Well i think i was the frist to 'pop' from the due in june thread so i thought it was about time we started the post-natal thread.

DS2 is 2 weeks on monday I had him 4 weeks early due to induction for OC. Everything is going really well and i think things are finally starting to settle down (i hope i haven't just spoken too soon!!)

He is really suffering with colic though and were getting about 4 hours sleep a night on average and with a 2.5 year old there is no chance of catching up in the day, but i shouldn't complain as i'm lucky to have got two wonderful boys. Thats it now NO MORE!!!!!9smile0

I know a few other june mums have had their babies so it would be lovely to hear from you to see how you are all getting on (when you get the chance )

Big hugs to Trandaverter. I was on the phone last night to a friend who stressed to me how it IS normal to feel like you could throttle them sometimes. Hope you get some peace soon TA. I found myself (relatively quietly) shouting at my Lo the other night when she was crying for food and then just half-heartedly sucking at the nip "look it's here, just take the f-ing thing!". It was just me being over-tired, and of course it didn't make her feed any better. But I've assured DH (and myself) that if I get really frustrated I just put her in her basket, and go out into the garden for 5 minutes.

Re nappies: Daisy - her rump does look bigger in the diddy diapers, have had to accept that it's the way with reusables. They do need a wrap. I think most do unless you buy one of the "all in one" type. But have been told they take a lot longer to dry. We tried some bamboozles but they took a bit longer than these ones to dry, and as we don't have a tumble drier we need to have relatively quick drying ones. We found that the standard diddy diapers took a little over 24 hours to dry without being out on the line in the sun or on a heated radiator, so we bought a few made in a different fabric (micro diddy diapers) that is faster drying so we can have some dry at the beginning of each day and the others will be dry by the time they are required. The faster drying ones need a "nippa" to fasten though, so we didn't get all of them as DH wasn't convinced he could master anything but velcro. And the washing instructions we were given say to fasten velcro fastening before washing in order to preserve the life of the nappy and the rest of the wash. Have just out the overnight nappies on to wash by the way and added her bath towels and bed sheet to make up the volume of the wash. Just hoping that her sheet doesn't come out with any traces of poo on it. Sure it won't but am a little paranoid.

As an aside, at 1.15 this am I changed Charlotte's nappy and as I was walking back to the bedroom (wearing just a pair of knickers, sorry if TMI) I felt liquid tricking down my tummy and leg. First thought was that she'd just peed and the nappy wasn't on right so was leaking straight out, but then I noticed it was on both legs, and on investigation it was my boobs deciding to "let go" at the sound of her crying. So maybe I do need those breast pads after all?
