Sept 05 babies - anyone else's destroying their house?

My 16 month/nearly 17 month old is systematically destroying our house. I literally cannot clear up one mess before he's made another. Today in the space of 30 minutes, he had got into three toilets and either pulled used paper out of them, shoved toys in them or used the loo brush to paint the walls.

He then got into the kitchen cupboard and got into the box of teabags and ripped them apart sprinkling the tea leaves on the floor.

He then walked into the hallway, reached up to the top of the telephone table (fairly high) and managed to knock off a VERY heavy glass vase so that it smashed into a million tiny shards (and remarkably walked away unhurt) and at the same time managed to smash the mini CD player underneath the vase.

While out at a soft play centre, he knocked over someone's cup of coffee, stole someone's lollipop and someone else's drink.

Once home, he dug up freshly planted bulbs and brought all the mud inside which he deposited in the kitchen cupboard.

Supper was smeared everywhere - I now have cous cous from floor to ceiling. And I won't even get started on what the toy room looks like.

In case you're wondering, I do keep an eye on him but have a 3 year old too and need to occassionally pee or get dressed. I feel like I am about to lose my mind. My house is a shit pit. I know I will spend hours clearing it up tonight only to have it destroyed again tomorrow.

Sorry for the moan. Just needed to get it off my chest instead of throttling the small chap. I know he's just exploring but my patience is wearing thin.

Hello!

Yes my dd is 17 months and a tiny terror - she is single handedly destroying everything! My ds was the same at this age - its a stage they grow out of in the end!!!!

wabbitt · 02/08/2007 16:54

So - this is what you get up to when I'm forced off the net??????!!!!

Hope to be able to lure some of the old thread back together for catching up and nattering!

I'm obscenely well, just registered as a childminder and working now at the Steiner Kindergarten - i start my Steiner Waldorf early years training with Plymouth uni in Sept!

Just about half way through the new harry potter so PLEASE don't tell me what happens!!!

Conrad's beautiful and happy and as much of a joy as ever he was, he comes to work with me at the kindergarten and is used on occasion as a living doll!

Noop is out of school now, she's doing the last bit of her GCSE work from home and warwickshire college, she has her emo fringe dyed purple and a fabulously striking sense of style - you wouldn't lose her in a crowd easily, let's put it that way!

I hope all of you are well, I'm sure there must be more recent messages for Sept 05 so I'm going to have a nose!

love to you all xxx xxx

mummyhill · 02/08/2007 21:25

Sorry but unfortunatly they all do that. Mine is a one toddler demolition zone.

mamama · 06/08/2007 15:53

Hello... I've been looking out for you all - I haven't been around much recently.

It feels like a long way off but people are asking me what I am doing for DS's 2nd birthday - anyone else thinking about this yet?

Hope you are all well.

Simplyred · 08/08/2007 19:19

bubbles2904 · 18/08/2007 18:07

Hi simplyred, not great at the moment to be honest, dp left me on wednesday so i'm a bit of a mess at the moment. Can't believe they're all going to be 2, it has gone so fast.

Simplyred · 19/08/2007 17:33

Oh no - I'm sorry to hear that - is it final? - or do you think there is hope? Thinking of you ..

wabbitt · 21/08/2007 02:05

hello!!!

I'm here too... Bubbles so sorry to hear your dp's decided to leave ... echoing SR's question, is there any hope that you can get back together? Has it been difficult between you two for a while? Hope you work what's best for you and the wee ones out xx

Simply Red! lovely to 'see' you! How's Slimming World going? I've been thinking about you guys all the while I've been without the internet... does Idris still pop in?

Hope everyone's little ones are well - I've got a new camera so I'll try to put some pics of the 'rad up on my profile over the week

Who's birthday is it first? Conrad's on the 20th

lovely to see you all xxx

wabbitt · 21/08/2007 23:48

Hello again... I'm going to pop in as frequently as I can to say hi

Have good days all xx

MoosMa · 22/08/2007 09:59

Hello, do you mind if I join you? It feels a bit late to be post-natal as I've had another DD since my Sept 05 girl, but here I am. DD1 is Ellie and will be 2 on 2nd Sept, and yes, she's been wrecking my house too, although she's calmed down a bit now!

Simplyred · 22/08/2007 23:08

hello MoosMa - yes great to 'see'' you.

Hello Wabbitt too - Slimming World going well - Rachel's birthday is on 18th September. She has an ear infection at the moment and on antibiotics after getting a fever of 39.6 on the Ricter scale but she is perking up

wabbitt · 24/08/2007 02:17

Ah ha! lovely to be back SR - your poor little Rachel, I'm glad she's on the mend now, ear infections are so nasty... Mummyhill was telling me how prone David is to them... with any luck though Rachel's will not return xx

MoosMa - Hello, not too late to join in at all - I've been out of the loop for months and months and months but lovely to be back

mamama · 24/08/2007 04:00

Ooo, hello all.

DS will be 2 on the 22nd. Apparently his cake has to be Thomas the Tank engine, so I am busy googling for inspiration. I can do a farmyard cake but haven't done a train yet. Am feeling stressed about it already!

wabbitt · 24/08/2007 14:07

doing a 'swiss roll' might be best to get the boiler shape Mamama... (hi there by the way - e-mail when you get a chance )

I've not thought what to do for little man's birthday yet - getting very busy with the new course starting up next week - I'm down in Plymouth for three days residential... it'll be the first time I've not spent the night with conrad in my room... where ever i've been - he's been with me. Think I'm going to be more stressed about it than he is.

love to all xx

Am supposed to be tidying the kitchen so will keep doing that but will add myself to the list. Alice is very well, lookign forward to "my bur-day" and seems to know she will be 2.

Weather is lovely here - is it really a bank holiday weekend?

Ellie - 3rd sept

Conrad - 20th sept
Alice - 20th September
Dylan - 22nd sept
David - 22nd sept (I'm pretty sure)

IdrisTheDragon · 25/08/2007 15:29

Haven't seen beatie post for ages, and think she name changed to Aderyn. But anyway, her Alice will also be 2 on the 20th September .

wabbitt · 25/08/2007 21:28

Woooooooo Hoooooo! exiting Idris is here too now

Of course - they are the triplets of the 20th!!!

Do you know I'd forgotten that

Conrad is in a little world of his own and has no clue that he'll have a birthday...

Yes fabulous weather... Mummyhill - are you enjoying the weather??? Still OK for the 4th?

Redhelen · 26/08/2007 08:48

Good Morning! (Its me Simplyred - Cant log in as myself today? so back to a prevouis incarnation!)

How are you all? - Hello Idris!!!!

I've been thinking about 2 years back when we were all posting - I'm hot, I can't sleep, eveything aches - seems ages ago - but only 5 minutes ago at the same time!!! I wonder how Lady Lariass (spelling? and her dd Elise who was born on 8/9 I think?) she moved house when her dd was about 2 months old and I don't think I have seen her on here since.

Have a lovely day - must go it is dh's 40th today!
