Well i think i was the frist to 'pop' from the due in june thread so i thought it was about time we started the post-natal thread.

DS2 is 2 weeks on monday I had him 4 weeks early due to induction for OC. Everything is going really well and i think things are finally starting to settle down (i hope i haven't just spoken too soon!!)

He is really suffering with colic though and were getting about 4 hours sleep a night on average and with a 2.5 year old there is no chance of catching up in the day, but i shouldn't complain as i'm lucky to have got two wonderful boys. Thats it now NO MORE!!!!!9smile0

I know a few other june mums have had their babies so it would be lovely to hear from you to see how you are all getting on (when you get the chance )

Ahhh love Gordon!

claire74 · 03/07/2007 21:03

Hello - god it takes ages catching up!

Foxy - Your probably to preoccupied in giving birth ..or have i missed a birth announcement and your baby is here? but I just wanted to say your post about the lump in your ds2's throat is very reassuring, so thank you for that - did he have it from birth? What ideas where flying round from the doctors about what it may have been if any?

Daisy - Hi, yes you can use caneston, sorry to hear about your lo's bottom - ouch

bumper - my lo a couple of weeks ago also swallowed some of my nipple! and both of us have survived to tell the tale, just layer it in lanisoh and use sheilds to aid the healing.

Oh and I fancy the pants of matt damon, thats about all I can say on the subject of sex right now any other thoughts are dormant

HollyAndAliceWillBeDogtanian · 03/07/2007 21:05

Pampers are shit, Huggies are good, Nature Baby don't fit! I have loads of reuseables, but haven't used them yet, going to wait til the sun is shining, if it ever does!

Has anyone else's older dc turned into a complete horror? Alice has trying to set the world tantrum throwing record today and she just woke william up when I was in the bath, so he of course then wanted feeding and poor dp had to deal with him screaming whilst I had the quickest bath ever! I feel really sorry for her, but what can I do? I suppose it gets easier when he doesn't demand so much of my attention. Please tell me it does!

claire74 · 03/07/2007 21:08

sorry to hear about your little one sputnik hope he gets better soon.

Regarding nappies pampers newborn were crap , pampers babydry i'm using now they're also crap, they leak every time, might try huggies but if memory serves me correctly they were crap too used them with my dd. Washing is a nightmare - roll on summer and our babies can just loll around all day in the nude!

I wish the 2-3 week growth spurt would end, my lo has been attached to the breast so much more for the last 3 days, usually they only last 3 days so i'm hoping we'll be back to normal routine tomorrow.

grandparents are staying and they've brought with them 3 huge homebaked cakes - I'm going to be the size of a house!

daisyandbabybootoo · 03/07/2007 21:34

are we all off watching gordon....

....nothing will convince me that tripe is worth eating, even just thinking about it recalls the smell for me...VOM!

i thought about re-useables as well, but there are so many kinds etc I wouldn't know where to start, although I do like the coloured ones, is it bamboozles? But, as we get through between 12 and 16 nappies a day, I'd need loads....and the washing machine would be on constantly, not to mention the electricity bill....

...i hate the thought of what we are sending to landfill though!

daisyandbabybootoo · 03/07/2007 21:35

Claire, thanks for that on the canesten...I've got some somewhere i think.

daisyandbabybootoo · 03/07/2007 21:39

holly/dogtanian....my ds was like that, but since last week he's been delightful. we've survived our first 24 hours without DH without me getting cross, and he's slowly starting to realise that the needs of babyboo come first....either that or she screams, and he doesn't like it one bit.

Mind you, he is a lot older, so probably understands better.

HollyAndAliceWillBeDogtanian · 03/07/2007 21:39

I've got Kooshies and Bambinomios as well as loads of terry nappies. I've only used the Kooshies before on dd. They are quite good, but they are really fat and trousers don't go over the top of them!

Seansgirl · 03/07/2007 21:42

ow ow ow Bumper! poor you!
whos starting the slimming club then? is it you Daisy? I am feeling the need to think about shedding some pounds, am really running out of stuff to wear

TALLULAHBELLE · 03/07/2007 21:44

ouch bumper - i had a wee bit of nip peel off when i took off breast pad. I was stuck to it & it just pulled a piece right off

HollyAndAliceWillBeDogtanian · 03/07/2007 21:47

Hey SG! Are you well? I might join you on losing a few pounds (or stone)! My arse is about the size of a small country!

HollyAndAliceWillBeDogtanian · 03/07/2007 21:48

How's the bfing going today Tallulah?

Seansgirl · 03/07/2007 21:48

Hmm yes. DD has been somewhat 'testing' shall we say, and attention seeking, TG for my Mum! she has been having her for about 3 afternoons a week which is a great! She has recently started 'telling it like it is' as well - when I came out of hospital she told me I smelt of sick for the first 2 days , told me my bottom was spreading (whilst sat on a chair),said to DH when he was in the bathroom "you look like you have a sausage on your front bottom, sizzle, sizzle!" she also said "its not the sam as when it was just the three of us"

On the fat front a woman that works in a shop that I go into now again asked me on Sunday how long I'd got before my due date! and she didn't apologise!

TALLULAHBELLE · 03/07/2007 21:50

spoke to adviser today - am seeing her tomorrow. am now feeding 10-15 mins one side then switching but she has been from boob to boob almost constantly for last 2 hours. Still not sure if she is getting much but keeps her quiet.

Seansgirl · 03/07/2007 21:50

Hi Holly, I bet you still look gorgeous!

Jamantha · 03/07/2007 21:54

had a busy few days. Charlotte is gaining weight now which is great. Up 110g from lasy Weds to yesterday (Monday). My parents came to visit yesterday and today, thought she was lovely (which she is of course) and we went for a pub lunch today, with charlotte being the model child and sleeping peacefully while we ate our lunches. And the best bit was that after mum & dad went home I got a 2.5 hour nap while C slept!! Still off to bed now though. Night all.

Seansgirl · 03/07/2007 21:54

I am well, fighting the baby blues a bit, feeling a bit anxious and panicky now again and feeling like I'll never cope, but I know that this will pass.

On the contraception front I think I have convinced DH to go for the snip, in the meantime I will have to do something what does everyone else use, she asks as not had to think about this for 10 years!

HollyAndAliceWillBeDogtanian · 03/07/2007 21:54

You are so lovely SG! I'm sure you smell wonderful and not of sick! My dd told me I have a funny nose yesterday! Aren't our children wonderful ?!

Glad things are going a bit better Tallulah. I'm sure lo is getting enough milk, good luck with the counsellor tomorrow xx

daisyandbabybootoo · 03/07/2007 21:57

like the diet club idea...we could all do a different diet ie WW/SW/cambridge/rosemary conley etc and see who gets the best results overall!

Ouchy ouchy for all the peeling nips!

tallulah, hope it goes well tomorrow.

HollyAndAliceWillBeDogtanian · 03/07/2007 22:00

My dp wants the snip, but I am not so sure. He now has 5 children, but I only have 2 and I am only 25! I don't really want to limit my options atm. Saying that though we are both very fertile and 2 missed pills resulted in 2 children! Not that they were mistakes, just a bit unexpected!! I might go for the coil, it seems to be the best option all round.

HollyAndAliceWillBeDogtanian · 03/07/2007 22:01

Bags slimming world!!

derlor · 03/07/2007 22:01

oh shit was just about to join in and LO is awake and looking for mummy.
i can't type and feed so i'm off for tonight, sleep well all (except Foxy - Push push push, then sleep x)

HollyAndAliceWillBeDogtanian · 03/07/2007 22:01

Wonder if foxy has had her baby yet!

HollyAndAliceWillBeDogtanian · 03/07/2007 22:01

Hi and bye derlor!!

daisyandbabybootoo · 03/07/2007 22:07

SG...are you allright love? It's probably compounded by the release of all the stress and tension you had before the birth. Keep an eye on things, and if you don't start feeling better, please talk to your doc or HV....you don't want this developing into full blown PND....

oh....contraception....can't think why I'd have need of that DH wants the snip...I'm not sure as i'd like to think we could have another if we wanted to; so in the meantime it'll be condoms. I know they are a faff, but the frequency of bedroom action in this house is such that its not much of an issue, LOL!!

Jamantha...glad things are going a bit better

Right, I#m off to bed...i'm not making the same mistake as last night and leaving it till after her next feed...she didn't settle till nearly 2am!

hope we have news of a new little foxcub in the morning.
