havne't read all posts but bloss do you want our paed opthamologist details? he isn't cheap but is one of the best in the country. and he is wonderful with kids. email me at lysetteparbhuatyahoodotcodotuk imo it's worth it and as you say they may be twinnies!

we are getting jacob's glasses this weekend well sorting the frames and lenses out and then collecting them a week later!

sam is getting a suntan at the moment! he's just above the jaundice line but at least his feeds have increased to 13ml per hour which is great and his breathing is settling - he's only on 0.03% oxygen boost so hopefully he'll be off that soon. hates being handled though! so nappy changes are a challenge, except when dh or i do them and he seems perfectly happy

we ahve a tantrum monster here too who is refusing to eat proper dinner....

bloss just seen your latest post - dh was exactly the same and in case you can't email me and i'm at the hospital our chap is Paul Kinnear at the cromwell hospital in kensington (he's private there but also does nhs appts at chelsea and westminster although i imagine the wait there is long). might help to tell dh about jacob? although if he's anything like my dh he'll say "so f'ing what it's not our little boy blah blah blah"

anyway, must go dinner on and time to express again soon.

Hi all,

Thanks so much Flick. And Spin for support. I have made a private appt for Toby for both an Orthoptist (for measurements) and the Paed Opthamologist (that he would have eventually seen on the NHS) for next Tuesday and Thursday respectively. Feel very releived on DH's part that I can do something about it all, releived for myself and Toby too of course, but if I can stop DH stressing so much and being soooooooo miserable about it I will pay £1000s!! Jeez, let's pray neither boyever gets anything more complex, DH will crawl into a hole and pull the branches closed behind him!!!

Unbeleivable the whole different experience booking a private appt to trying to get an NHS one. This guy has two PAs, one for NHS appts who is rude, abrupt, monosyllabic and reticent, and one for private, chatty, friendly, sympathetic, responsive and warm. Typical that my family BUPA cover through work doesn't kick in for a month isn't it!!!

I will take a pic of boss eyed Bill and post it to show you. Little lamb. He is talking loads too. And SO independent. If he has a banana he has to hold it with the skin on for a bit, woe betide you if you peel it before he has acknowledged that he can't actually do it himself and asked for "Hewp". Same for unwrapping fruit bars, feeding himself, etc etc.

Hope this sun stays out, looks a bit threatening, I want to go to Bird World this afternoon and get some fresh air...

Bloss

xx

Hi Ladies

Day off today, so I'm spending it playing sly fox and crocodiles...

Put some pics up on Facebook, you should all be able to see them with this link: Sleepy time

Big hugs for you girls, Bloss, Spin, and CatchingZeds. Flick you sound like you are doing so well!

Kayley's eczema is ok these days (touch wood, please don't let this jinx it).
It's since she has started drinking lactofree milk. She's still got the dry skin and itches, but she will stop if I say to. She hasn't had a flare up since. She still wakes a lot at night too, and drinks two bottles of milk . I know. I have to change her nappy in the early hours again, it's (almost) like having a newborn again. Though a newborn wouldn't likely say 'Mimi sleep in Mammy and Daddy's bed now'...
Still, it's all ongoing, and compared to what's going on with others, it's hardly worth moaning about.

Tantrums too. And cling city. And fecking 'carry' everywhere... and further tantrums when I refuse.

Well I better go, Joey is pulling off all the bamboo leaves for his polar bear (he tried using a couch cushion as a panda first) and Mimi is playing peekaboo with herself...

Will catch up with everyone later.

AnnieAreYouOkAreYouOkAnnie · 27/03/2008 14:32

not 'carry', 'cawwy'

Beadmum · 27/03/2008 14:50

annie - Loving the pics, gorgeous children you have there Glad kayleys eczema has calmed down, hope it continues. at joey with the bamboo leaves.

bloss - thats good you have got appt's fairly soon, all the best for next week (((hugs))) best to put you & dh mind at rest

spin - roshi tantrums sound a bit like charlottes at the mo, they can be so strongwilled cant they? Im hoping charlottes will calm down once shes speaking more, must be so frustrating to them when theyre not being understood

flick - good to hear you all are doing fine, you sound so calm and coping well

ceebee - sounds like theyre all approaching that tantrum stage, lol at josh's cheery nature lost with the curls

HumphreysCorner · 27/03/2008 19:46

Hello all

Annie-such lovely pics and Sophie is a Fifi fan.

Bloss-thank goodness you have a private appointment. Can't imagine how traumatic things are for you and DH.

spin-how's things with Roshi's skin?

Too many other posts to repsond to, soz. My fault for spending too much time egg hunting on Facebook. Will try and make more of an effort. Sophie is starting to throw mini tantrums but I can handle hers. Could never handle Emma's.

Love to all

bloss see the opthamologist first if you can - sounds silly but you may not need the orthoptist in the end depending on what it is.

well big ding dong with the mil last night. we apparently had a mini leak through the bathroom floor yesterday and she decided to use a new white towel to mop it up. i found the towel on the stairs and walked into the kitchen holding it (not knowing what she had used it for) and said "what happened to this towel" as it was filthy and she just flipped at me! snatched it away and said obviously there is a problem with it so she would clean it blah blah blah.... i had actually thought that the builders had used it! and then dh said "that was rather extravagant wasn't it?" and she still kept shouting at me! not a word for him

anyway, dh is feeling the strain so i just let it go but she's jsut now f'ing carrying on like nothing happened and she has licence to talk to me like that....next time.....

anyway, more importantly, sam is off the oxygen, and has no iv line now so he is taking full feeds through a tube down his nose. had a go at bf'ing again today and actually managed to latch for a few sucks - it'll take time with him i think but he'll get there. and he's doing much better - i think really fighting the jaundice was mucking him up so now he's over that (fingers crossed) he'll do really well.

anyway, must be away, need to go to bed as am waking up in 1.5 hours to express....

HumphreysCorner · 28/03/2008 10:37

flick-you just do not need this amount of hassle at the moment. Can't your MIL sod off back home? No way would mine be staying just after the birth. How lovely managing to BF Sam a little-so, so special.

Bloss-how's things today?

Waves to everyone else. The weather is atrocious here, April showers early.

So relief all round, thank you all for your support. Will be back on over the weekend x

Beadmum · 28/03/2008 19:38

Hi everyone

Got a bit of news - Went to view a house last night, put in an offer today that was rejected and very quickly put in a higher offer that has been accepted so happy as its our ideal area, (great school, family orientated). Smaller than we were originally looking for but fab garden and everything else ticked the boxes. Will be a mad weekend sorting out our flat as someone is coming on monday morning to do valuation and takes photo's etc for schedule, should be on the market by tuesday, hope it sells quickly, eek

Beadmum · 28/03/2008 19:39

xpost catching zeds - thats great news, you must all be so relieved

HumphreysCorner · 28/03/2008 21:02

Bloss- DS is the same with the banana peel and also with his easter eggs, he has to take the foil off and break it into pieces.

Hes lost loads of weight, weighed him today and hes dropped from 24.8 lbs to 24lb. Hes not feeling too well today as he hasnt touched a single mouthful of food and is soooooo clingy, you cant put him down at all.

Annie- Where did you get joeys quilt cover from? its lovely. btw they look so alike.
Catchingzeds- Glad it was good news, now you can relax.

Twinklemegan · 30/03/2008 23:14

Hello everyone. We're in and loving it.

I've just caught up on all your posts but I've got work tomorrow so this'll have to be a quickie.

Flick - Congratulations!! Wonderful news!

CB - Congrats to you as well. I am quite .

Spin - (((hugs)))

CatchingZeds - I'm to say I think I missed what was thought to be wrong with Zack. It sounds ever so scary though, and I'm so glad it's turned out fine.

Wallace - at scarlet fever! Yes I'd love to meet up again. I'm back at work tomorrow unfortunately, but I'll drop you a line when I'm next off on leave and hopefully we can fix something up.

Beadmum - I'm so pleased for you. Hopefully it's all worked out for the best. The Scottish system is a nightmare, as we found out a while back. It was a blessing in disguise for us though. I'm intrigued how you can put an offer in without having sold your place - don't you have to agree an entry date at the outset? We don't plan on moving again for a very long time, the whole process was so so stressful.

Hi to everyone else.

Just a quick catch up from me. Moving day was just horrendous. I didn't remember it being nearly so bad 6 months ago, then once we were in I remembered that 6 months ago my parents looked after Aidan for the day. That would explain it then.

Aidan started projectile vomiting this morning and continued all day 'til he had nothing left, poor mite. I'm a bit worried because the water here isn't drinkable at the moment and I just hope it isn't to do with that. We're all drinking bottled water and I'm washing his face with boiled water, so I don't know how he could have ingested any but still. Hopefully it's just a bug since it could be months before the water supply's sorted here.

Right, I'm off to bed. xx

MaeWest · 31/03/2008 08:42

lol at your quickie Twinkle , let's see if I can do any better...

Congrats flick, welcome to the world Sam . Great news about the bf, hope he's home with you soon. And to your MIL, she should know better than to mess with a post-natal woman...

Congrats Ceebee too, maybe I should give the ttc boards a go again, seems to have worked for you

Stayed at my mums for a long break last week and it was fab, lovely to see DS with his extended family.

Have happy mondays ladies

Wallace · 31/03/2008 19:41

catchingzeds - hooray!

twink - let me know when you're available. We could even go to, Landmark, the big tourist attraction in my village. I could get you in for free . Poor Aidan, probab;y just a bug, hope he is feeling better today

spin - how did you get on a GP? Leo is dropping his nap too, at least it means an earler night. He gets grumpy and tired though so maybe not quite ready yet - wish he knew that!

Beadmum - goodnews!

I have got a new keyboard and I keep hitting all the wrong eys so apologies for any typos!

TheGoddessBlossom · 31/03/2008 21:40

evening all.

Toby had Orthoptist today, total stressful nightmare as went to wrong place but that's a whole other post. He will almost certainly have to wear patches to force his bad eye to work, opthamologist will dtermine if he needs specs as well tomorrow. How the fuck am I going to keep a patch on the Tobster?

Two day course in London starting tomorrow so DH has to take him. So have had to be militarily organised (even more so than usual) - phones are charged, boys nursery bags are packed, extra bag with nappies wipes and snacks for DH to take with him, print outs to learn on the train for hideous presentation I have to do in a few weeks time, train times checked, booster seat dropped at friend's house who are collecting boys for me tomorrow, and it goes on and on and on...

going on holiday next week, can't come too soon. Toby will have a nice pirate patch suntan!

Glad all is well, good luck Spin!

xx

AnnieAreYouOkAreYouOkAnnie · 31/03/2008 22:15

Hello All

Oh Bloss , hugs for you and Tobes. Lots of pirate games to play though, eh?

CatchingZeds, what a relief for you though.

Spin, Hugs for you and Roshi now, fingers still crossed for you.

Wallace, Spin, K is also dropping her nap methinks. She holds out all day, and then eats her dinner, then more or less rolls off her chair, eyes drooping, and is conked within minutes. She has napped once since last thursday.
Night time is still haywire though. She has abandoned going to sleep nicely at the same time as Joey and now screams her tits off until I pick her up. So that Joey can go to sleep I take her back out. Bad bad bad I know. She then falls asleep on me, and then into her cot, for, ooh, 17 minutes or so? Then into bed with us... Still drinking loads at night, though it's down from two bottles to 1.5...
Rubbish. But her eczema, though still there, seems under control. Still itchy and scratchy.

Hi Mae ! Haven't heard from you for a while! How is Dom doing, is he any better at sleeping for you? Good luck if you go TTC, let us know the goss!!

Twinkle, LOL at the quickie!! Congrats on the move, and hope Aiden has stopped projectiling everywhere.

kbaby, Joey's duvet set is from John Lewis Dinosaurs He loves it but he wants crocodiles now...

Beadmum, congrats on the house!!

Flick, big hugs to you. I remember my MIL being really insensitive and selfish and SELFISH and fecking selfish when Joey was first born. It passes after a while, about 3 years... Hope she cops herself on. And you, my lady are taking it easy (as we all know, not an easy feat with two LO's). How is Sam doing, any idea when you can take him home yet? And how is Jacob with his little brother?

HC Hi!! . I promise not to poke you again until I have made my move!!

Lotsa love to everyone else

Nite!

spin hugs to you i know i certainly over research every thing to death so you must be worried sick but thinking of you and fingers crossed it is all ok.

zeds glad to hear it's all clear!

the big news here is that we roomed in on sunday night and monday morning the sister in charge said "right sam's ok to go home today if you're happy!" happy happy happy???? that's not the word! so we brought him home yesterday late afternoon.

he's currently sleeping in his moses basket on the family room floor. jacob is very interested and taking to him very well - keeps launching hiself at me while i'm bf'ing though

mil is being much better although seems to think that nothing happened the other evening, but as she is being a huge help with jacob i can't really say very much. although (and much to my shame) i think i made her cry last night. she was faffing around with jacob as usual and half arsedly trying to get him to stop wandering around and he fell and caught himself on the handle of the wicker washing basket - on his eyebrow, and he started wailing and she kept saying you're fine (which i do a lot except when he's obviously in pain) - so i muttered something under my breath (not swearing you understand but not too nice) and next minute she'd disappeared upstairs and locked herself in the toilet.....

anyway, she seems ok today i think, but she can't leave sam alone - he's sleeping ffs just let him sleep, don't mess around with his blankets, but blah blah blah here i go again!

xxx

MaeWest · 01/04/2008 19:39

Fantastic that Sam is home already, really pleased for you all

Hi Annie - sleep isn't as good as it was, but for some reason it doesn't seem too bad. Our 'routine' seems to be that DS goes to sleep in his own bed, then wakes up between midnight/3am and comes in with us and snuggles back to sleep fairly quickly. Then sometime between 4/5am he wakes me up asking for 'mimi' so I boob him up good and then chuck him back in the cot where he will sleep for another hour or so. I'm relaxed about part-time co-sleeping as long as we are actually sleeping so happy to continue with this for the time being. Glad K is slowly improving too

spin - good to see you around, hope you get Roshi's tests sorted and put your mind at rest.
