ceebee - congratulations!!! so happy for you

after seeing mortgage advisor last week, we found out we can afford what we were hoping for. Went for a 2nd viewing of house we love and have found out that they received an offer £15,000 over the asking price and rejected it, worried now as that was really our limit, dh is willing to go higher but im not wanting us to stretch ourselves too much. Looks like house will go to closing date so all we can do is put in our best offer and if its not good enough tell ourselves it wasnt meant to be.

flick - so excited waiting for your news

kbaby - hope dd is better soon, could it just be a phase ds is going through with food?

agalch - cant believe its been nearly a year, i remember you talking about your wedding plans, has past so fast

spin - (((hugs))) hope youre doing ok

bloss - no wonder youve been worried, im sure if the hospital were satisfied he must be fine. Try not to make yourself worse googling though (((hugs))) Your dinner for easter sounded yummy

hc - thats what easters all about isnt it, i ate way too much chocolate too have been very good lately and now weigh less than pre-pregnancy, still around 7lbs to target though which i want to be at for ttc

impy - is there anything to put in the water that would soothe ds skin and help? could be the water thats annoying him though, sorry no help at all.
Dont know if sending pics and letters to inlaws is an option, thay have never been in touch so doesnt look like theyre interested at all. I would consider it if they showed any interest but i guess some people just dont care enough. Find it sad when i think about it but we are just getting on with things, charlotte cant miss what shes not got.

Very cold but sunny here, not had any snow here.
Enjoy the rest of your day ladies xx

thefortbuilder · 24/03/2008 18:55

haven't read anyone's posts but sitting here with tears running down my face so happy for you ceebee!!!!!

and...................Samuel James Nathaniel Llewellyn Parbhu was delivered by section last thursday at 1923. He weighed in at 4lb 10oz, so 5oz more than they reckoned!

After a mammoth day, which started at st georges at 745am, to be told at 1030 that their NNU was closed because of infection, and that the hospital was phoning other hospitals to find one that could take us...we then waited till 4pm to be taken to Epsom General, who then told us that as it wasn't an emergency they were going to hold us over till the next morning... so lots of stropping and stamping of feet got the consultant in and they relented and delivered that evening. All fine with me afterwards, and I've been discharged home already.

Samuel has an infection so has been on antibiotics since pretty much birth, he's off CPAP now which is great and should be coming off the last little bit of oxygen this evening. He's being fed by a tube at the moment but atempting a bit of a bf which is good.

so all in all not too bad a start, and our next hurdle is to get him back to st george's as epsom are quite conservative - " well he's 34 weeks so he'll be here for at least 3 weeks...." which we don't need unless he has to be in there!

will catch up more later

Hope your stitches aren't too painful

Wonderful news flick. Hope he's home soon.

I am knackeredfrom being up all night with scratchy DD and have to stay in for another day looking at these 4 walls. Surely tiredness and cabin fever cant be a good combination. MIL came down yesterday and offered to take both of them up with her but of course noone wanted to go, typical!

TheGoddessBlossom · 25/03/2008 09:29

Congratulations Flick and welcome to Sam! Wonderful news. How was your meal?

Bloss

xx

catchingzeds · 25/03/2008 10:43

CB- Congratulations!! Fabulous news xx

Kbaby- Being stuck in is awful Hope she picks up soon. Zack stops eating sometimes and it drives me insane. He can sometimes be tempted to eat new foods he hasn't seen before other than that eating sat on the sofa with Mr Tumble sometimes works

Bloss- must have been awful, they wouldn't have sent him home if it were anything to worry about. ((hugs))

Spin- huge hugs. I would definitely pay for testing. You will worry yourself sick x

Agalch- a year That's a b**r, plan a nice night at home together, not the same though I know.

Bead- fingers crossed for you! Hope you get it, when is the closing date?

Flick- CONGRATULATIONS!!! Hope little Samuel is home with you all soon x

We have had a very stressful week too. Zack had his tests done at the hospital last week, we were so proud of him, he was so brave. I felt huge relief they were over with.
Next day we got a call from his consultant to say we had to return to the hospital immediately as the blood tests showed abnormalities. DP was working an hour away but Dr said no time to wait, he kept asking how Zack was and I felt he didn't quite believe me when I said he was fine.
Phoned DP in a complete sobbing panic which with hindsight was very stupid seeing as he had to drive home
Got to the hosp and was taken to childrens ward and given own room with cot. I felt sick, I knew it must be serious as no-one was trying to reassure me.
They repeated the blood tests and tried to put in a drip in case the results confirmed their worries. Luckily they had trouble getting the blood and couldn't manage to get the drip in. Then we had an horrendous 3 hour wait for results, luckily Zack slept throughout and we just paced around the hospital.
Results came back fine! I have never felt so much relief. We were told the first blood taken must have clotted and all levels came back low. 2nd tests revealed low levels in one area but this is apparently not uncommon in children of Zack's age and size.
And there ended the worst day of my life, we got back home at about 10pm and DP and I were in shock over what had happened.

We are still waiting for 2 results and so still a bit shaky and jump every time the phone rings. It seems silly but I was so worried about having the tests done and that Zack would be in pain and upset that I had stopped worrying about the results.
Nothing like a shock to make you realise how lucky you are

Thanks Spin

And I absolutely back you up, who cares what others think YOU know what's best for your children and your own sanity, no point in worrying about it if you can be given an answer is there? I hope all turns out fine, keep posting to keep us up to date x

PixelHerder · 25/03/2008 12:18

Hi Girls

Gosh what a lot has been happening

BIG congrats to you Flick !! Fab that he (and you) are doing so well, and lovely names. Good luck with getting him home soon so he can play with his big brother

Bloss ? how?s Toby doing today? Must have been such a shock and terrifying for you, at least they got him examined quickly. Will he have any follow-ups?

Catchingzeds ? oh poor you and your DP, what a nightmare, no wonder you were in shock. Fingers crossed that the next lot of results will be a lot less traumatic.

Spin ? yes I?d agree about the testing too, if it can get that weight off your mind it would be well worth it to know either way.

Gosh and Agalch and Kbaby ? hugs to you both and your poorly DD?s, hope things improve soon ? in fact Big Hugs all round today I think!

xxx

ceebee74 · 25/03/2008 13:29

Spin ? agree with everyone else ? sod the expense and get the tests done. You can?t put a price on your children?s health can you?? And it may just put your mind at rest and ease your anxiety

Zeds ? OMG, how awful for you and Zack. It must have been terrifying and it sounds like the hospital weren?t exactly helping the situation. Did they give you any indication as to what they thought was wrong or did they just leave you in the dark? Glad you are all at home now.

Kbaby ? I wouldn?t worry about DS eating ? Josh has phases where he eats very little and others where he will eat loads. Although we always eat breakfast and lunch at the table, we have tea (which is usually sandwiches) in the lounge like a picnic ? this way I find he eats more as he tends to eat some, go away and play, come back and eat more etc ? might be worth a shot? What an awful Easter you have had ? hope you ate some chocolate to cheer yourself up

Well ladies, please go and look at my profile photos ? have added one of Josh after his first ever haircut ? he had it done about an hour ago The little angel sat quietly and didn?t bother at all which was great and, on a positive note, at least he looks like a little boy again now

Hi girls - just another quick catch up...

Ceebee - aaaaaaw he looks gorgeous, bless him sitting still all the way through a haircut I think Emma would have been vv jealous of his lovely flowing locks, she's still a bit on the baldy side I've trimmed her back and sides a bit as they were a getting a bit mullet-esque, but have yet to cut her fringe as it's only just grown down to her eyebrows.

Beadmum - good luck with the house, it's an exciting but stressful process isn't it!

Kbaby - lovely pic of DS, he's looking so grown up now! Glad to see too that you have DD's spots recorded for posterity

Agalch - your DH is soooo romantic have a fab time

I'll attempt to upload some pics of Emma - let me know if it works...

Pixel-Emma is gorgeous. I must make an effort to put some of the Sophster on-she must be growing as her 6-9 month clothing is becoming a tad small.

Pixel, she's so gorgeous! Why was I expecting her to be blonde...? She's beautiful!
HC, yes please some more pics of the Sophster!

Wallace · 25/03/2008 20:13

Hooray flick! Sounds like you are doing fantastically!

spin - oh heck... Hope everything is fine. Do get her tested, it is better to know than worry endlessly xx

agalch - not a year already!

kbaby - your kids are so good looking, even covered in spots!

beadmum - where are you moving to? hope all goes well

zeds - how terrifying scary glad everyhting is looking good

ceebee - he is lovely, and so much hair Leo's is just fluffy

pixel - gorgeous photos, it must just be leo who is lacking in the hair department!

Hello to anyone I missed

I haven't been around much because dh had an operation on his knee (had an accident last year and tore ligaments) so he is at home all the time, apart from when I am driving him to appointments and physio

We have been regular visitors to our GP's because ds1 has just been diagnosed with hypermobile joints. It is nothing serious and won't affect him much, but he has had lots of physio appointments too...

Also ds1 and dd have had a really nasty bug which the doc said could have been Scarlet Fever.

Leo is as Leoish as ever. Full of energy and mischief. He talks constantly and is stringing several words together, I won't call them sentences because they lack all the joining words!

The other day he pulled the washing machine drawer right out and spilled washing powder all over the floor and said "OH No what Leo done now!" But I take the credit for that sentence, not him

He is enjoying all the snow at the moment - it must be like having a giant sandpit covering the garden and he had his first turn on a sledge yesterday which he loved!

ImpyChica · 25/03/2008 21:04

Just a quickie to say CONGRATULATIONS Flick!!! So happy Sam arrived safe and sound - hope he's home with you asap. Wonderful news. Impy x

kbaby · 26/03/2008 09:10

Catchingzeds- How awfull or you, what a worry, ((big hugs)) I hope the other results show everything is fine.
Ceebee- he looks like a proper little boy now. I loved his curls, both DC had dead straight hair and I long for baby curly hair. BTW how did you get pictures on your profile, I cant work out how the reduce the size of them.
Pixel- Emma looks a cutie and her hair doesnt look like a mullet, youll find it will grow really quickly in the summer.
Wallace- They are arent they Dd looked right miserable in the spotty one though a bit like a wild woman, must get her hair cut.

DS is saying more words now, not stringing anything together but we get new words every day which is good, yesterdays words were; mine, chocolate and belly.

TheGoddessBlossom · 26/03/2008 12:52

Jesus Zeds, what a nightmarish day you both had, so sorry you had to go through that and so glad the tests came back ok.

TOby 's eye is still completely crossed. Hoping for an eye specialist appt very soon. DH trying to be strong but he over reacts horrendously, whereas I tend to under react, and instead of being a good match that actually causes lots of tension in itself. I'm on the phone explaining the situation to people, saying "he's fine in himself, happy chappy, nothing wrong with him apart from his eye" etc and DH goes mad saying "He is NOT fine, he has a dodgy eye, it could be ANYTHING, why do you keep saying heis FINE?!" Because one of us round here has to be the grown up DH that's why. He is such a pessimist drama queen, quite a luxurious position to be in really, becuase he gets to have histrionics and be all mopey and worried and I have to march on being glass half full and brave. MEN! I know he deals with worry very differently to me, I have always had the rather arrogant attitude that nothing bad will ever happen to me, whereas he sees bankruptcy/cancer/baddies round every corner.....

SSS< sorry you don't seem to be getting the support you need from family, they are probably just trying to reassure you, but getting it a bit wrong....big hugs to you.

Gorge pix everyone. Beautiful.

Bloss

Beadmum · 26/03/2008 15:00

Pixel - emma is just beautiful, what lovely pics. Arent you selling up and moving soon, hows that going?

ceebee - gorgeous photo of josh, he looks so grown up now after his haircut

bloss - (((hugs))) hope you get an appt very soon to put your mind at rest

wallace - hope everyone is on the mend, leo sounds so funny. Charlotte is repeating words now but is nowhere near stringing that many together. We are just looking to move to small village/town on the outskirts of our city.

agalch - sounds like you'll have a lovely time, what a romantic dh you have, aww

catchingzeds - what an awful time you all had, i was so shocked reading your post, all that worry they put you through . Glad it all turned out well & good luck with the test results (((hugs)))

well we have lost the house, we were told they were probably going to announce closing date this week so we were waiting to put in an offer but we were told today they have received an offer thats been accepted, all we've been told is it was too good to refuse so was probably over what we could have managed anyway. oh well back to the drawing board, thought the housing market had calmed down but quite scary if houses are still going for 20-30,000 over asking prices, i am so envious of the english system, at least there the price is what the seller wants In scotland you think youre looking in your price range to find out sellers dont want anything near that figure but loads more

Sorry about the rant, enjoy the rest of your day ladies xx

ceebee74 · 26/03/2008 19:51

Agalch ? how romantic of your DH, you lucky thing. Enjoy

Pixel ? Emma is just gorgeous ? and her hair looks nothing like a mullet!

Beadmum ? so sorry about the house I don?t understand the Scottish system but it does sound very complicated. Just keep thinking that maybe this was meant to be and a better house is just around the corner.

Well, I am beginning to think that Josh?s sunny and cheery nature must have been in his curls as he has turned into a complete nightmare since his haircut yesterday . Tantrums every 5 minutes over the slightest thing (ffs, he had a tantrum because we were ?catching the Pinky Ponk? tonight). He asked for a drink but he had a tantrum when I pointed to every single cup so I have no idea what he actually wanted ? and that pretty much set the tone for the evening tonight. Now someone remind me why I am having another one??

Right, off to tidy up and have some tea before the Apprentice starts. Day off tomorrow and off to the gym for my fave class in the morning and then meeting a MN friend for lunch ? cannot wait!
