Evening Girls!

DH has gone to the pub, the babes are asleep (for now), so I'm having some me time, Friends, MN, and some vino! Yaay!

HC, sorry you are not very well, and hope you are better soon x x x

CB, sympathies with the MS, but hey, you've got a beanie in there! Hope it passes soon.

Spin, sorry, but LOL at Roshi! She is some character eh?! Hope those results are pending.

Twinkle, tantrums here too. Depending on my mood, I either ignore, shout back (obviously doesn't work!) or go down and cuddle her and ask 600 questions trying to guess what set her off. Eventually I get it, so just go back two steps and let her open the door or whatever. It's impossible to get it right 9 times out of ten though, so just take heart that you're not alone.
Lots of cuddles.

Kbaby, the fecking pox. I hope he's over it soon. Such a pain, you have my sympathies.

Bloss, your Tobes is such a hero. Big Hugs!

Pixel you will be pleased to know I left work at 3.30! I could have left earlier, but I was busy, em, MNing...
Fingers crossed for the house sale.

Beadmum, snap, good luck with the house sale!

Joey is suddenly 'scared' of bees!? In the garden yesterday there was one, and he jumped back and cried until I cuddled him and told him there was nothing to be scared of, they won't hurt you if you don't hurt them blah blah.
Then last night I was putting him to bed, and he refused to get in, crying and whining. Very unlike him, he usually loves hopping in to his dinosaur bed to hear his crocodile story. Anyway, I eventually got it out of him that there was a bee in his bed... there wasn't, obviously, but I pretended to have it buzz out the window, but it wasn't until DH came in with his spider (hand) to eat it up that he calmed down and got into bed. Very strange.

Anyways best go DH is home

AnnieAreYouOkAreYouOkAnnie · 06/04/2008 14:02

Hi Jeanie! Where've you been?

thefortbuilder · 06/04/2008 16:02

hi everyone - bloss you are so brilliant getting through this with toby - i know how heartbreaking it is, even though we are still jsut looking at jacob crossing his eyes - get his glasses next week when the lenses have been ground - have managed to get them 2.9mm thick so that's something.

dh was very contrite the day after, and as much as i like to think it was him letting off steam he was actually just being a complete arse tbh. i have made excuses for him for years when he does this and it's just got worse and worse and worse, and he had plenty of nights while i was pg when it was the "i'm just getting it out of my system before we have 2 kids, and i will settle down then bollock bollocks bollocks....." so i'm not excusing him any more. FGS it's not like he hasn't had enough time to get used to the idea, or that he wasn't buying into it from the start.

anyway, jacob too is having tantrums, although his main thing is shouting VERY loudly at everything. o'h and DH told me to stop telling him to be quiet (use his inside voice) the other day as "I don't want him thinking he can't express himself". i fought with myself very hard to not say "well you know what you get up in the night and bf for an hour or so at a time and then you try and deal with jacob yelling all the time and not trying to get him to be quiet..." but as i apparently complain at a lot of things all the time now i didn't think it would be appreciated.

sorry, i know it's trivial but i could quite happily strangle dh multiple times a day at the moment. he seems to just forget that i had a baby 16 days ago. ceebee take note! make sure everyone remembers it

anyway, will be off before i bring you all down to my terrible mood

hc will put a pic on tomorrow - took some more today

great snow here as well today!

thefortbuilder · 07/04/2008 09:49

i think i have successfully killed the thread

AnnieAreYouOkAreYouOkAnnie · 07/04/2008 11:05

Flick, sympathies with the DH. I just hope he comes to his senses soon, and appreciates what he has got. Can't wait to see pics of Sam!!!

We had snow yesterday too, about four inches. We went out to make a 'now-man, but it was quickly knocked over by Kayley! We threw lots of snowballs though. It was all gone by the afternoon though. Bizarre!
Both of em came in last night into the bed, Joey is full of cold, so we brought him in too.
We did however, manage to get in a sneaky massage and the inevitable afterwards, before they both woke up!! Hurrraaaaaaaay!!! (Pixel, I'm sure you will be pleased!)
Sorry if that's TMI by the way, but all I could think of during it was, oh great I'll be able to tell my best mate and everyone on MN tomorrow!! How sad am I...

Right, best do some work...

HumphreysCorner · 07/04/2008 11:08

flick-where is the pic? [hopeful emoticon] Bless you for putting up with your DH after just having a baby. {{hugs}}

Feeling slightly more human-have had mum on the phone trying to force feed me. She told me that dad was making soup for me as we spoke so will be attempting that later. It is the school hols and Emma already driving me mad. She had a name tag that goes on a zip and the name broke off. Looked like teeth marks which she denied but today she confessed she bit it off. Am so cross as I was going to get her a new one but now I'm not so sure. Thing is, it is the only way to guarantee she comes home with her school coat and not someone elses. Have banned TV today so now she is having a paddy so sat on the naughty mat. Oh, what to do. Small problem really compared to all you lovely ladies at the moment.

Hi to everyone else Had better go and get her off the mat.

Hi all,

Sorry for my random Hi the other day, I just wanted it to be on my list of threads.

How is everyone? I have lots of catching up to do.

Good to see that the tantrums are kicking in all over the place. Abbey is 18 in the head. She is soooo determined to get her own way, she can be very difficult sometimes. Also, still cute as a button.

Hi Annie- d'ya know what I haven't really been anywhere. DP has built an office at the back of the garden and the computers are now in there and I'm so lazy I mostly can't be arsed to venture up here as often as I should. How bad is that. Plus we just found out my dad has emphysema, so I am there a lot of the time helping him with dinner and cleaning, shopping etc.

I'm now off to get a cuppa and have a read of what you've all been up to since October, but I wanted to say Hi to everyone first.

Hope you don't mind me joining you again.

Speak soon

xx

Evening all

HC, it's the thought that counts! Before last night, I couldn't remember the last time either. Over a year I reckon.
Hope you are feeling better now, if not, I recommend a hot toddy.

Jeanie, good to hear from you!! Glad Abbey is doing well and tantrumming with the best of them. And sorry to hear about your dad.

DH is out tonight with his brother, so I'm not expecting him back any time soon. He won't be getting any if he's drunker than me!!! And I've not had anything to drink.

I expect there'll be four in the bed again later, as Joey announced that he didn't want to get in his dinosaur bed, he wants to go in Mammy and Daddy's bed. I only just averted an incident by saying Daddy wasn't back yet but he could come in later... hmm... I suspect that was a short term solution!

Anyway, best head to bed while I have the chance to have it to myself for five minutes!
Nite all

Hi all

Blasted sickness returned in the night along with TMI liquid diarrhoea. YUKKY! Think it was the soup my dad made that wouldn't settle. So definitely no deed will be taking place anytime soon.

Annie-hope you had an OK night and DH wasn't too amourous. My bed has always been a sacred place for sleeping so have never allowed the girls in it bad mummy that I am.

MIL has got both girls today so am spending the day on the settee attached to a hot water bottle and sipping boiled water.

Love to all

AnnieAreYouOkAreYouOkAnnie · 08/04/2008 13:08

OH HC, big hugs hope you get better soon. Honestly, try a hot whiskey! With lemon and honey and cloves. LOL DH wasn't the least bit amourous, he was knackered after walking all the way from Covent Garden to King's Cross and then waiting 40 minutes for a train!!
You are lucky the girls have never come in your bed, cos I think once they're in, that's it. End of sleep.

Must go, people to train...

Wallace · 08/04/2008 21:19

Sorry not been keeping up with all the posts

temper tantrums - mostly when he is tired he gets so frantic. my arms are covered in bites and scratches

thefortbuilder · 08/04/2008 21:37

promise promise promise will sort out pics tomorrow xxxxxx

dh is after getting some already as well - honestly telling him i'm not allowed to for 6 weeks after a section doesn't seem to be sinking in.

he's in a paddy tonight as we got a parking ticket - we haven't got round to getting our new residents permit yet and are using scratch off visitors ones - i have been replacing them each night but last night dh did it, put the new one on the side nearest the road and didn't take the old one out. lo and behold this morning there is a ticket because the one nearest the kerb is an out of date one. and he has a go at me when he gets in!!!!! FGS he was the one that replaced it.

i'm shattered today, but it's my own fault for not napping when sam napped today and jacob was at football with nan nan - was too busy writing out birth announcement cards

at least the stair gates have arrived so i can put one on sam's and jacob's rooms as at the moment the ones on the stairs are off because of the builders (how's that for poor english...) so jacob can be in sam's room with me without the possibility of running down the stairs. poor little man he was in such a hurry to get to his bath today that he slipped on the second step and banged his mouth. luckily i was behind him and caught him.

anyway, must go as sam is wide awake so need to go and sort him out!

HumphreysCorner · 08/04/2008 22:37

Hi Wallace

flick-there is no rush. Methinks you have enough on your plate already.

Annie-have not touched alcohol for a week so must be off colour. Feeling a tad better-tis OK when I sit up but as soon as I lay down I feel nauseous-bleurgh!

Night all

AnnieAreYouOkAreYouOkAnnie · 09/04/2008 11:05

Flick I read that as your DH was after getting some already, as in, he got it!? You are some woman. Luckily I read it wrong.

HC, sending you 'get well soon' hugs.
You don't think it could be something else do you? you know, nauseous, off alcohol, knackered...

DH is taking the babes to the Zoo today! They were so excited this morning, bless em, I took them on the train as far as Warren St, then they were on their own after that, to meet DH's brother and family, and walk through Regent's Park. I'm hoping to skive off early again and join them later.
Everyone was giving them both smiles on the train, as they commented on everything;

Mimi: 'people on, mammy, and people off now'
'choo choo stop now'
'goin' again now'

Joey: 'I want to sit on a chair'
Me: 'The chairs are all full up, Joey, let's wait til someone gets off'
Joey: 'ok mammy, then can I sit in a chair?'
Me: yes Joey
Joey: Oh Fank you very much mammy!'

And he going to see the crocodiles and the snakes, and Mimi is going to see the elephants...

Bless em...

Anyway, best get on. My 'trainee' is hovering, waiting for me to get going. Which would be a good idea really, considering I want to leave early.

Annie-if I hadn't had a big AF I would be testing for sure. Damn this illness-feel grot. Did you get to leave early you skiver.

spin-whatever happened to that little baby eh? She is one determined toddler. That's a long time to wait for results isn't it? {{hugs}} for your migraine and hope it is slightly better in the morning.

Hi to everyone else.

ImpyChica · 09/04/2008 21:09

Hi peeps

Gorg pic Spin/K - Roshi is divine! Sounds like all our LOs are going through a challenging stage! Ryan is in super tantrum mode too - and, like Wallace, my arms are black and blue from bites and scratches!

Poor Jacob and Toby {hugs} - hope the whole specs thing goes well. You take it easy Flick - sounds like your DH is being a handful (and he can't blame the "terrible twos"!)

Hope you feel better soon HC - poor old thing!

Love your zoo trip story Annie - your two sound adorable! How is "mimi"s ezcema? I switched to a dermo/friendly washing powder and Ryan's seems to be a lot better.... so finger's crossed. Am wondering about getting one of those balls you put in the washing machine, that magically attract dirt away from clothes... but am dubious as to how effective they are.

Hi Jeanie. {waves} Hope you're ok.

Hi to everyone else!

All good here. Had my parents here for a week which was fab - so great to have help. Keep trying to persuade them to move to Madrid!
Then last weekend we popped to Estepona to stay with friends which was lovely - though Ryan managed to climb out the travel cot and appeared at the top of the stairs in his sleeping bag! Argh!

Anyway, hugs to all.

Impy xxx

HumphreysCorner · 10/04/2008 09:06

Impy-lol at Ryan climbing out of his travel cot. It is the sort of thing Emma would have done but Sophie doesn't even attemp this in her cot so haven't needed to lower it to the lowest level. Wouldn't it be lovely to have your parents nearby?

Bloss-how are things?

Maewest-haven't heard from you for ages?

Last night Emma was sick everywhere-hoping Sophie doesn't get it. She is poorly as it is with a cold and gungy eyes. If I survive these 2 weeks hols then I deserve a medal. I feel a tad better but have shooting aches all over.

Waves to everyone else. Must get on and iron the mounatin of washing sat in the utility room.

Love to all.

Hi HC, thanks for thinking of me . Hope you all feel better soon.

I've just been busy, working, toddler wrangling, making handmade invites for my dad's retirement party (get me!) and... setting up my brand new study now we've moved the bedrooms around. Tis fab, but do have to let DH have a little desk in the corner .

Today DH had a day off and we went out looking at sofas, had lunch out then returned home for an afternoon nap .

Feeling a bit sick and AF due soon, but think I just ate a bad kidney bean rather than anything more exciting, ho hum. Better go, I'm hosting book group tonight

AnnieAreYouOkAreYouOkAnnie · 11/04/2008 14:36

Hi girls,

gearing up for the weekend now! All work is done, so I will be skiving off very soon. I love having 'slaves'!!

Mae, your study sounds great! And your afternoon nap! How is Dom sleeping now? K is still the same.
Hope you feel better, and AF behaves herself.

HX are you feeling any better?

Impy, LOL at Ryan climbing out IN his sleeping bag! Some feat! Mimi's eczema is ok thanks, haven't had a flare up for weeks now, since starting the lactofree milk. We also use the Boots Sensitive Detergent (can't remember exactly what it's called) and give everything an extra rinse cycle. She still had very dry skin and scratches a lot, but at least it's not red raw. Dunno about those ball things...

Well, if anyone is in North London on Sunday afternoon, please pop in and see us, we are having a bbq (weather permitting, it may well be a day in the pub instead!) for Joey's 3rd birthday (his birthday on Tuesday). Haven't organised a thing yet! Except to buy his Jungle Climber on eBay, and lots of Little People Animals for his Little People Zoo, and Noah's Ark...
And a crocodile jigsaw...

Anyway girls, must head. Emails to send, Facebook to check...

Have a lovely weekend x x x

thefortbuilder · 11/04/2008 18:19

o'h annie i wish we weren't so lazy and would be in your neck of the woods!

things not so bad here today - mil has gone to SA!!!!! and funnily enough jacob is a lot calmer and not so over excited...

went to petrus for dinner last night for mil birthday - very very lovely but the downside was (how did you know there was going to be one with me at the moment ) was that we had a booking for 915 so didn't get home till v late and i was shattered. and then sam woke up every 2 hours for feeding (he's starting to act the same as his brother and not feed enough at his night feed because he goes backto sleep all warm and snuggly) and then jacob ended up down in with us wailing his head off, which woke sam up again who wailed and then when jacob nearly got back to sleep he woke up because of same wailing for food again.... and then dh was complaining of a sore tummy and being kept awake! well fgs we have 2 kids under 2 what do you expect is going to happen when one of them is 3 weeks old????

anyway, really looking forward to the weekend as mil not here for a bit - also jacob has eaten 2 sausages for dinner which is a real achievement and has started liking bananas!

anyway must go childminer going soon so i'll be on my own with both boys..... wish me luck!
