Bramshott, he is in reception. This happened once last year when he was in the nursery class too. From what he tells me it was started by one little boy (who is an utter shit), but now others have copied. Teacher has given a row to one of them (quite publicly I think as it happened when they were all sat in a circle), so I am hoping that it will stop now. The one who started it is one of those kids you are glad isnt yours IYKWIM! He was actually asked to leave a party at a soft play place due to his behaviour He was pushing and hitting any child he could lay his hands on I know they are all boisterous, but he is just a step too far and his parents just ignore it.

CaptainDippy · 15/11/2007 10:49

I hope it does stop UW. xx

P is not herself really She is ok enough, but just restless, snotty, clingy, tired, poor love. DD2 is very snotty too and DD1 now seems to be getting better after being the ill one last week .... they seem to take it in turns .... sigh ....

How are you, SPB and UW??

StealthPolarBear · 15/11/2007 10:49

he sounds horrible uw, hopefully your little boy won't have to put up with any more nastiness.

We're going to sign stuff at the solicitors next tue for our house move

Sexonlegs · 15/11/2007 10:52

Morning folks.

POTC, sorry you are having a crap time again. No hugs tho as I know you don't do them. Thinking of you tho.

UW, hope ds is ok today. That little boy sounds a nightmare.

CD, how is P doing?

GMM, pmsl at you stuffing C up!

BWI, how are you today?

Maveta, meant to say congrats to your sister - hope she has a very healthy and happy pregnancy and beyond.

I have decided the new name for the HV's - Health Uninvited Visitors! Yes, I am bored!

Got to go to sodding work for a 4.00 meeting - dreadful time of day for it.

StealthPolarBear · 15/11/2007 10:53

oh cd it must take a while for bugs to do the rounds and leave your house
I'm fine thanks, T has had a fun morning shouting at his toys and is now twiddling the foot on his sleep suit and fighting sleep. I got him some big fuzzy sleep suits (not sure what they're called) from sainsburys to go over his normal one in morning and evening, they keep him lovely and warm! But they only had 9-12 so it's a little baggy on him

tcmummy · 15/11/2007 10:54

Morning

Just popping too say hello, not had a proper catch up. I'm sat at my desk, boy with dh who's off today and I'm... gulp... trying to start back on the PhD! Ahhh... Obviously MN is my first port of call ....

Now I'm off to print out everything I've ever written on the damn thing in the vain hope of encouraging myself and refreshing what I've done.

Generally feeling quite pants at the moment. Not sure if I'm coming or going. Lack of sleep isn't helping and I'm feeling like a crap mummy. AND the diet has gone completely out of the window and I'm living on chocolate flapjacks. And doing no exercise.

Trying to pull myself together...

Hope you're all ok.

Pillock - T is in 12-18months vests!

Maveta - congrats to your sis >

Pinions - T looks a bit like my nephew! Cuuuuutie!

Sorry can't recall anything else! xx

StealthPolarBear · 15/11/2007 10:54

hi sol, yes it is, you'll be sitting round all day knowing you'll have to get up and go out, not wanting to start anything, then a late ish meeting.

StealthPolarBear · 15/11/2007 10:55

tcmummy · 15/11/2007 10:58

Underwire - am i right in thinking you are mammyjo???

CD - poor lil P. Hope she's feeling better soon.

SPB - meant to say I can't believe T is on the move so much My T is a layeee lump who doesn't even like rolling! Although he shuffled round the kitchen floor on his back yesterday and when I picked him up he had lots of food debris in his hair . Bad mummy.

SOL - ugh to work meeting at 4. Hope it goes ok

tcmummy · 15/11/2007 11:00

SPB - it's in feminist stuff and the bible. >>

CaptainDippy · 15/11/2007 11:01

{{{{{tcmummy}}}}}} Hope you "pick up" soon honey - anything specific? You are very brave taking up the PhD mantle again - yes, what is it on??

CaptainDippy · 15/11/2007 11:02

I command you to eat lots of chcolate .....

tcmummy · 15/11/2007 11:04

I'm already eating LOTS of chocolate that's the problem!! Perhaps I need to start on the strong black coffee again...

CaptainDippy · 15/11/2007 11:05

OK - eat lots of carrot sticks.

CaptainDippy · 15/11/2007 11:05

....With lots of yummy creamy, cheesy garlicy dip .... mmmmmmmm .....g[rin]

CaptainDippy · 15/11/2007 11:06

, even!

tcmummy · 15/11/2007 11:11

I think the main this is I'm stressing about ever finishing this PhD. I've been at it 4 years, 1.5 of which I've been on leave because of stress (mum died of cancer), pregnancy (hyperemesis) and now mat leave. AND so I'm panicing about getting it nearly finished before I get up the duff with no.2, but I don't want to leave it years and years, but i know I'll be ill when I get pregnant and then I don't have a hope in hell of getting back to it with 2 babes.

And I'm doing a p/t job that is more stressful than I expected.

And I've been invited on a festival team (next Easter) as an artist and need to produce some work.

AND I'm having 2 massive parties in 2 weeks time and catering single handedly for 150 people. Everything made from scratch, even the sodding gravy.......

I know. I am doing to much and I am mad. But I don't know what to do about it...

Blah, blah, blah... sorry, not sure if that makes any sense.

tcmummy · 15/11/2007 11:12

Sorry to rant...

That feels better

CaptainDippy · 15/11/2007 11:29

Glad you feel better for the rant sweetie! You need to break everything up into manageable chunks - Stop looking at the "whole" and start looking at everything a bit at a time. Do you have people who can help you and who you can turn to? I would love to help if there is anything I can do!!!? (Could sort your Orders of Service for the Thanksgiving if you are having them!!?) How much have you got left of the PhD in terms of content?? {{{{hugs}}}}

tcmummy · 15/11/2007 11:39

Awww... Thanks CD that's really sweet of you . The Orders of Service are in process, we've got to pick songs etc and then we can print them up. Dh is on the case with it. I have got some peeps to help, but they mostly live away and are coming a couple of days before, my family have been a bit pants, but a couple of friends have been lovely and are baking away for me. So I will probably feel better when they're here and i can get on with the last minute jobs with them iyswim? I will feel really better when it's all over!

On the PhD I really am only at the 1st half (which is depressing as I've been doing it soooo long). I need 65,000 words and have about 10,000. HAHHAHAA!!! I know 2 people who took 10 years to do them!! But they give me hope because they now have finished and one has been published as a book.

elkiedee · 15/11/2007 11:39

Thanks POTC, love the new thread title and those zebra suits are hilarious, but I think that my leopard coat is mad enough for me.

Is there an acceptable alternative to hugs for you? Sorry you're having a rough time anyway.

And tcmummy, I'm also sorry you're stressed, but I'm awed that you're even trying to do a phd, a job and be an artist as well as being a mummy, congratulations on being invited to take part in the festival. Has your leave meant that the deadline for the Phd is extended, and how long do you have left of that time? Good luck with the parties and the job.

I was going to take D to baby singing but I think I will have to rethink that plan as he's asleep. The nap nearly 3 hours after he first wakes is becoming quite a routine, I normally use the pram to get him there. We will still go out this afternoon to visit postnatal group friends (mum and baby) and I might still go and have a look at the Children's Centre on the way - apparently there's a cafe of some kind inside it.

What are everyone's plans for Christmas? We're taking D to my mum's for a week, Mike's mum will be up for several days too, and I'm soooo looking forward to it. My mum was just saying on the phone that I should let others help with caring for D while I/dp both get some rest (she had a long chat on the phone with him when I was out last night) and that would be great, so long as D lets me - he's getting a bit more clingy to me (eek!)

D's eyes are open, but he's had a lovely hour's nap so I'm very happy about that Time to doll him up in a cute outfit and pack some food up and take him out to play. Hope people's days go well and see you later.

Maveta, have you pointed your sister towards mumsnet? Is she going to join an antenatal thread?

CaptainDippy · 15/11/2007 11:46

Routines are good, Elkie!

Christmas. Not a clue - Dh has two weeks off!!!!!!!! 1st time he has had two weeks of ever!!!! Very excited! We'll just hang around here, I guess. Probably see Ben's parents on Christmas day for lunch and afternoon - just chill, relax and enjoy being a family.

tcmummy - Glad you have lots of people to help you, that your family is being pants. Glad your friends who have completed their PhDs have given you hope - at least you are not right at the very beginning, that would be waaaaay too depressing ..... press on, my dear, press on ...... .....

Well S & P stirring so I need to start thinking about lunch, will be back on once older 2 are at nursery and I am avoiding the housework!!

underwire · 15/11/2007 12:08

Tc, yes I am mammyjo. Had a name change after rediscovering my underwire bras following the end of bf!!
You are really busy, hat off to you! I have picked back up on my dissertation. Really cant be arsed though and have no motivation whatsoever. Am also in the process of applying for a new job, and the interview will be vile with a presentation. Want to do this though, as have been waiting for this job to be advertised for nearly 2 years as it didnt have funding. I feel the need to do something for me for a change!

CD, hope P is ok. Once one gets it, it just goes round doesnt it. Ds was ill first then gave it to F. No fun

Christmas will be at our house in the morning for pressies. We plan to go to MIL for a couple of hours late morning. She has asked us over for boxing day so dont feel too bad for not spending loads of time with her. Going to my mums for dinner and spend the afternoon there. Looking forward to it as both me and dh are off for the whole of Christmas week. Did think about doing our own dinner. Had lush turkey last year from a local farm, but mum has said she will get from there! Bargain, good food (she is a fab cook) and I dont have to cook it

elkiedee · 15/11/2007 12:14

Well, I'm still here, as D is still asleep! I can't get used to this.

Hope you get the job underwire.

StealthPolarBear · 15/11/2007 12:16

ooh good luck with job underwire!
Feel all bleurgh
Just want someome to tell me we're moving so i get my arse into gear to pack!!
