morning all! just logging it thanks for all the congrats for my sister, will pass them on. Will only be second grandchild on our side and I´m very excited I´m going to be an Auntie, and that N will have an english cousin I really am so so thrilled for them. She told me by asking why she had a bag of real nappies in her house (long story) so I said she could bring them out at xmas if she has room and she said ´well how about I keep them seeing as I´ll be needing them soon´ They´re still at the slightly stunned stage (happened first try) and not really feeling like it´s real. But that will pass so soon!

What else? Oh I do feel for you all being made to worry about weight, HVs seem more annoying than efficient and helpful, am quite glad they don´t exist here. At the mum and baby group there was the teeniest little boy, 1 year old but he looked about the same height as Noah and really dainty. I thought they were the same age and looked on jealously as he crawled but then when he got up and walked I asked his mum and realised he was much older. She said all the professionals (in uk) had her worried for ages but now she just doesn´t let it bother her, it´s obvious he´s happy and healthy and reaching milestones. So cute though! And even more of a contrast because his older brother was quite a tall boy, she just said they each take after different sides of the family. It must be hard not to worry when you have folk going on at you though. Oh how I waffle.

WO going to the post office today x

Maveta · 15/11/2007 07:52

that would be logging in not it, of course.

StealthPolarBear · 15/11/2007 08:51

Morning everyone!
How is everyone today?

geordiemacminx · 15/11/2007 09:36

Morning ladies!!

Well following a "consultation" with Luce yesterday I decided to embark on project "stuff Charlie like a xmas turkey" He had 1 1/2 weetabix with 4oz of milk and then 5oz bottle before bed, then a dream feed at 10.30 - about 5oz... and....wait for it.....drum roll please....HE SLEPT UNTIL 5.30!!!!! Happy days!!!!

Maveta · 15/11/2007 09:44

GMM.. hmm maybe I´ll introduce tea sooner than I thought for N...

Hi SPB!

StealthPolarBear · 15/11/2007 09:46

wow gmm
lol at stuffing him like a turkey
Who was asking if their baby was the smallest? BWI? T was a few oz smaller last week, so prob very similar. Still feels like 6 stone though when I have to carry him!

StealthPolarBear · 15/11/2007 09:47

oh and maveta I assume you mean the meal as opposed to pg tips as we have discussed in the past? Are you feeling 'the urge' to put tea in N's bottle??

Maveta · 15/11/2007 09:49

hmmm...no, I don´t think caffeine is the key to helping him sleep more I was going to say dinner and then remembered a lot of people think of that as lunch.. what do you say for the last meal then?

StealthPolarBear · 15/11/2007 09:52

"feeding time at the zoo"

underwire · 15/11/2007 09:55

Morning! Ds has gone into school with no problems today, didnt even tell me he didnt want to go, so hopefully things will settle down.

Maveta, dinner, tea, supper?

GMM, made me laugh at you stuffing Charlie

I have no idea what F weighs as I havent had her weighed in ages. I could see she lost weight when she was ill but seems to be putting it back now and is eating really well.

IDOC, I watched that car ad in the email. Bloody shat my pants! I was watching the car so intently too! I will show it to dh later, his sort of thing

Maveta · 15/11/2007 09:56

LOL

underwire · 15/11/2007 09:57

lol SPB

underwire · 15/11/2007 10:09

Good to see you Ellie, sorry to hear you are having a tough time of things again. Hope things settle down for you soon xx

Bramshott · 15/11/2007 10:24

UW - glad to hear that your DS is okay. Is he in reception? It's such a minefield isn't it - I live in fear of DD1 doing anything that might cause her to get teased, as I don't think she realises how nasty people can be yet iyswim. Give him lots of hugs from all of us on here.

BWI - at your HV. That sounds really so unnecessary of her, when you have seen the GP so recently. I must admit I am hardly getting O weighed at all - once about 4 months, and again about 6 months. The childminder takes her and just writes down the weight for me so I don't even have to see the HV . I know she's on the small side (3-6m clothes with some 0-3 still) but then we're all small and she certainly has a fat tummy.

IDOC - all good here thanks. Manic work period has calmed down and extension is nearly finished. Looking forward to seeing you (and the other SE girls) next week, and hearing all about your possible house.

Maveta - great news about your sister!

Right, I am off to be efficient and do some work rather than let the fact that I am not too busy lull me into a false sense of security! And then to chase a plumber, and make a plan for Christmas shopping! Have vowed I will NOT overbuy for N this year like I did last year, but it's so tempting and easy when I keep seeing things she would love!

Bramshott · 15/11/2007 10:25

And POTC - sorry to hear you are having a rough patch. Sending thoughts and hugs. Looking forward to seeing you next week too.

CaptainDippy · 15/11/2007 10:26

PMSL @ new thread title Thank you Pillock!

....and they may not be able to get Man Baby Colds; but hey - they can sleep for 18 hrs in row!!!!!

Glad DS has gone into school ok today, UW - Hope he has a better day.

Just putting in my t'ppence-worth .....

Red books and growth charts are complete bollocks!!!!!

So there you go - my DD2 was a month prem, born at 5lb - she is still dinky (about the size of most of my friends 20 month olds, she is 2.6 yrs) She's never been on a percentile and I have never worried about it - She is happy and healthy; just diddy (and cute ) ....... You were never going to have big babies were you really, Ange!!? ....and I am only about an inch or so taller than you - so it was unlikely I was going to have big 'uns either (although I think DD1 is going to be taller than me by the time she starts school )

Pinions - I am of the same opinion as NorthernLurker - the more, the merrier - Can understand your perspective though - I would definitely say that the girlfiend can come tbh. HTH.

StealthPolarBear · 15/11/2007 10:37

how's p this morning?
