Sept 05 babies - anyone else's destroying their house?

My 16 month/nearly 17 month old is systematically destroying our house. I literally cannot clear up one mess before he's made another. Today in the space of 30 minutes, he had got into three toilets and either pulled used paper out of them, shoved toys in them or used the loo brush to paint the walls.

He then got into the kitchen cupboard and got into the box of teabags and ripped them apart sprinkling the tea leaves on the floor.

He then walked into the hallway, reached up to the top of the telephone table (fairly high) and managed to knock off a VERY heavy glass vase so that it smashed into a million tiny shards (and remarkably walked away unhurt) and at the same time managed to smash the mini CD player underneath the vase.

While out at a soft play centre, he knocked over someone's cup of coffee, stole someone's lollipop and someone else's drink.

Once home, he dug up freshly planted bulbs and brought all the mud inside which he deposited in the kitchen cupboard.

Supper was smeared everywhere - I now have cous cous from floor to ceiling. And I won't even get started on what the toy room looks like.

In case you're wondering, I do keep an eye on him but have a 3 year old too and need to occassionally pee or get dressed. I feel like I am about to lose my mind. My house is a shit pit. I know I will spend hours clearing it up tonight only to have it destroyed again tomorrow.

Sorry for the moan. Just needed to get it off my chest instead of throttling the small chap. I know he's just exploring but my patience is wearing thin.

Huge appologies. Was struck down by a migraine belated Happy Birthday to Abigail, hope you had a wonderful day princess. Give your mum a big hug from me!

Jaamy · 13/10/2008 21:26

Thank you mummyhill! Abigail had a wonderful birthday with a huge Fairy Princesses Vs Superheroes party on Saturday. She gave me plenty of hugs...as always! Hope all well in the Hill household. x

My little tot started nursery today. She strolled in without a look back. I am redundant!

Hey ho will give us time to work on #3. Desperate now after 2MCs in March and Sept Starting to think I may be past it.

Hope everyone else is ok with their big 3 year olds. x

Hi, all, firstly i have a few apologies to make, as you will notice if you read back to my last post, i was slightly engrossed in my own life at the time, and just dropped in, so didn't read all the posts before mine, so i would like to apologise to mummyhill and jaamy for your sad losses, i would also like to apologise for not being around when you guys were my lifeline just over 3 years ago, i turned to you all for everything, like a nice big happy family.

You will probably be pleased to hear that my year has got better, lol, it couldn't of got much worse, me and lee are still together after sorting out our problems and the kids are growing up all too quickly. as you know, mia went to nursery when i went back to school, but we got her date for big girl nursery yesterday, (thats what she calls it not me lol) and she starts on january 7th, i can't believe where the time has gone. How are all the other babies? did they all have great birthdays?? i hope so. it is crazy how the time has flown. love the new name by the way mrsjohnnydepp, thinking of changing my name to mrsjeremyyle, lol what do you all think, in my dreams, haha.

mummyhill · 23/10/2008 18:31

Huge hugs Jaamy. You know where I am if you want to chat.

Bubbles - Great to hear from you, glad you managed to work it out. Now don't be a stranger.

mummyhill · 23/10/2008 18:33

Hope everyone had good birthdays. I can't believe DS is 3 already. Have read a bit of the thread but will go and catch up properly!

MrsJonnyDepp · 20/11/2008 22:36

Hello

How is every one?

isawjaamykissingsantaclaus · 11/12/2008 20:53

Hello lovely ladies!

Just thought I'd pop in to wish you and your big 3 year olds a very early VERY HAPPY CHRISTMAS!!

(because I know I'll forget in a couple of weeks!)

Hope you are all keeping well and you all have a smashing time!

Thanks for your lovely thoughts, MJD - hope all's well with you.

Mummyhill - have been thinking about you a bit over the last month or so and about our little bundles that should have been. Sending you especially good wishes.

Bubbles - lovely to see you. Glad things have settled down. Good luck to your DD for "big girl nursery". If she's anything like A, She'll love it!

Wabbitt - are you as busy as ever? How's the kindergarten going? Hope your parents are a bit better.

Idris - are you still lurking in between school/nursery runs? Have a fantastic yuletide!

T x

mummyhill · 21/12/2008 15:17

Merry Christmas every one.

Jaamy thank you for the card it arrived yesterday. I have been thinking about you and your family a fair bit too.

Are everyone else's kids as excited as my 2? They are driving me insane atm.

Hope 2009 will be a good year for all of us.

mummyhill · 01/01/2009 19:48

Happy New Year everyone. I hope 2009 will be kind to all of us!

IdrisTheDragon · 04/01/2009 09:12

Happy New Year everyone

mummyhill · 14/01/2009 08:01

Hope you are all well. Made a resolution to try posting on here (and mumsnet in general) a bit more often.

I have been made a mod on a depression forum I use. Kids are shooting up so fast it's unbelievable. I am slowly getting house, mental health etc all sorted and am unofficially trying again for no 3, as in let nature take its course if it happens great if not no worries iyswim.

MrsJonnyDepp · 21/01/2009 19:21

Hello!

Happy new year! All good here - work very busy, lots of new year resolutions.

Take care

milward · 30/01/2009 12:15

Hello to all xxx

Thank you Mummyhill for wishing my ds happy birthday - that was lovely of you.

Best wishes to all. You all helped me so much xxx

wabbit · 09/02/2009 01:33

Ha - here you are... I keep having long breaks from MN - I lurk and then log off because of the AIBU's that clog up the active threads.

Milward, lovely to see you here and Bubbles too (so good to hear you're having a better time of it now){{hugs}}

MrsJD, how are the resolutions going - I resolved not to make any! well, I say that, really I kept them secret - and broke each one by Jan' 31st! breaking one as i type as it's past 12am {{eeek}}

Jaamy - yes as busy as ever i was! more so because Lovely man is just SO lovely !

I turned 40 this week, was hoping for bling on my engagement ring finger - got a Spa break which was in itself amazing... but not as long lasting as the knot-tying-tryst-type-ring-thing would have been! hey ho... next time maybe!

C's still a lovely little chap - skinny thing too... an enduring memory of his being 3 will be the view of him retreating whilst symultaneously hauling up his sagging trews!

N doing very well at college - recieved an award for being an outstanding student last term which made me a very proud wabbit!

love to you all lovely ladies and babes and babes to be (you know who you are!)

I'd like to reiterate bubbles' and milward's messages and say Thankyou too - for being there when things were really bad for me, and being here now - despite long absences - still a happy family of mummys

mummyhill · 16/02/2009 17:50

Delighted for you! Obv very but so happy for you! Take it easy and try to put feet up for at least the next 7 months xxx
