · 28/12/2007 22:15

Oooh Lizz was a bit shitty by the sounds of it. You too Mrs C

We had a lovely first birthday party. DD organised everything, fancy dress, (minimal effort required as I had a furry gilet and a furry scarf around my head .... a bear of course ! DH came back from playing a round .... instant golfer!) musical chairs, musical statues and cheese sandwiches with jelly and plenty of champagne HeHe !

Baby crying ... gotta go... happy new year everyone.

PS can I go shopping with you Eah ?

eandh · 29/12/2007 08:13

kat of course you can sounds like you could hire dd out to organise all the parties

Lizz - Ellie is going to TWells tomorrow with my parents as they are going to see cinderella at the assembly halls (she loves cinderella and t wells is only about half an hour away) I hate driving round there though and tend to go straight to park and ride and bus into the town centre. I didnt realise that we are not actually that far away from each other as I think you said you can train into ashford as well - definatley a meet up soon (although minus Ellie as she is being a pita at the mo)

Actually they are both PITA Hattie has stinky cold and nasty cough and Ellie got woken by Hattie at 5.45 so I have put them both back to bed as they were moaning and tantruming. have put some washing on and swept the floors but I really cant be arsed to do anymore as it'll get wrecked when they come back down.

We need to go and swap one of the storage boxes I bought the otherday as its broken but not sure I can face it with both of them in tow, apart from that we have nothing else to do today so i have a feeling I am going to be very bored by lunch time !

OP posts:
Wilkie · 29/12/2007 10:05

Urgh - have got a stinking headache. It seems to be related to my time of the month as I get them every bloody month! I hope it has gone by tonight because we are going out for an Indian (am I allowed to say that on here!?!?!?!? ) with our friends and I am really looking forward to it. J is stopping at PILs.

EAH - has the chickenpox left any marks on Ellie?

eandh · 29/12/2007 12:04

am so of your night out - take some nurofen and I'll keep my fingers crossed for you!!

No marks yet altough she keeps picking one pox behind her ear so that one may mark but she has been so so good at not picking/scratching, shame she cant be that good at behaving she is being a nightmare today I can't wait for 6.30 so she can go to bed

OP posts:

susiecutiemincepies · 29/12/2007 18:36

hi again, can I just add my DD's birthday?

Isobel Charlotte: 09/01/2007 4lbs 13oz

teeny weeny gorgeous tiny lady, with a full head of beautiful strawberry blonde hair! She almost fit into DH hand.

Hope you all had a lovely christmas. we managed to get DH home, and away from work christmas eve. So spent a truly lovely christmas together, along with my brother, his family, and my mum and step dad.

Dh is not back up north, to work until next monday, so a whole week left together!

Trying to decide what to do for Isobels birthday. DH cant be with us on the actual day, which is SO sad, but we're thinking the weekend after, of having some sort of a tea party, will just be inviting a few close friends and family... any ideas?
