Thanks Maveta - re you dh and madrid - no it is not pathetic not to want to leave N - it's normal! Having said that - if you do go you will have a good time at same time as missing him like crazy - its weird but true

oooggs · 21/11/2007 21:21

not wanting to leave N is not pathetic. Plenty will, plenty do and plenty can't. Its a personal thing and only you can choose. Don't be hard on yourself (I fall into the can't)

Maveta · 21/11/2007 21:27

Just the more I think about the reality of it, am I being unfair on N taking him away for such a short time? Plane rides and train rides and a strange hotel for a night and a long day walking around a city? Was I insane for even thinking it would be a good idea?

I am so annoyed. This morning I was really looking forward to it and then dh goes and opens his big gob and I feel like why should N and I be put out just so he can have his cake and eat it?

AndaPinionsinaPearTree · 21/11/2007 21:28

Not sure whether it's strictly an oxymoron Mav!? Not much of a contradiction in terms.

Selfish and male seem to go fairly well together.
Self-absorbed and male seem to go fairly well together too.

Not pathetic at all not wanting to leave bubs, I still haven't spent a whole night away from ds1 (who is almost 4 ).

Maveta, not pathetic at all, and are you still bf? If you are you might find it's not actually that much of a break for you, I know when I go out for the night I have to express as soon as I get home, so you'd be having to take a pump with you

Well you see POTC - that's because they all know I'm right and are in awe of my brilliance (preens and struts until slips on floor cleaned today 'cos of house viewing and then looks v foolish )

AndaPinionsinaPearTree · 21/11/2007 21:42

awwwwwwwwwwwwww.

Not much cop here I'm afraid.

Sure someone will come up with sth ingenius sooner or later??

underwire · 21/11/2007 21:43

Evening all. Just popping in quickly as have been in work from 8am til 6pm today and am knackered!

Maveta, if you feel it would be the wrong thing to go then dont go. If you force yourself to leave N when you dont really want to you will end up feeling guilty the whole time you are away. Dont feel bad about it, if you dont want to leave him then that is perfectly reasonable

Runny, thanks for the company yesterday. It was lovely and the coffee was pretty good too! W is lush, even when he decided to yell at me

Not sure about the meet up Saturday. Ds has puked everywhere this evening (apparently lots of children in his school are off with d+v) so will see how he goes.

Hopefully back tomorrow. Night all xxx

geordiemacminx · 21/11/2007 21:44

Maveta - you are not to feel bad. I can see what you are saying about taking N and having a crap time yourselves. You would not be a bad mummy for leaving him with your parents - we all need some chill out time. However if you think that you would have a crap time for worrying about him then its probably best that you dont leave him. Only you know what is right.

Just been looking for some new underwear as if you would spend £90 on this

not oxymoron - I meant a tautology. did I? that still doesn´t seem quite right. does anyone know what I meant??!

NorthernLurker · 21/11/2007 21:47

indeed - (adopts old fashioned tone)where's the rest of it

AndaPinionsinaPearTree · 21/11/2007 21:47

geordiemacminx · 21/11/2007 21:50

I'm all for sexy underwear and all that but!!! or this a bargin at £75

NorthernLurker · 21/11/2007 21:51

might be - might not - I'm taking it too - and did so between dd1 and dd2 and between dd2 and dd3. I do get headaches occasionally - more often than once a month but not really really often -so that's no help at all is it

Maveta · 21/11/2007 21:51

so much so I said it twice

right, dh is home so i have to go and conspicuously ignore him now..

NorthernLurker · 21/11/2007 21:52

gmm do you think I could wear breast pads with that?

Maveta · 21/11/2007 21:52

yes but there´s sexy and then there´s just plain bizarre

night girls x

Lucewits · 21/11/2007 21:53

GMM

Maveta, I would go with your own instincts. If you are not ready to leave him then I wouldn't. Although a night in madrid does sound nice aswell didn't really help did I?

NL, really sorry to hear about your Dhs job hope that he finds something that he enjoys soon. So stressful for you.

geordiemacminx · 21/11/2007 21:53

I thought they were breast pads with tassles

PillockOfTheCommunity · 21/11/2007 21:53
